This article discusses the urgency of effective multimedia-based teaching materials in improving students' learning experience as a solution to the challenges of the times. By looking at the challenges of stagnant traditional education and the lack of utilization of technology in developing teaching materials. By utilizing various multimedia elements such as text, images, audio, and video, this research explores the use of multimedia on student motivation and understanding in the learning process. This article uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to explore various studies related to the use of Multimedia in the preparation of teaching materials. The results show that the use of multimedia-based teaching materials not only increases students' interest in learning but also significantly improves learning outcomes. Feedback from users shows that interactive and visual elements in learning materials are very helpful in understanding complex concepts. This study concludes that the integration of multimedia in education can be an effective strategy to improve the quality of learning in the digital era.

Technology Applications in Waste Management across Southeast Asia: A Bibliometric Analysis over the Past Decades

Using technology in waste management in the current era is crucial in enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and positive environmental impact. Therefore, this research aims to understand publication trends related to technology applications in waste management from 2013 to 2024 across Southeast Asia through bibliometric analysis. In this analysis, VOSviewer software and the bibliometric analysis applications RStudio and biblioshiny were employed to analyse the bibliographic data obtained graphically. After filtering, 553 documents from the Scopus database were analysed. The results revealed fluctuating trends in the number of publications, with the Journal of Cleaner Production being the highest contributor with 33 documents. Malaysia ranked first in the number of documents, with 452 focusing on technology utilisation in waste management. Additionally, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and the National University of Singapore were the most productive affiliations, each contributing the highest number of publications, with 58 each. Two institutions within the top twenty also represented Indonesia as the most relevant affiliations, namely (1) Bandung Institute of Technology and (2) Universitas Sebelas Maret. According to the research findings, 68 Indonesian researchers contributed to the analysed theme, with the top author originating from the Czech Republic with 13 documents. The globally most cited documents, published in the Journal of Resources, Conservation, and Recycling, have been cited 535 times. Visualisation of research trends revealed popular topics aligned with research and discussion, including waste management, sustainable development, recycling, waste disposal, solid waste, municipal solid waste, anaerobic digestion, waste treatment, biogas, pyrolysis, and environmental impact. These findings aid researchers in guiding future analyses and determining research themes, especially in waste management technology, while also assisting in resource allocation and evidence-based strategy formulation to enhance waste management efficiency and sustainability. Nonetheless, the study recommends further research using diverse data sources, bibliographic connections, and qualitative analysis.

The development of information and communication technology has bought significant impacts in various aspects of human life, including in terms of connectivity and access to information. The utilization of internet-based digital technology for marketing products or services to consumers is growing, one of which is through the Instagram application. Digital marketing is the process of promoting and finding markets through social network-based digital media. This research aims to design Instagram Ads content as a digital marketing solution at Indibiz PT Telkom, focusing on the promotion of products and services. The method used in descriptive qualitative, with data obtained through interviews and observations. The results showed that creative and interactive promotional content on Instagram can increase consumer engagement and contribute to increases sales. Reforming Tax Law Enforcement: The Role of Core Tax Administration System Digitalization and the Ultimum Remedium Principle

This study aims to analyze the impact of the digitalization of the Core Tax Administration System (CTAS) on tax law enforcement, with a particular focus on the application of the ultimum remedium principle. The research method employed is normative legal research, involving an in-depth analysis of tax law literature, relevant regulations, and case studies of CTAS implementation. The urgency of this research lies in addressing inefficiencies, inequities, and the lack of transparency in traditional tax law enforcement through the utilization of digital technology. The findings reveal that CTAS digitalization enhances efficiency, transparency, and data management in tax administration while strengthening law enforce ment processes through improved oversight and compliance. However, this digitalization also presents challenges, including data security risks, privacy concerns, and compliance with applicable regulations. The novelty of this research lies in integrating the ultimum remedium principle within the digital framework, advocating for a proportional approach to tax violations by prioritizing voluntary compliance and corrective measures before escalating to more severe enforcement actions. This study provides strategic contributions to legal policy development, offering essential insights for policymakers, legal practitioners, and system developers in designing a tax law enforcement system that is fair, transparent, and responsive to the demands of the digital era.

