Abstract
In essence, eventration is the prolapse of the contents of the abdominal cavity through a postoperative tissue defect in the period of 7-10 days, when the strength of the postoperative scar is too small, and the pressure in the abdominal cavity is above the limit of suture retention and above the strength of the aponeurosis at the places of tightening with a thread holding it. The purpose of the review : to summarize the available data on this topic and to familiarize with the information of interested people in this area. Materials and methods . We carried out the search in the open electronic scientific database PubMed and the database of the Russian scientific electronic library eLibrary for keywords and phrases: eventration, degrees of eventration, gastroschisis, diagnostics, treatment, prevention. Results . In modern medical practice, there has been a significant improvement in the results in the diagnosis and therapy of eventration in recent years. New technologies and methods of examination and treatment have a significant impact on the course of treatment of this pathological condition. In some cases, when the eventration is manifested by minimal symptoms and has a small character, conservative methods of treatment can be applied. However, in other situations, surgery may be required to restore body integrity and organ reposition in the abdomen. Conclusion . Examination of the results of the review of literature sources on eventration allows us to better understand this problem, to identify the main trends and prospects for research in this area. This helps to improve the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of patients with eventration, increasing the effectiveness of medical care in this area.
