Abstract
This chapter provides an insight about the membrane based separation process known as pervaporation. The process description was outlined in detail, along with its several benefits and limitations. Historical perspective about such process was mentioned in order to highlight its advantage over other conventional methods. The parameters controlling such process are discussed in detail, and moreover its application in various chemical engineering industries is mentioned. Selection of various membrane materials for different purposes is highlighted in detail to provide vivid insight about the process.
