Abstract

The purpose of this study is to study the way music is accepted by personality type. A survey was conducted on young people (19-34 years old) living in Korea, and 288 subjects were involved. For survey statistics, IBM SPSS Statistics 27 version was used. The K-squared test is used to verify the relationship between categorical data, and in this study, music preference and personality type were analyzed as categorical variables, respectively. Through this, statistical results can be obtained as to whether music has an association with a specific personality type or whether there is a difference in music preference according to personality type. Research on the music acceptance method considering the audience's personality type could open a new horizon in music therapy, education, marketing, and even the music industry as a whole.
