Empowering and Influencing Factors of Intellectual and Spiritual Capital in Improving Organizational Performance at Tourism Institutions

This research aims to measure factors that influence intellectual and spiritual capital in increasing organizational performance at tourism institutions in Banda Aceh City through the variable organization. The methodology used is quantitative. Data was collected from respondents using a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale. Seventy-five questionnaires were distributed in all to the Banda Aceh City Tourism Institution. Sample selection utilized a disproportionate technique of stratified random sampling. The research data underwent descriptive, and structural equation modeling analysis using SPSS and SEM AMOS software. The analysis that was produced was: Research has demonstrated that intellectual capital has a substantial and favorable impact on the functioning of organizations, that is 0.000 < 0.05 as the significant value; spiritual capital has a -0.070 direct effect on organizational performance; the coefficient of the indirect effect is 0.273, the mediation process has a substantial impact, and the effect of mediation has been proved to be significant, the coefficient for the indirect effect is 0.458, at the lower level for intellectual capital boot of 0.227, and the upper level for intellectual capital of 0.676, with a 95% confidence interval.

AI Integration on Capacity Building among University Graduate in Tourism Industry

The study assessed integration of AI in capacity building among university graduate in Tourism Industry. The study was started by identify the application of AI in tourism industry and evaluate graduate capability on applying those AI applications related to tourism industry. An additional objective was to identify challenges and provide solution by examine under which circumstances the adoption of AI applications could enable tourism graduates to increase their performance and competency in job market. Furthermore, the study explored the contribution of AI awareness and AI tools optimization to improve graduate employability through Conceptual frame work derived by RBV theory and Goal setting theory. The researchers utilized descriptive research methodology which employed both qualitative and quantitative method. A sample of 55 students from the institute of tourism SUZA were provided by questionnaire to answer specified questions and interview was used to get data from experts in tourism industry. Subsequently, SPSS and Thematic analysis were used to analyze the responded data. The findings noted various tourism students using AI technology in different activities such as Google translator, Google map, gps track, self-service kiosks etc. Moreover, the results of the findings explored the adequacy of existing AI infrastructure at tourism institute is not good in terms of curriculum adaptation. However, the findings further revealed that, there were few number of students who have no idea about AI which result delaying factors during job application and less awareness of online information. Moreover, the findings indicated that high percentage of graduate students agreed that AI has great impact on studies that enhance graduate employability in today world.

Potential For Night Culinary Tourism On Jalan Pekalipan Cirebon

Research has been carried out on the culinary potential of mala m on Jalan Pekalipan Cirebon. The method used is a descriptive method by conducting surveys, interviews and secondary data analysis from various sources that can be accounted for. The results of the research indicate that Pekalipan culinary tourism located on Pekalipan street is the first culinary tourism carried out by the Cirebon City Government. Pekalipan Culinary Tourism was inaugurated as one of the culinary destinations through the Pekalipan Festival activities, which was inaugurated on Saturday, September 22, 2022, Pekalipan Culinary Tourism: The first culinary tour in the city of Cirebon initiated by the Cirebon City Government. Pekalipan culinary tourism has 15 traders, each with culinary specialties served to visitors, both Cirebon specialties and contemporary foods. Pekalipan culinary tourism has been used as a tourism destination that can be developed by the city government by referring to the aspects that must be fulfilled as a tourism destination by looking at the 4 A aspects, namely attraction (attraction), accessible (system achieved), amenities (facilities) and ancillary (tourism institutions). Pekalipan Culinary Tourism, as one of the culinary tourism in Cirebon City, can be developed as one of the attractions in the city of Cirebon as a tourism destination, but the following steps must be taken: There is a close cooperative relationship with various nearby tourist objects such as the Kacirebonan palace, Kasepuhan palace, and Kanoman palace to attract visitors to Pekalipan culinary tourism. There must be improvements and additions of facilities that visitors can use and utilize, such as toilets, safe and comfortable parking lots, and entertainment art and culture typical of Cirebon so that visitors will feel more typical of the city of Cirebon. The formation of forums in the form of Pekalipan culinary tourism institutions to form activities to attract tourists to visit Pekalipan culinary tourism.

