The article considers the features of the choice and application of forms of representation of objects of material and intangible historical and cultural heritage of the Mordovians in the exposition and exhibition activities of state and municipal museums of Altai Krai (Russia). The main regional trends in the field of scientific documentation and updating of the historical and cultural heritage of the Mordovian ethnos by means of museum activities (the formation and inclusion of thematic photo collections and audio archives in the cultural and educational activities of museums) are determined. The resource base of museum institutions of the Altai Territory, engaged in the acquisition, storage, study and restoration of objects of the ethno-cultural heritage of the Finno-Ugric people, and the transmission of traditional Mordovian culture, is reviewed.
