Abstract
The definitions of noise, noise pollution, and standards of noise pollution control are given in this chapter. In this chapter, conceptual approach for identification of noise impacts, description of existing noise environmental conditions, and the standards of noise pollution and the guidelines to prevent noise pollution are presented. In this chapter, the noise-impact prediction, its significance, and mitigation measures in order to control adverse impacts of noise pollution are discussed.