Through collaborative efforts, including needs assessment, joint action planning, training sessions, environmental assessments, and program development, the project aimed to enhance awareness and adoption of eco-friendly practices. Key findings highlight the importance of collaboration, tailored training, and targeted environmental assessments in advancing sustainability goals in the accommodation industry.

Navigating tourism innovations in the post-COVID-19 era: A case study of Lithuania

The goal of this article is to uncover the innovative changes that have emerged in Tourist Information Centres (TICs) in Lithuania as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The article is based on the assessment of primary research data collected through completed in-depth questionnaires. The research results revealed that a significant number of TICs transformed their activities while adapting them to local tourists. TICs introduced new products, attractions, and services, updated webpages and mobile applications, and created online souvenir shops. The research results indicated that, because of the lockdown, some state tourism institutions in the regions, along with local service providers, experienced a ‘renaissance’ and a successful period. New products and services were essential for the tourism sector’s survival, and the majority of them continue to be used in the post-COVID reality, providing opportunities for greater resilience and reduced dependence on unexpected circumstances in the future. This article addresses discussion points related to general changes in tourism services in the context of resilience and the application of innovations. Additionally, the article introduces the concept of Re-tourism, which adds value to the development of the theoretical framework for post-COVID tourism.

ЕФЕКТИВНІСТЬ ПІДГОТОВКИ МАЙБУТНІХ БАКАЛАВРІВ ГОТЕЛЬНО-РЕСТОРАННОЇ СПРАВИ В УМОВАХ ЗВО

The article deals with the formation of a specialist in the hotel and restaurant business at the "bachelor" level, which takes place in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On Higher Education" (2014) and other regulatory acts. The standard of higher education for bachelors is approved by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science №. 384 of March 4, 2020. The law emphasizes the importance of professional mobility, which allows for training and internships in other institutions. In 2024, a new industry standard was approved for the specialties "Hotel management" and "Hotel and restaurant business". A survey of 43 students of the Institute of Health, Sports and Tourism showed that 100% consider the training of specialists in higher educational institutions necessary. The problem of training future specialists requires improvement of the educational system, refinement of plans and development of new materials in accordance with modern requirements. Specialists in the hotel and restaurant business must possess personal, professional, general, social (soft-skills), digital skills, as well as basic and professional competencies. Key competencies include social, psychological and environmental aspects that contribute to the development of the individual for the benefit of society. The rapid development of innovative technologies in the restaurant industry makes it difficult for students to familiarize themselves with new programs. Graduates must know modern forms of customer service and be ready to work with various equipment. To connect theory with practice, it is worth using computer programs adapted to the specifics of the industry. The active use of video materials in education helps to make classes visual and accessible. Research shows that video content is better digested, which is important due to the limited production practices in hotels and restaurants. Modern education is constantly improving, integrating various fields of knowledge into professional activity. A specialist in the hotel and restaurant business cannot be considered qualified without knowledge of information and communication technologies, the ability to work on the Internet, communication in a foreign language, economic calculations and knowledge of foreign cultures. The integration of professional, economic, cultural and humanitarian knowledge is necessary for the formation of professional mobility of bachelors. One of the approaches is integrative. Toward an improved, holistic understanding of ‘meaningful destination’

ABSTRACT This conceptual paper has two primary aims – to provide a definition and a holistic conceptual framework for a ‘meaningful destination’. This study draws upon foundational literature that explores different ways to interpret meaningfulness, the processes of meaning-making, and how individuals and institutions perceive destinations as meaningful. It incorporates insights from diverse fields, including positive psychology, existential philosophy, consumer experience and place branding, to establish a conceptual framework. Six essential elements or dimensions of meaningful destination are presented, drawn from both an individual perspective (tourists, residents, and tourism employees) and an institutional perspective (DMOs and tourism businesses). These dimensions encompass (a) Ethno-cultural (b) Ecological (c) Eudaimonia and spiritual (d) Economic (e) Equity of destination brand and (f) Ethical governance dimensions. The first three dimensions hold significant importance for individuals as they contribute to the formation of meaningful relationships and engagements with self, others, and the environmental settings. In contrast, the final three dimensions hold importance for tourism institutions as DMOs and tourism businesses, reflecting their roles and objectives and guiding their efforts in resource allocation, destination competitiveness, policy development, and business management. The paper concludes with future research trajectories and suggests pressing research agendas in relation to meaningful destinations.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC ANALYSIS OF THE EFFICIENCY OF IMPLEMENTATION OF THE TOURIST AND RECREATIONAL POTENTIAL OF THE ZAKARPATTIA OBLAST IN THE FIELD OF RURAL GREEN TOURISM

