Abstract

The problem of cognitive activity is one of the most burning in theory and practice of primary school. It is a necessary condition for the formation of initiative, motivation, independence, mental qualities and creativity. A characteristic feature of primary pupils’ cognitive activity is the orientation towards independence in solving tasks, ability to compare previous experience with new one, desire to embrace endless knowledge, which significantly distinguishes it from other age periods.Thus, a professional combination of traditional teaching methods and using of new tools on the lessons "I explore the world" will give the teacher the opportunity not only to form cognitive activity and children's interest in learning, but also provide a comprehensive approach to the implementation of educational fields.Interactive teaching methods involve a partnership between pupils and teacher, the involvement of all pupils in the class in educational activities, active learning, which takes into account individual characteristics, perception and learning strategies of schoolchildren, which are close to children’s life experience.The topic of research is burning, because cognitive activity plays an important role in the formation and development of an individual, his desire for learning and self-improvement in modern life conditions, and interactive learning methods provide an opportunity for effective cooperation of all participants in the educational process, for realizing their abilities and potential. The purpose of the study: to check the effectiveness of the interactive teaching methods on the development of primary pupils’ cognitive activity on the lessons "I explore the world". Solving the research tasks determines the presentation logic of researched material in the study: systematization of theoretical and practical achievements of using interactive teaching methods; considering the peculiarities of its using in the educational process of primary school; justifying the methodology of its using on the lessons "I explore the world". The research methodology is based on general research methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization, observation, questionnaires, which are used to systemize the achievements of theory and practice in the educational process. The results of the study showed that the introduction and using of interactive learning methods on the lessons "I explore the world" had a positive effect on the development of schoolchildren’s cognitive activity. Practical results of the study can be used by primary school teachers in the educational process for effective developing of primary pupils’ cognitive activity, which determines the effectiveness and productivity of schooling as a whole. Value/originality. The introduction and using of new learning tools and methods is one of the main ways of updating and developing of the modern educational process, as it stimulates the pupils’ cognitive activity and has a positive effect on pupils’ effective assimilation of educational material, getting new skills and abilities.
