Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine how the trusts in the government influence on the fear of people during the mass disaster. This paper tried to point out the importance of governmental trust during the mass disaster and come up with measures for removing the fear of mass disaster. According to the hypothesis verification results, people with higher governmental trust show less fear during the mass disaster. Although the hypothesis was predictable, this paper holds significance in exploring the degree of fear that general citizens feel during the mass disaster. The research results can be utilized as the evidential data for enhancing the governmental trust during the mass disaster. The measures for boosting the governmental trust are as follows. First, this paper suggested on preparing the disaster manual in details. Secondly, this paper suggested on promoting the disaster response and informing people about how to cope with the disasters. In addition, it is necessary to enhance the trust in governmental disaster response in order to reduce the fear of disaster and encourage stable life of citizens.
