Abstract

The author analyzes the three-year activity of the Historical Club of the Humanities and Education Science Academy of V. I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University to develop a civic position and patriotic worldview among senior pupils and students through the studies of the Russian history and historical challenges, to which our country had to respond in the past and responds nowadays. The paper identifies the mechanisms to implement the educational, career guidance and ideological functions of the Historical Club, describes the methodological devices to involve schoolchildren in the discussion on the complicated problems of the Russian history.
