Abstract

The article focuses on data-driven learning in teaching language theory and concerns some German word formation cases: convergence of root morphemes with affixes, semantic shifts of root morphemes and affixal word formation. The study is conducted on the basis of DWDS - Digitales Wörterbuch der deutschen Sprache, outlines linguodidactic potential of the chosen digital platform and proposes training algorithms that combine corpora deduction and guided inductive research based on the activity approach to teaching language theory in a corpora environment.
