Abstract

This study primarily analyzes the domestic research trends in the Hallyu, Korean cultural education, and Korean language education. Utilizing bibliographic information from the Korea Citation Index (KCI), it analyzes research papers published since 2003 and categorizes the latent topics in these papers using the LDA technique of text mining. This reveals that research related to the Korean Wave is being conducted in various fields and that the trend of papers related to Korean language and cultural education is consistent. Notably, 'Hallyu', 'Korea', and 'culture' appear as major keywords, and the research can be summarized into five categories: 'popular culture, economic effects, education and the Korean language, cultural content, values and identity'. Through this study, it is possible to diagnose the current status of Korean Wave and Korean cultural education and explore development possibilities.
