Chapter 3 - Membrane materials and modification for thermal induced membrane separation processes

Abstract

The chapter introduces various membrane materials and modification processes. Importance is given to the material selection strategy and the need and significance of membrane modifications. Further, most common types of membranes are discussed by giving examples from the recent literature. In subsequent sections, the various important membrane properties in terms of thermal induced membrane separation processes are discussed in detail. Lastly, commonly used membrane modification methods are discussed.