A Study on the Mechanisms Influencing Older Adults' Willingness to Use Digital Displays in Museums from a Cognitive Age Perspective.

As older adults age, changes in their physiological, psychological, and cognitive functions often lead to inherent anxiety and fear regarding the use of digital technologies. Cognitive age, reflecting an older adult's mental perception of their chronological age, is a crucial moderating factor in shaping their willingness and behavior towards technology adoption. However, the mechanisms through which cognitive age impacts the behavior of older adults within the realm of digital technology utilization remain unclear. Thus, grounded in the Extended Technology Acceptance Model (ETAM) and employing structural equation modeling, this study intends to investigate mechanisms which influence older adults' behavioral intentions towards the use of museum digital displays. Consequently, it confirms that attitudes mediate the correlation between perceived usefulness, subjective norm, perceived self-efficacy, and the behavioral intention towards museum digital display utilization. Perceived ease of use does not directly affect attitudes, but instead exerts an indirect impact on attitude through perceived usefulness. Cognitive age negatively moderates the relationship between attitudes and the behavioral intention to use digital technologies. Additionally, the mediating role of attitudes in the correlation between older adults' perception of museum digital displays and behavioral intention is moderated by cognitive age. Specifically, older adults with a higher cognitive age value (who perceive themselves to be younger than their chronological age) exhibit a weaker mediating effect of attitudes on the relationship between perceived usefulness and behavioral intention compared to those with a lower cognitive age value (who perceive themselves to be older than their chronological age). The findings seek to unbox the "black box" of how cognitive age mediates the correlation between attitudes and behavioral intention towards the use of museum digital displays among older adults, providing valuable theoretical insights for the bidirectional enhancement of digital technology utilization, the overall well-being of older adults, and high-quality development in museums.

Adaptation in communication technology utilization: caring for individuals with chronic conditions in South Asia during the Covid-19 pandemic

ABSTRACT Background During the Covid-19 pandemic, people with chronic conditions experienced delayed or missed care, while their carers endured social isolation, loneliness, and reduced support. Information communication technology (ICT) can be utilized to encourage continuity of care, address misinformation, and allocate support. This study aimed to identify factors associated with the ICT adaptation of South Asian carers of individuals with chronic conditions by comparing changes in ICT utilization and preferences before and during the pandemic. Method 416 South Asian carers reporting feelings of loneliness and isolation were identified from the Coping with Loneliness, Isolation and Covid-19 (CLIC) online survey. Descriptive statistics and multinomial regression models were utilized. Result The most commonly used ICT modality was auditory, followed by written and audio-visual. Four variables identified were: social network size and relationship proximity, Covid-19-induced distress, age, and living arrangements. We identified a negative correlation between social network size and ICT frequency/intensity, reductions in communication frequency/intensity associated with Covid-19-induced distress, working-age carer (18-60) preference adaptation toward written communication during the pandemic, written and auditory ICT fluency in carers spending time alone by choice, and aversion from auditory ICT in carers who lived and were often alone involuntarily. Conclusion The findings provide insights into South Asian carers’ ICT usage, preferences, and adaptation in response to the pandemic. The findings aid in the development of health and social care pathways that fulfil local caregivers’ unmet support and resource needs.

Utilization of Virtual Reality Technology in Tourism Destination Promotion Strategy to Increase Tourist Attraction

This study aims to explore the utilization of Virtual Reality (VR) technology in tourism destination promotion strategies to increase tourist attraction through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The study was conducted by selecting literature from academic databases such as Google Scholar, Scopus, and DOAJ, using keywords such as “virtual reality,” “destination promotion,” and “tourism” within the time span of 2014-2024. The results showed that VR significantly influenced travelers' perceptions by creating deep emotional engagement and increasing visit intentions. VR is also able to strengthen destination image through immersive experiences that enrich tourists' interactions with virtual environments. However, challenges were found in the adoption of VR by certain demographic groups, such as elderly travelers who tend to be more resistant to this technology. This research highlights the gaps in understanding regarding the wider application of VR, as well as the need for further research to develop effective and holistic promotional strategies to integrate VR with conventional methods. Future research should focus on ways to maintain the authenticity of the tourist experience through VR as well as reaching more diverse market segments.

