Abstract

This chapter discusses how common linear electronic circuit works. The emphasis is on amplifiers. Full coverage is given to operational amplifiers (op amps) and their many configurations and applications. Other circuits covered include filters, oscillators, mixers, phase-locked loops, and frequency synthesizers. Considerable coverage is given to power supplies including the standard AC to DC types, DC to AC inverters, and solar systems. The chapter wraps up with many hands-on projects covering virtual test instruments such as an oscilloscope, op amps, the popular 555 timer IC, and power supplies.
