Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the perceptions of the job characteristics and expertise regarding multicultural social experts among students currently completing the multicultural social expert course. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted upon 14 students who were majoring in Korean language education and completing the multicultural social expert course at S University. As a result showed that the unclear identity of the multicultural social expert leads to decreased occupational value and students not recognizing themselves as professionals. Therefore, there is a need to improve the qualification system for multicultural social expert and set their specific roles and treatment in order to allow them to function as professionals with expertise in the field.