The article presents the results of a study of the tourism and recreational potential of small and micro-enterprises in the sphere of rural green tourism in the Zakarpattia Oblast in the context of crisis and instability. It analyses the social factors influencing the development of this sector of the state economy, identifies problematic aspects in their activities that may negatively affect the development of tourism in general, as well as the impact of such crisis phenomena as COVID-19, its consequences and martial law. The authors have identified the factors that have a destructive impact and the factors that would contribute to overcoming the crisis. The aim of the research is to conduct a socio-economic study of the development of tourist and recreational potential of rural green tourism in the region and identify ways to unlock the potential of this sphere of the region's economy, which will be effective for their practical implementation in the activities of accommodation and catering enterprises. Methodology. The study was conducted on the basis of a survey of managers and owners of rural green tourism enterprises through a personal questionnaire, as well as an analysis of statistical indicators of the performance of temporary accommodation enterprises, based on official statistics of the Zakarpattia Oblast for 2020 and 2021 and provided by the Main Department of Statistics in the Zakarpattia Oblast. The monitoring covered private peasant farms in the region, namely 90 owners of such tourist farmsteads, of whom 70% were middle-aged (36-55 years old), 58% of them combine employment in the tourism sector with their main job in the public sector, and 6% have their own business other than the service sector. The results of the study demonstrate that the activities, development and general existence of rural green tourism in the region are affected by such destructive processes as crisis phenomena such as COVID-19, political instability, martial law and other macro- and microeconomic factors, which can be overcome or at least minimised by their impact on the tourism services sector to increase the viability of small businesses, which, as is known from international practice, is one of the elements of overall economic growth in the region and the state as a whole. According to the results of the study, the factors influencing the activities of enterprises, the behavioural patterns of owners of rural green tourism institutions in the context of the crisis were identified and mechanisms for minimising and overcoming the consequences of the crisis were developed, such as: diversification of business and expansion of the types of services that can be provided to potential consumers, introduction of an effective management and marketing system, adoption of European experience in the field of green tourism and proposals for improving the legislative framework for businesses to leave the shadow economy.

Developing an ontological model for Xinjiang unearthed brocades

The Xinjiang unearthed brocade as a significant cultural heritage records the historical and cultural information of diverse ethnic groups, and it also influences cultural product development. However, the existing knowledge concerning these brocades is disorganized, fragmented, and incomplete, hindering a comprehensive understanding of their intricate relationships. To address these issues, this study has developed an integrated ontological model for Xinjiang’s unearthed brocades (XJUBontology). By applying Conceptual Reference Model of International Committee for Documentation (CIDOC CRM) ontology and the Remanufactured Process Planning (RPP) approach, this XJUBontology comprises knowledge about both the brocades and their cultural derivatives, and knowledge in these two domains are able to be organized and refined. The implementation of XJUBontology in Protégé and validation via SPARQL queries not only centralize and manage Xinjiang unearthed brocade-related knowledge but also establish vital connections among this fragmented information. The contribution is to help in associating, managing, and sharing knowledge in the domain of Xinjiang unearthed brocades, providing a framework for establishing related data repository, and helping researchers, apparel and accessories designers, museums, and other cultural and tourism institutions to access a more systematic information to assist their works.

