Research on Spatial Pattern and Accessibility of Traditional Villages-Taking Henan Province as an Example

Abstract. Chinese culture has a long history. Traditional villages carry the breath of history. The great cultural attraction of traditional villages to people and the implementation of rural revitalization policies, it makes the attention to traditional villages gathered. Henan Province has a deep cultural heritage, he has many traditional villages, widely distributed. Therefore, it is particularly important to study the spatial pattern and accessibility of national-level traditional villages in Henan Province. This study takes 275 national-level traditional villages in Henan Province as research objects, using GIS analysis with accessibility to study the spatial pattern of traditional villages in Henan Province and to demonstrate the accessibility of traditional villages in prefectural-level cities in Henan Province at the municipal scale. Studies have shown that the spatial pattern and accessibility of the distribution of traditional villages in Henan Province are closely related to many factors (transportation road network, distance from the central city, etc.). The accessibility values of traditional villages in each prefecture-level city vary greatly, indicating that there are obvious differences in the accessibility of traditional villages in Henan Province. It intuitively reflects the spatial distribution and accessibility of traditional villages in Henan Province, with a view to providing a reference for the tourism development of traditional villages. Providing an analytical basis for promoting the optimal allocation of traditional village resources.

Entomoneis parikhani sp.nov., Aras Nehri (İran)’nden yeni bir diatom (Entomoneidaceae, Bacillariophyta)

The diatom Entomoneis has a series of unique features such as connecting lines with different shapes, sigmoid raphe on the bilobate keel, different curtains, and multiple girdle bands. Most species belonging to this genus are found in marine and saline habitats. In fact, the genus Entomoneis is an epipelic diatom that is found in streams with high salinity and high electrolyte concentration. To date, no specific type of freshwater has been identified for this species. In this study, a new species of freshwater diatom, Entomoneis parikhani, is described based on detailed morphological observations using a scanning electron microscope. The samples were collected the Aras River near Oltan village of Parsabad city in the northwest Iran. A special feature of Entomoneis parikhani is its triple valve. The genus Entomoneis comprises of diatoms with sigmoidal raphe canals and girdle bands. This taxon is similar to Entomoneis annagodhei and Entomoneis tenera, as shown by LM and SEM observations, and there are sufficient morphological differences to separate Entomoneis parikhani. This new species had very small cells, delicate frustules without valve lines, and wide lanceolate valves. In this study, the wide distribution of this taxon in the Aras River has been evaluated.

Akulturasi Budaya Masyarakat Etnis India-Minang di Kampung Pondok Kota Padang

This study discusses pluralism in the scope of cultural diversity in the Pondok village of Padang city. This study aims, first, to explain the efforts of the Indian ethnic community to be accepted in the environment, and second, to describe the Geniun culture of the Indian ethnic group that is accepted by the local culture. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method that focuses on the data that is described until it becomes complete data in completing this study. The results of this study found that the original culture brought from India can be well accepted by the local community, this can be seen from the involvement of people outside the Indian ethnic group in the celebration procession called the Serak Gulo event.

Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Pemahaman Pelaku UMKM dalam Menyusun Laporan Keuangan Berdasarkan SAK EMKM di Kelurahan Kota Uneng

The aim of this research is to determine the influence of educational background, socialization of SAK EMKM and business scale on the understanding of MSME actors in Uneng City Subdistrict in preparing financial reports based on SAK EMKM. Effective socialization of SAK EMKM is an important key in improving the quality of MSME financial reports. The data used in this research is primary data, where primary data collection was carried out by distributing questionnaires to MSME owners and the data analysis technique used used a Likert scale. The population in this research is MSMEs which only operate in the trade sector in Uneng City Village, Sikka Regency, as many as 176 MSME actors and the sampling technique uses the Slovin formula, namely 64 respondents. The data analysis method uses multiple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS Statistics version 22 program. The results of this research state that the variables of educational background, socialization of SAK EMKM and business scale partially and simultaneously have a significant effect on the understanding of MSME actors in preparing financial reports based on SAK EMKM.