Keterampilan Digital: Pengaruh Kompetensi Digital terhadap Minat Bisnis Online

The importance of this research lies in the inevitability of today's digital technological advancements, marking a period where prioritizing work efficiency and effectiveness has become essential, giving rise to what is known as the digital age. A large number of younger individuals are captivated by the complexity of technology, often using it solely for recreational purposes. The impact of such behavior stems from the inappropriate utilization of technology, potentially turning the next generation into mere consumers in a consumer-driven society. The younger generation must be more digitally savvy so as to encourage the utilization of digital technology to be more productive in order to foster the seeds of reliable and skilled young business people who are technologically literate. Digital competence is not only understanding the hardware of a technology, but also the software, and it is inseparable. The purpose of this study is to determine the influence between the digital competence of the young generation of Makassar city on online business interest, as well as what factors that are supporting and inhibiting. The method used was through a quantitative approach which was analyzed through validity, reliability, normality, linearity and simple liner regression tests with the help of the SPSS version 24 application. The respondents of this study were 222 teenagers in Makassar City. The results of the study state that there is a significant influence between digital competence on interest in doing business online by 39.3%, and 60.7% is influenced by other factors. The supporting factors for adolescents include the ability to use hardware such as gadgets/smartphones that are high, as well as the ability to search for information online, while the obstacles are the lack of ability to use commerce platforms and the lack of interest to start an online business, moreover reluctant to run it. Other factors that influence interest in doing business online include the availability of the capital, fear of bearing the risk of failure, etc. The limitations in this study are the lack of respondents who filled out questionnaires and still need to be researched on aspects of adolescent psychology.

To gain a comprehensive understanding of the current status of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology in wheat crop growth monitoring and its development trajectory, this paper quantifies and visualizes the relevant literature published between 2015 and 2024 in the Web of Science database. By conducting a comprehensive analysis of high-frequency keywords, the article presents a summary of the prevailing research topics in this field. This can assist researchers in further familiarizing themselves with the relevant literature and providing a novel perspective on the utilization of UAV technology in wheat crop growth monitoring.

Syngas for Internal Combustion Engines, Current State, and Future Prospects: A Systematic Review

Biomass is a potential alternative energy source. This study offers a comprehensive analysis of biomass gasification as an energy source, particularly its application in diesel engines, gas engines, and gas turbines. No specific research has been identified that addresses syngas utilization as fuel for internal combustion engines. The paper employs the PRISMA methodology to select and analyze observations. The examination encompasses four subjects: biomass, reactor gasification, operational parameters, and syngas for internal combustion. The Van Krevelen diagram is employed to analyze the characteristics of biomass that produce high-energy syngas, efficiency, variable calorific value of syngas, and decreased power output. Feedstock, gasification reactors, and operational conditions significantly influence the generation of biomass gasification syngas. A downdraft reactor is appropriate for small- to medium-scale gasification. The utilization of biomass gasification technology and syngas as fuel for internal combustion engines is investigated. The hydrogen-to-carbon ratio (H/C), oxygen-to-carbon ratio (O/C), high temperature, low ash content, low equivalence ratio (ER), and the amount of air in the syngas all affect its calorific value. The advantages of utilizing syngas include reduced pollutants, decreased reliance on diesel fuel, and a reduction in diesel fuel use in internal combustion engines. The disadvantages of syngas include necessary engine modifications, decreased thermal efficiency, the calorific value of syngas, and decreased power generation.

