Abstract
This study aims to analyze the characteristics, strategies, and significance of the Revenge Narrative, focusing on the drama “The Glory”(NETFLIX, 2022-2023). “The Glory” follows the typical pattern of a general revenge narrative while showing a new revenge narrative that Korean dramas have not shown before. “The Glory” presupposes that Moon Dongeun is forced to become an avenger because of the violence that took place in the sacred space of the school Another strategy that “The Glory” employs to give plurality legitimacy is to link issues of class, power, and religion to private issues. As a result, “The Glory” is not a story of a single individual committing a private vendetta, but a story of public revenge against corrupt class, public power, and religion. “The Glory” embodies the significance of the revenge narrative in that it denounces the reality of the suffering experienced by innocent victims while providing the pleasure and comfort of justice.