Bandung as a Creative City in Indonesia: The Role of Community in Developing a Creative Tourism Urban Village Initiative

Bandung City Government, in collaboration with the Bandung City Culture and Tourism Office, has implemented the activation of creative tourism urban villages as a strategic measure to promote regional autonomy through the development of the creative economy. Prior studies have not extensively addressed the concept of creative tourism in urban villages as an alternative form of tourism. Therefore, this research aims to explore the involvement of communities in the management of creative tourism urban villages in Bandung, seeing them as the primary stakeholders. The objective of this study is to chart the potential and obstacles facing creative tourism urban villages in Bandung City from the perspective of tourism awareness groups as managers of creative tourism urban villages. The study employed qualitative methodologies with a phenomenological approach, specifically in-depth interviews with managers of creative tourism urban villages, as well as field observations of 8 activated creative tourism urban villages in Bandung city. The activation of creative tourism urban villages in the city of Bandung to promote the sustainable development goal is characterized by three primary themes: community dynamics, infrastructure readiness and external support. Community dynamics refers to the interactions that take place among community members as they collaborate to establish creative tourism urban villages in different regions through stories, conflicts and the active involvement of community members. The availability of infrastructure is contingent upon the presence of tangible assets that facilitate the execution of creative tourism urban village business operations, encompassing aspects such as road accessibility, parking availability, and building structures. Assistance from external entities refers to the support provided by external parties to foster the growth of creative tourism in urban villages, including mentoring, training, sponsorship, and collaboration networks. The activation of creative tourism urban villages needs to be accompanied by community independence and involvement in a bottom-up development process, not just a top-down one, so as to maintain the sustainability of creative tourism urban villages after the government no longer supports activities carried out by tourism awareness groups.

Analysis of the Application of Android-Based Financial Application Development to MSME Financial Statements in Pari Serdang Bedagai City Village

In today's Digital Era, a financial report can be prepared using an android-based financial application by utilizing an android smartphone which will make it easier for MSME actors in Pari Serdang Bedagai City Village to see and enter transactions in the form of purchases-sales, debts-receivables, payment of operational expenses and others. This system makes it easier for MSME actors in Kota Pari Serdang Bedagai Village to find out business developments effectively and efficiently so that in the future it can be used as access to capital to formal financial institutions so that they can strengthen the economy in moving the wheels of the economy. The purpose of this study is to find out the process of implementing and developing a simple android-based financial application as a medium in compiling financial reports for MSMEs in Pari Serdang Bedagai City Village. This type of research is descriptive using a qualitative approach. The data analysis techniques used in this study include observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study were obtained that in the financial recording of MSMEs in the area in the village of Pari Serdang Bedagai City, they have not used android-based financial applications, they still use simple and manual recording. Their obstacle is the lack of knowledge about android-based financial applications in compiling financial reports due to the level of education and lack of socialization. From the results of research and discussion, it is known that the level of education in the IT field affects the application and development of android-based financial applications in compiling financial reports.

Research on intelligent monitoring technology for roof damage of traditional Chinese residential buildings based on improved YOLOv8: taking ancient villages in southern Fujian as an example

In the process of preserving historical buildings in southern Fujian, China, it is crucial to provide timely and accurate statistical data to classify the damage of traditional buildings. In this study, a method based on the improved YOLOv8 neural network is proposed to select aerial photographs of six villages in Xiamen and Quanzhou cities in Fujian Province as the dataset, which contains a total of 3124 photographs. Based on the high-resolution orthophotographs obtained from UAV tilt photography, the YOLOv8 model was used to make predictions. The main task in the first stage is to select the buildings with historical value in the area, and the model's mAP (Mean Accuracy Rate) can reach 97.2% in the first stage task. The second stage uses the YOLOv8 model to segment the images selected in the first stage, detecting possible defects on the roofs, including collapses, missing tiles, unsuitable architectural additions, and vegetation encroachment. In the second stage of the segmentation task, the mAP reaches 89.4%, which is a 1.5% improvement in mAP50 (mean accuracy) compared to the original YOLOv8 model, and the number of parameters and GFLOPs are reduced by 22% and 15%, respectively. This method can effectively improve the disease detection efficiency of historical built heritage in southern Fujian under complex terrain and ground conditions.

