Abstract
The different impact identification methodologies like interaction-matrix method, checklist methodologies, network methods, and overlay- and computer-based GIS are described in this chapter along with the advantages and disadvantages of these methods with special reference to various environmental conditions. Further, the significance of the identified impacts, the tools of impact prediction, and its models are also mentioned in this chapter. The issues to be considered in the assessment of criteria of identified impacts are also explained in this chapter.
