Abstract
APP is an extremely complex, multifunctional molecule. There is little doubt that APP and its derivatives (eg Aβ and Aβ42) have essential roles in the regulation of key neural functions, including, but not limited to, synapse formation, maintenance, and growth, in neurite extension and in synaptic plasticity, and learning and memory.
