Abstract

Equivalent circuit models for short, medium, and long transmission lines are presented in this chapter to start with. Transformer models with nominal turns ratio are then given. Phase shifting transformer model and its effect in circuits is dealt with. Various load models such as constant current, constant impedance, and constant power are explained. Induction machine model is discussed. Its power, torque, and slip characteristics are analyzed. Model for mechanical transients is given. Real and reactive power characteristics are reviewed. Rectifier and inverter load models are considered for inclusion in circuits. Static load modeling and static equivalent loads are described.
