Abstract

Tensile structures are pieces in which tension is the main stress to consider. In this chapter, we evaluate how different loads create different shapes and associated stresses. We present a variety of differential equations to relate loads and stresses in tensile architectural fabric structures. The importance of pre-stressing forces and methods for determining the geometry of tensile structures will also be discussed.