Income of Kijang City Village: Impact of Working Capital, Technology, Experience, and Selling Price

The purpose of this research is to determine the influence of working capital, technology, experience, and selling prices on the income of fishermen in the Kijang Kota Village. This study utilizes both primary and secondary data. The research method employed is a quantitative descriptive method. The primary data consists of questionnaires, while secondary data includes records and data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Data collection techniques include questionnaires, documentation, and literature review, with 77 respondents answering a questionnaire containing 53 statements. The data analysis technique involves testing data validity and reliability, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression tests, and hypothesis testing. The multiple linear regression formula obtained from this research is Y = (0.585) + 0.303X1 + 0.392X2 – 0.144X3 + 0.304X4 + e. The t-test results show calculated t-values of 2.287 for working capital, 5.067 for technology, -1.348 for experience, and 3.244 for selling prices, while the tabulated t-value is 1.993. The F-test results indicate a calculated F-value of 85.191 and a tabulated F-value of 2.73. The coefficient of determination is 0.816, as seen from the Adjusted R Square value. Based on the data analysis results, it can be concluded that working capital, technology, experience, and selling prices, both individually and simultaneously, have an impact on the income of fishermen in the Kijang Kota Village. The influence of these four variables results in an 81.6% increase in the income of fishermen in the Kijang Kota Village, with the remaining percentage being influenced by variables not included in this study.

Analysis of the indoor thermal environment of traditional residents in the South Sichuan China region in summer and plum rainy seasons—taking Baiyang village in Yibin city as an example

ABSTRACT In hot summer and cold winter areas, the humid and sultry summer and rainy season problems have long affected the health of residents. Through a questionnaire survey and site measurements, the indoor thermal environment of typical southern Sichuan village houses was investigated. The average indoor humidity of the old traditional dwelling (85–95%) in the rainy season was much greater than that of the new rural house (70–80%), both of which are outside the standard thermal comfort range of the human body. In summer, the situation is slightly better but still uncomfortable. The APMV evaluation results reveal that in the rainy season, the new residential house is more comfortable than the traditional residential house, while in summer, the opposite situation occurs. The measurements show that the thermal inertia index of the old stone masonry house is large, which indicates that the house has a strong ability to resist temperature fluctuations. Therefore, we discussed different performance improvement strategies for these two types of rural residences. This study is conducive to improving the thermal environment of local residential buildings and provides a reference for the future design of rural ecological residential buildings.

XRF Analysis of Village and Urban Basalt Architecture in the Hippos Territorium during the Roman Period

AbstractThis case study examines the use of X‐ray fluorescence (XRF) as an effective method for defining distinct chemical compositions of local basalt stone from different sources in the Roman period, even when their quarries have not been identified. It also deals with the archaeological question if public and monumental structures from a village and urban site shared the same stone sources and stonemason's workshops. Ninety‐six samples from the Hippos Territorium, mainly from the polis of Hippos and the village of Majduliyya, were analyzed. XRF was found to be an effective method for defining distinct chemical compositions of local basalt materials from different sources. The distinct composition of the basalt stones between the two sites provided valuable insights into socio‐economic relationships, shedding light on the nature of city–village dynamics in the region. Additionally, it aids in discerning whether diverse basalt sources were utilized in both private and public constructions, as well as installations within a single site. Methodological questions and the application of this method in the archaeological research of basalt‐based architecture are also addressed.

Innovation Of Administrative Services In Pemurus Village In South Banjarmasin Sub-District, Banjarmasin City

This research aims to find out about the innovation of administrative services in Pemurus Village in South Banjarmasin District, Banjarmasin City. Innovation in research is defined as a planned change in the form of ideas, ideas, new objects/objects or technology and the use of new equipment within the scope of government agencies, namely urban village. The type of research used is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The findings in the study are that Pemurus Dalam Village participates in innovating administrative services with the siPalui Application, namely Palui Mobile, which can be accessed by residents to get mail services in all urban villages in Banjarmasin city only through Smartphones, instagram and whatsApp. The existing facilities are quite good and the condition of the village office is comfortable and clean and the office employees are ready to serve the community who want to take care of administration/certificates and others. This readiness is also stated in the instagram account of the village office and a whatsApp number has been provided to communicate which means that the Village Management has carried out delivery innovations. However, this application often experiences network disruptions so that village employees cannot run the application and also for a while the application cannot be accessed due to application updates and application system maintenance.

