The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between the core competencies and problem-solving skills of college students majoring in beauty and to provide basic data for the development of programs to strengthen their abilities. For this, a questionnaire survey was performed against college students majoring in cosmetology from March 14 to April 17, 2023. A total of 448 copies were used for final analysis. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0. The conclusion of the study is as follows. First, among the competencies, the level of collaboration competency and confidence was the highest. Second, problemsolving skills were high when the level of professional competency, civic awareness, and collaborative competency was excellent. Third, problem-solving skills and professional skills showed the highest positive correlation. Fourth, professional competencies of core competencies had the greatest impact on problem-solving ability, professional competencies had the greatest impact on confidence and individual control, and collaborative competencies had the greatest impact on approach avoidance style. Therefore, since the professional competencies of college students majoring in beauty have the greatest impact on problem-solving skills, it is necessary to systematically acquire professional competencies, open a program to foster problem-solving skills, and link education and curriculum.