Utilization of temperature control technology to improve the quality of Assyifa Black Garlic at the Utsman bin Affan Islamic boarding school

One alternative way to eliminate the distinctive properties of garlic is through processing, namely heat treatment which can improve the taste and create new qualities of garlic without removing the nutritional components of raw garlic, known as black garlic. However, several times there are often obstacles in fulfilling black garlic which can be produced on a large scale, does not require a long time, and is of high quality. Based on the considerations above, research was conducted on using temperature control technology to improve the quality of Asssyifa black garlic at the Utsman bin Affan Islamic boarding school. The equipment used is a thermolysis device with a capacity of 15 kg to 30 kg. This tool has a design similar to a cake-making oven but has a special rack and pan for garlic production. This research uses a survey method by looking directly at the physical characteristics of garlic processed into black garlic. Apart from that, this research also uses organoleptic tests to measure the quality of black garlic in terms of taste on the tongue. The research results, Black garlic Assyifa which is produced using a thermolysis device using the best temperature control is 70oC for 9 days, which has a predominantly sweet taste and a blackish color.

Analysis of the impact of human resources employees’ perceptions on the process of digital transformation

PurposeEmployees’ perceptions of digital transformation (DT) affect digital technology adoption and utilization. These attitudes, such as digital preparation or acceptance of digitization, are linked to personal and organisational resources. The goal is to assess employees’ impressions of (1) DT in general and (2) the organization’s DT efforts, focusing on how these efforts affect their field of activity and (3) their DT expectations.Design/methodology/approachUsing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use Technology (UTAUT), a model was built and examined from three perspectives: demographic characteristics, employee views of DT and organisational activities in DT. We used semi-structured interviews with ten international HR employees to validate the model.FindingsBecause the IT company we studied has several digital technologies, global HR departments, and varied organisational contexts, we started with “purposive sampling”. The principal findings offer the model an extensive understanding of how demographic characteristics, employees’ views of digital transformation (DT), and organisational DT activities affect digital technology uptake and use expectations.Originality/valueThis research may help companies plan for HR department digital technology installation and use. The approach can enable further research on digital technology uptake in businesses and practical ways to meet employee expectations.

This article discusses the urgency of reconstructing interactive and digital-based educational methodologies as a solution to face the ever-changing developments of the times. By looking at the challenges of stagnant traditional education, such as methodological conservatism and lack of utilization of technology, this article uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to explore various studies related to the use of digital platforms in education. Through an analysis of digital media such as Kahoot! and Duolingo, it highlights how interactive features can increase student engagement, motivate learning, and strengthen critical thinking. Some solutions to overcome the problems of digital media education include; improving technological infrastructure, digital competency training for teachers, and integrating technology with the curriculum as a whole.

Breath of Life: The Therapeutic Role of Pranayama in Enhancing Respiratory Health and Quality of Life in Cancer Care

This review systematically examines the therapeutic potential of Pranayama - controlled breathing techniques - in enhancing respiratory health and overall quality of life for cancer patients. The article provides a detailed analysis of key Pranayama practices, including Deep Breathing, Nadi Shodhana, Kapalabhati, and Bhramari, focusing on their physiological mechanisms and clinical impacts. Evidence suggests that these practices significantly improve pulmonary function, enhance oxygen saturation, and alleviate symptoms such as breathlessness - crucial factors in managing the respiratory challenges associated with cancer treatment. Furthermore, Pranayama has demonstrated efficacy in reducing psychological distress, including anxiety, depression, and stress, thereby improving emotional resilience and mental clarity in cancer patients. The review highlights the integration of Pranayama into oncology care, proposing practical, evidence-based guidelines for its safe and effective application. It also identifies critical research gaps, including the need for studies on personalized Pranayama protocols, the long-term effects on cancer survivorship, and the utilization of digital health technologies to enhance accessibility. By bridging traditional yogic practices with contemporary cancer care, Pranayama is presented as a complementary, holistic intervention that supports both physical recovery and emotional well-being, contributing to a higher quality of life for cancer patients.

