Abstract
The study of the legal culture of civil identity takes place in related scientific fields, primarily in jurisprudence, psychology, and sociology. However, these studies practically do not consider civil identity as a process of self-identification of a young person, which occurs through a person's awareness of their belonging to the state, through the acceptance (full or partial) of civil society institutions, its values, attitudes and ideas. The research purpose is to identify the mutual conditionality of legal culture and civic identity in the development of personality of a certain age group (youth). The theoretical significance of the conducted research lies in the fact that common patterns have been identified both in the signs of such concepts as “legal culture” and “civil identity”, and in their structure, which makes it possible to combine research in various scientific fields and determine a common understanding of the role of legal culture in the civil identity of the younger generation through the lens of mental belonging. The practical significance of the obtained results allows to build a flexible trajectory for the formation of the perception of significant landmarks in the passage of civil identity through the adoption of values embedded in legal culture, with basic meanings of uniting citizens around their country to participate in its positive development and protection. The research originality is due to the proposal of an integrated approach consisting in the interdisciplinary study of the concept of mental belonging, which is based on the social, civic determination of the formation of a young person's personality.
