Abstract

This study aims to prioritize educational services for university freshmen using ImportancePerformance Analysis (IPA). I assess how freshmen rate the importance and performance of various educational services factors. From a survey of 1,082 freshmen in a University in Chungbuk, 18 factors across four areas (academics, adaptation, campus activities, and job support) are derived. Results indicate that the importance of all factors exceeded their performance, with statistically significant differences observed. Major knowledge acquisition, job preparation, and practical skills enhancement are identified as critical areas for improvement. Conversely, areas like senior relationships, student activities, counseling support, and volunteering need policy reconsideration. The significance of this study is that it provides foundational data for university policy makers to plan, operate, and modify freshman support programs.
