Abstract
The article examines the influence of Protestant ideology on the formation of modern civilizations by the example of the USA. The author shows the close interrelation of Protestantism ideological content and the basic for the American culture idea of the exclusive American destiny, analyzes its historical and cultural backgrounds. The paper traces the interrelation of the globalization concept and Protestantism ethos, identifies how the USSR breakdown influenced the conception of the American national idea, traces the relation between this idea and neo-liberalism, and discovers the importance of Protestant ideology in the formation of the unipolar world.
