Abstract
As William E. Martinov Jr., Ed.D., stepped into the Athletics Director position at Long Island University, the athletics department was undergoing massive change. The school's two separate athletics programs — Division I at LIU's Brooklyn campus and DII at the Long Island/Post campus — were about to be merged into one DI department with sports assigned to specific campuses. Today, it's one of the largest and most unique athletics programs in the country with 38 varsity sports.
