Abstract

Environmental pollution is constantly increasing worldwide. Soil, water, and air are the most polluted natural resources, meaning that new technologies are required to face this problem. Phytonanotechnology is a cutting-edge green strategy for the remediation of soil, water, and air that has exceptional advantages compared to traditional technologies for dissipate pollutants. This chapter highlights three cutting edge knowledge areas: phytoremediation, nanotechnology, and biotechnology. These three are working together to offer ecofriendly technologies that improve human well-being and dissipate pollutants. Also, there is a discussion regarding the treatment of wastewater or drinking water, the detection of pathogens and plant diseases, nanofertilizers, and the dissipation of environmental pollutants. Additionally, different mechanisms of biologically synthesized nanoscale materials for the environmental remediation of organic and inorganic pollutants are also discussed. Phytonanotechnology has to be used to improve the dissipation of environmental pollutants, increase water quality, and ensure human and environmental health.
