Abstract
In this chapter, we apply the concepts of robustness of complex networks developed in the previous chapter to analyse the robustness of airport networks. We carry out an extensive study of the robustness of the world airport network, extending the analysis to the weighted world airport network. Then we also examine the robustness of regional airport networks, defined as communities of the short haul airport network. We continue analysing robustness of airline airport networks and the emergence of network robustness of multi-layered airport networks. We end the chapter analysing delay propagation with functional delay networks.