Exploring the gap in people’s travel behavior between urban villages and commercial housing: The role of built environment

As urban expansion accelerates, travel distance and vehicle miles traveled continue to grow. Simultaneously, agricultural land is gradually giving way to urban construction, and ancient communities are transforming into urban villages as a result of being surrounded by urban land. Given the widespread distribution of urban villages in Chinese cities, which accommodate a large number of low-income groups, paying attention to the travel behavior of these groups is beneficial for promoting the fair development ofsociety. Therefore, this study utilized resident survey data from urban villages and commercial housing communities of Zhuhai in 2018 and built a structural equation modeling analysis framework to investigate the differences in the influence of the built environment (BE) on the travel behavior of these two types of housing. The results showed that the BE of urban villages had a significantly different impact on travel behavior compared to commercial housing. This discovery can help authorities better understand the impact of the BE of urban villages on travel distance, transit choices, and walking/cycling decisions. Moreover, this research is conducive to proposing targeted measures for sustainable transportation development in urban villages.

Assessing the quality of drinking water from selected water sources in Mbarara city, South-western Uganda.

This study assessed the physical, chemical, and microbiological quality with emphasis on risk score, source apportionment, geochemistry, feacal coliforms and water quality index of drinking water from selected water sources. A cross-sectional study was conducted in six villages in Mbarara city, south-western Uganda. Each selected source was inspected using a WHO-adopted sanitary inspection questionnaire. Each source's risk score was calculated. Thirty-seven samples were taken from one borehole, nine open dug wells, four rain harvest tanks, and twenty-three taps. The values for apparent color and phosphate were higher than the permissible level as set by the World Health Organization and Ugandan standards (US EAS 12). The isolated organisms were Klebsiella spp. (8.11%), Citrobacter divergens (62.16%), Citrobacter fluendii (2.7%), E. coli (35.14%), Enterobacter aerogenes (8.11%), Enterobacter agglomerus (5.4%), Proteus spp. (2.7%), Enterobacter cloacae (13.5%), and Proteus mirabilis (2.7%). Twelve water sources (32.4%) had water that was unfit for human consumption that was unfit for human consumption (Grade E), Five sources (13.5%) had water that had a very poor index (Grade D), nine (24.3%) had water of poor index (Grade C), eight (21.6%) had water of good water index (Grade B), and only three (8.1%) had water of excellent water quality index (Grade A). The piper trilinear revealed that the dominant water type of the area were Mgso4 and Caso4 type. Gibbs plot represents precipitation dominance. PCA for source apportionment showed that well, tap and borehole water account for the highest variations in the quality of drinking water. These results suggest that drinking water from sources in Mbarara city is not suitable for direct human consumption without treatment. We recommend necessary improvements in water treatment, distribution, and maintenance of all the available water sources in Mbarara City, South Western Uganda.

Research on constructing a safety assessment model for the “Environment-Psychology” space in urban villages based on CPTED theory

ABSTRACT This study aimed to develop an “environment-psychological” safety assessment model for urban villages. The objective was to create a comprehensive safety evaluation and identify key influencing factors. To start, establish a spatial environmental safety assessment system for urban villages, drawing on the six principles of Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) theory. Use Analytic Hierarchy Process and Bayesian network analysis for determining weights and scores. The research findings reveal that: 1) The safety of the spatial environment in urban villages is directly induced by factors such as “natural surveillance” and “image maintenance” while being indirectly impacted by factors like “territoriality” and “access control.” Notably, the effects of activity support and target hardening on spatial environmental safety are found to be insubstantial. 2) Z urban village in Xuzhou city has a level IV spatial environmental safety rating. Factors include line-of-sight transparency, environmental hygiene, and road layout. The proposed optimization measures include improving space layout, enhancing surveillance levels, and maintaining a favorable environment for crime prevention. This study aids decision-makers in establishing priority sequences for spatial planning during urban village renewal. The “Environment-Psychology” model enhances the explanatory power of environmental factors on psychological elements and can aid in spatial optimization strategies.

Optimizing Agricultural Cultivation, Fisheries, Processed Products and Marketing in Mugarsari Urban Village of Tasikmalaya City through Innovative and Sustainable Approaches

The optimalisation of agricultural cultivation, fisheries, processed products, and marketing in Mugarsari urban village of Tasikmalaya city aims to increase productivity, quality, and marketability of agricultural and fishery products in Mugarsari village through innovative and sustainable approaches. Innovative approaches include the application of new technologies and methods in agricultural cultivation and fisheries, while sustainable approaches involve the use of environmentally friendly technologies and resource management. The results of this optimization process are expected to be increased productivity and quality of agricultural and fishery products in Mugarsari village, as well as increased income for local farmers and fishers through improved marketing. Additionally, this optimization process is expected to have a positive impact on the environment through the application of environmentally friendly technologies and resource management.

