Abstract
This article is devoted to the study of the problem of increasing the cognitive activity of students in the process of teaching pedagogical disciplines. Activation of cognitive activity is considered as an actively managed process aimed at providing deep and solid knowledge of all students by strengthening the motivation of learning activities. The article discusses active and interactive teaching methods used by teachers in the educational process, these are: case-method (case study, discussion methods (debates), problem-based teaching method, heuristic teaching method, round table method, brainstorming method, didactic games (business, role-playing, blitz games). A number of distinctive features of active learning are noted, such as: forced activation of thinking, rather long-term participation of students in the educational process, independent creative development of solutions, increasing the degree of motivation and emotionality of students, constant interaction of students and teachers through direct and feedback.