Implementation Of Central Aceh Regency Government Policy In Ecotourism Development

The Aceh Tengah Regency ecotourism development policy is based on the Qanun RIPPARDA since 2018-2025. On its way, the development of ecotourism over the past five years has not had a significant impact. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the implementation of the Aceh Tengah regency government policy in the development of ecotourism and what are the obstacles faced by the Aceh Tengah regency government in implementing the policy. The aim in this this research are to find out and explain the implementation of the policy of the Central Aceh district government in the development of ecotourism and provide an overview of the obstacles experienced by the Central Aceh district government in implementing policies on ecotourism development. This research is a qualitative research by applying descriptive analysis method and empirical juridical approach. The results showed that the ecotourism development policy in Central Aceh Regency has not been supported by separate implementing regulations such as regulations within the scope of tourism destinations, tourism industry, marketing and tourism institutions based on the provisions of tourism legislation. Constraints faced in policy implementation include, among others, a regulatory vacuum that has an impact on the emergence of illegal businesses, the non-absorption of local revenue in the field of tourism to the maximum, and the emergence of ecotourism businesses that do not rely on environmental protection, the high cost of licensing administration in the field of environmental impact control and the behaviour of people who are not friendly to tourists

The construction and development of Karang Sari Village to become a tourist village is very important. Post-Pandemic Analysis on the Factors Affecting Academic Performance of Tourism and Hospitality Management Students During COVID-19 Pandemic: Basis of an Enhanced Learning Continuity Plan

World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General and Committee members declared in 2023 that COVID-19 will no longer constitute a public health emergency (PHEIC). During the pandemic surge in global business, the educational system worldwide, including hospitality education, has been greatly affected by the pandemic crisis. The influence of COVID-19 causes worldwide school closures that have far-reaching implications for students’ short- and long-term growth because of the disruption of teacher and student networks, leading to poor performance. Thus, the study aims to analyze the factors that affect the academic performance of Tourism and Hospitality Management students of Far Eastern University Manila, Philippines, enrolled in the academic year 2020-2021 during the COVID-19 surge. The study used a descriptive survey design using a self-administered survey instrument with 342 respondents. The findings of the study showed that different factors in technology and learning management system (LMS), student’s environment, study area, delivery of academic subjects offered by the teachers, and the assessment used by the school during the distance learning have impacted the academic performance of students as evidence in the decline of Quality Point Average (QPA) on both programs from the Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management despite that distance learning is designed to be convenient and easy. The factors influencing academic performance, such as technology and study environment, primarily play a significant and considerable role in how students learn and cope with the distant learning mode. The result of the study will serve as a guide in enhancing the University’s continuity plan for flexible learning options, given the factors that need reinforcement to the scholarly performance of the students. The study can be a benchmarking tool among Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in the Philippines as a basis to further strengthen their learning strategies relative to flexible teaching and learning modalities, refining the scholarly learning assessment tools as well as sustaining the schools’ continuity framework and achieving the academic goals and aspiration for the success of students and graduates of the HEIs whether in the new normal or the future global crisis.

The effect of the comprehensive quality management strategies on environmentally responsible activities and the performance of the organizations

The objective of this research is to investigate the impact of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles on the effectiveness of sustainable practices, as well as the effects of these practices on the entire performance of firms that operate within this industry. The study will look at how these practices have become more efficient. It is still necessary to conduct additional research to fill the information gap concerning the effect of TQM approaches on sustainable practices and overall organizational performance in the Jordan Tourism sector. The study will place a particular emphasis on the significance of TQM methodologies and sustainable practices in enhancing organizational dynamics and competitiveness. The research chose the following TQM practices: supplier partnership, leadership commitment, quality management system, and teamwork and collaboration to measure their impacts on building sustainable practices and improving organizational performance through distributed 221 research questionnaires and retrieved 187 valid data. The Jordanian tourism industry will serve as the setting for an examination into the relationship between TQM methodologies, sustainable practices, and organizational outcomes. The analysis will be carried out through the utilization of a case study technique in the Jordan tourism board which is considered the largest tourism institution in Jordan's tourism sector. The research endeavors to provide significant insights into the effectiveness of TQM implementation and provides information concerning the impact that TQM has on sustainable practices and the overall performance of organizations. The findings of the research are intended to provide practical consequences for businesses that cater to tourists in Jordan in the goal of achieving a sustained competitive advantage and improving overall performance. The significance of adopting TQM principles into sustainable operations will be brought into crystal clearer focus. Businesses in the tourist industry can intentionally implement and make use of TQM techniques to improve their sustainable practices, improve the quality of their services, and ultimately boost their competitiveness in the market and increase their chances of success. This research aims to present empirical data on the impact of TQM approaches on sustainable practices and overall organizational performance in the Jordanian tourism industry.

