Abstract
This study aims to examine the composition and integration types of middle school home economics textbooks in terms of an integrated curriculum. Using Lee and Dressel's home economics and Drake and Burns' integration types, cases from the first education curriculum to the 2015 curriculum were analyzed. The findings show that from the first to the seventh curriculum periods, interdisciplinary integration was achieved. Also, from the 2007 to 2015 revised curriculum, cross-disciplinary integration using integrated chapter titles was observed. Finally, integrated education content in textbooks included understanding home life, preparing for social change, and learner-centered living. The study recommends continuous research using an interdisciplinary integration approach for enhancing the home economics curriculum and textbooks.
