Abstract
This chapter introduces the vagus nerve, which contains both motor and sensory nerve fibers related to digestion, particularly the feeling of hunger and fullness and how Vagal Blocking Therapy (VBLOC) can be used in the treatment of obesity by suppressing the sensation of hunger and promoting the feeling of fullness using the Maestro (EnteroMedics) system.
