Abstract
Trochanteric fractures of the femur are a common injury among the elderly, whose average age is over 60 years. In most cases, low-energy trauma forms trochanteric fractures of the femur in elderly patients and cause emergency hospitalization. Therapy of patients with fractures of the trochanteric region should be started immediately after the patient is admitted to the hospital. Today, preference is given to osteosynthesis, in particular osteosynthesis by the dynamic femoral screw system or cephalomedullary fixators. In the absence of consolidation and the development of complications, a more voluminous intervention is performed - endoprosthetics. The purpose of this publication is to demonstrate the success of bipolar hip hemiprosthesis. Materials and methods . We used data from the medical records of the trauma hospital, data from the instrumental study and the results of dynamic observation to write the article. We obtained the results using the equipment of the Center for Collective Use of Scientific Equipment of Derzhavin Tambov State University. Results . The patient underwent surgery: removal of the metal structure, endoprosthesis replacement of the right hip joint. The postoperative period proceeded without complications and on the eighth day the patient was discharged for outpatient observation by a traumatologist at the place of residence. Conclusion . In the absence of fracture consolidation, migration of the metal structure and secondary displacement of fragments after osteosynthesis, it is possible and expedient to perform hip replacement.
