Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to examine the effects of education using modern fusion Gugak on cultural understanding and acquisition in the traditional culture education for foreign learners of Korean. To this end, we reviewed the perspectives of cultural education that many scholars have considered, and focused on the type of cultural integration education called ‘cultural-centered language integration education’. We designed a lesson model that combines language activities of reading and speaking. Based on the results of a preliminary survey of 30 advanced foreign learners, a cultural class that combines modern Pansori and traditional Pansori using video media was organized. Then, we applied it to a real class and analyzed the learner satisfaction through a questionnaire.
