Abstract

Air transport is one of the networked infrastructures our economy and society depends upon. These networked systems can be analysed with theoretical frameworks of complexity science, specifically complex networks theory. The aim of this book is to build bridges between communities of air transportation and complex networks theory and to review scientific contributions analysing air transport through complex networks theory. In the second part of the chapter, we introduce software for analysing complex networks and air transport data.
