Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the future direction of liberal arts education by analyzing the trends of AI liberal arts education. The research method was keyword analysis through text mining, focusing on 41 research papers published from 2017 to May 2023. To summarize the results, first, the number of studies on A.I. liberal arts education has increased dramatically since the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020. Second, the topics of AI liberal arts education have shifted from AI literacy and software education to post-human, convergence education, and flipped learning, and since the launch of Chat GPT, ethical considerations and new curriculum development have been studied. Based on this, we suggest the following directions for university liberal arts education applying AI. First, creative convergence education should be strengthened. Second, differentiated AI education by major should be strengthened. Third, education on ethics and social responsibility should be strengthened. Fourth, various teaching and learning methods should be combined.