Developing and Testing a Mobile Application for Autistic Children Participating in a Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program at a Midwestern Equine Assisted Service Center: An Exploratory Sequential Mixed Methods Study

A potential approach to translating benefits acquired from therapeutic horseback riding (THR) sessions into the daily routines of autistic children is by involving parents as co-interventionists through the utilization of digital technology. In this three-phase exploratory sequential mixed methods study, we develop and test a parent-mediated mobile application complementing a THR program for autistic children. Qualitative interviews informed the digital tool’s development, followed by a quantitative assessment of usability and social validity. Findings present proof of concept, indicating that participants perceived the parent-mediated mobile application as useful and user-friendly. This article contributes to mixed methods literature a pioneering approach in the field of THR incorporating subjective and objective assessments into the development and evaluation of the parent-mediated mobile application. This study aims to analyze how Starbucks integrates product innovation, customer experience, technology utilization, strategic location selection, and loyalty programs to align with local preferences. Using a qualitative approach, this research examines the challenges and opportunities in adapting global strategies within Indonesia’s unique cultural and consumer landscape. The findings reveal that localization and cultural sensitivity are key drivers of Starbucks' success in Indonesia, enabling the company to maintain market leadership amidst increasing competition.

Blockchain assessment: the future of credentialing

Blockchain technologies have been used for a variety of sophisticated data management applications, most noteworthy being used as the infrastructure for cryptocurrencies. This paper explores the potential of using blockchain technologies in education, focusing on the opportunities and potential futures for flexible and adaptive credentialing and certification. Using social inquiry methods, the futuring tool of Causal Layered Analysis (CLA) explored the potential and desirable futures of blockchain credentialing and the potential impact of blockchain credentialing for transforming education. Especially valuable was the disruptive potential to formal education blockchain credentialing might present, opening possibilities for nonformal and informal educational opportunities. Taking a whole-systems approach, the utilization of blockchain technologies for intricate record manipulations, accounting, and credential certification offers a more comprehensive perspective on the issues, promises, and challenges tied to their use in education. This study’s implications extend to the recognition of broader social factors that play a crucial role in effecting transformative change within education. These factors pose challenges to the conventional K-12 and higher education curriculum, as well as the overall educational infrastructure.

Integrating spore trapping technology with loop-mediated isothermal amplification assay for surveillance and sustainable management of rice false smut disease.

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is a vital crop feeding more than half of the world's population, with production occurring predominantly in Asian countries. However, rice cultivation faces challenges from various fronts, including biotic stresses intensified by climate change. False smut, caused by Ustilaginoidea virens, has emerged as a significant threat to rice production globally. The application of curative fungicides after symptom appearance has limited scope in managing this disease since the infection process usually starts during the early flowering stage of rice crops. This study investigates the utilization of spore-trapping technology coupled with Loop-Mediated Isothermal Amplification (LAMP) assay for monitoring airborne U. virens inocula in rice fields. For early detection and quantification of U. virens, sampling rods coated with silicone grease were deployed to collect airborne spores, and DNA extraction was performed using a modified method. Both PCR and LAMP assays were employed for detection, with LAMP offering advantages of rapidity, sensitivity, and simplicity. The study demonstrated the superior sensitivity of LAMP compared to PCR, detecting U. virens DNA at concentrations as low as 100 femtograms. Continuous monitoring of U. virens inoculum using spore trapping revealed the spatio-temporal dynamics of U. virens dispersal, providing valuable insights for disease management. Implementing a fungicidal application schedule based on airborne inoculum detection led to significant reductions in both false smut incidence and severity and improved crop yield. The meteorological parameters including minimum temperature, relative humidity in the morning and evening, sunshine, and solar radiation were found to be correlated with disease incidence. Multi-operator validation confirmed the robustness and specificity of the LAMP assay. Overall, this integrated approach offers a proactive strategy for monitoring and managing false smut disease, enhancing sustainable rice production and food security.