Kutu Sisik pada Tanaman Apel di Kecamatan Bumiaji, Kota Batu

Scale lice have attacked apple fields in 8 villages in Bumiaji District, Batu City, namely Giripurno, Tulungrejo, Pandanrejo, Sumbergondo, Bulukerto, Punten, Gunungsari, and Bumiaji villages since 2005. Knowledge of the biological aspects of this pest can be done using sticky bands. This is aimed at controlling pests. Determination of sample plants was carried out systematically as many as 18 sample plants on manalagi apple (Malus sylvestris). The sample plants were apple plants that were attacked by scale lice. The type of adhesive treatment was adjusted to the variation of position (east, west, central) and research height (1m and 1.5m). The results obtained were that the pest found was Diaspidiotus perniciosus and the natural enemy found was Encarsia strenua. The part that has the most attacks is the stem/twig. The eastern branch with a height of 1.5 m has a higher even distribution of scale lice than the other parts. The highest dominance index (C) of scale lice of 0.29 was obtained by the middle-adhesive treatment of height 1m or rootstock. The pattern of population distribution based on sticky bands is random and tends to be individualistic.

Research on Leased Space of Urban Villages in Large Cities Based on Fuzzy Kano Model Evaluation and Building Performance Simulation: A Case Study of Laojuntang Village, Chaoyang District, Beijing

China is in the transition period of urbanization, and the imbalance of land use generated during the original rapid development of megacities still exists, resulting in the preservation of a large number of urban villages in the peripheral areas of cities. Unlike formal housing, these villages are heavily influenced by the confrontation and interweaving between top-down policies of local governments and bottom-up spontaneous construction by local villagers, resulting in a diverse and complex status quo. At the same time, self-built housing in urban villages has become a gathering place for a large number of low-income migrants due to its relatively low rental prices. In terms of the research of urban villages on the current situation of housing, the real needs of users and housing performance are mostly subjective judgments and conclusions. Therefore, the entry point of this paper is the leased space and the leasers, taking Laojuntang Village in Chaoyang District of Beijing as the research object and analyzing its current problems and the real needs of users. This paper adopts an integrated approach of fuzzy Kano model evaluation and building performance simulation. After analyzing the data and discussing the influencing factors, this paper identifies the specific problems and user needs that exist in leased spaces in Laojuntang Village: (1) The architectural performance of leased space is a Must-be Quality, which is the bottom-line requirement and must be improved. (2) The quality of the basic facilities and equipment of the leased space is mostly a One-dimensional Quality, Attractive Quality, and the degree of importance is lower than that of the building performance. (3) The external activity facilities of the leased space are mostly undifferentiated needs, for which the local users are not particularly prominent. (4) The scale and plot ratio of local housing is relatively high, and users are dissatisfied and complaining, which falls under the category of Reverse Quality.

Exploring the Path of Village Protection and Renewal Strategy Based on the Maximum Information Entropy Model in the Context of Rural Revitalisation

Abstract A comprehensive and systematic view and solution to the protection and renewal of traditional villages can help actively promote and implement the strategy of rural revitalization. This paper constructs a village protection and renewal evaluation system based on the maximum information entropy model, utilizes the entropy weight method to build the index weight evaluation matrix, and introduces the confidence factor to correct the index weights, realizing the combination of the system. Then, based on the linear weighting method to carry out a comprehensive assessment of village protection and renewal development, and based on the assessment results to formulate a personalized village protection and renewal strategy, and the feasibility analysis of the strategy with the village of T city. The results show that village protection and renewal in T city villages generally indicate an upward trend from 2016 to 2023, and the comprehensive evaluation index reached a peak of 0.3227 in 2023. In the case study, the linear regression equations fitted to the scattering points of the uptown residential area villages and the entire T city villages’ axes intersect with a difference in slopes of 14.5123. The angle of the regression line continues to increase in comparison with 2016, indicating that the role of traditional village protection planning is significant. Village protection planning plays an important role in verifying the effectiveness of the formulated village protection and renewal strategy, which can promote the development of village regional characteristics for the good.