Substantiating the directions of health tourism development in Czechia

<abstract> <p>The purpose of the article is to substantiate the directions of health tourism development in Czechia. The purpose of the study is the subjects of health tourism: well-known rehabilitation centers in Czechia, medical institutions, health resorts. The methodological basis was formed by the following methods: abstract-logical; statistical; expert evaluation; cluster analysis; piecewise linear approximation. Among the most popular regions of Czechia for health tourism, the main places are Prague, Moravian-Silesia, Olomouc, Plzeň, South Moravian and South Bohemian. The increase in the number of patients among residents of the country and foreigners who use health tourism services is studied. The five leaders among the countries that used the services are identified. The main problems and advantages of health tourism in Czechia are identified. The Czech tourism development strategy for 2021–2030 is analyzed and directions for its implementation are proposed. <bold>Originality / value</bold>: the originality of the study lies in forecasting the directions of health tourism development in Czechia using the method of piecewise linear approximation in the following areas: adults with health insurance; adults at their own expense, children and teenagers, which will increase the volume of income for health tourism institutions in Czechia. According to the forecasting results, the demand for health services will increase by 3% annually. The results of this study can be useful for substantiating the directions of further health tourism development in the country, which will ensure the competitiveness and investment attractiveness of the country.</p> </abstract>

The Development Of Alternative Tourism In Tunisia: Innovate Or Disappear"! An Example Of Saharan Tourism

The Tunisian tourist offer has long been standardized and focused on a coastal product. Tourism institutions and actors have shown efforts to diversify this offer, particularly by introducing alternative tourism such as Saharan tourism, where local development's geographical, tourist, and socio-economic opportunities seem obvious. Tourism is one of the world's most important economic activity, having significant economic growth potential for emerging and least developed countries. However, in its current incarnations, it is controlled by foreign operators, and its focus on coastal tourism is unfavorable. In order to attain growth, the nation must develop its travel offerings using a variety of strategies, such as improvement of current solutions, positioning the offer as having value, and surprise the customer. Innovation requires specialized marketing, as it requires defining or redefining the activity, developing or revising the offer, analyzing the competition, and understanding the new customer behavior. However, the results expected from such a policy remained insufficient and concluded that while desert tourism is meant to be a by-product of coastal tourism, coastal tourism still predominates in Tunisia. Saharan tourism is defined as a "desert" product, similar to thalassotherapy and golf. It serves as a way for guests who have travelled to the coast to extend their stay. Saharan tourism remained a complementary product (complementation to the sea through circuits towards the Sahara). This work aims to include how the Sahara and these regions can become fully-fledged tourist destinations.

 This research aims to the impact of freedom learning curriculum on English language teaching in International Institute Of Business And Tourism. This research uses descriptive qualitative. Data collection methods are interviews and documentation. Data analysis using data reduction, data display, data verification. research results The Merdeka Belajar curriculum has had a significant impact on English language teaching at the International Business and Tourism Institute. In this context, there are several important points that can be drawn as conclusions. The Merdeka Belajar curriculum has significantly improved English language teaching at the International Business and Tourism Institute by providing flexibility in learning, emphasis on practical skills, use of technology, increased international mobility of students, and improved quality of education. Exploring and Reorienting the Challenges and Reinventing Revitalized Strategies in Teaching English for Certificate-Level Students at the SLITHM Colombo Campus

Acquiring proficiency in the English language poses various difficulties for students enrolled in Certificate Level batch no.334 at the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management (SLITHM). The objectives of this research study were to identify the obstacles encountered by the students in their English language learning journey and explore effective strategies to overcome these challenges. A survey questionnaire was employed as part of a quantitative research design to ascertain the specific challenges faced by the students during the process of learning English. A total of 100 students, randomly selected from all five disciplines, with 20 students from each, were interviewed as part of a qualitative research design to determine the most successful learning strategies for overcoming the existing obstacles. Purposeful sampling was utilized to select five participants from each discipline who had achieved the highest grades in English at the G.C.E. (O/L) examination, with the aim of identifying the most efficient learning strategies to conquer the current challenges. The research findings revealed that the majority of students considered the influence of their mother tongue to be the most significant hurdle, followed by limited exposure to fluent English, inadequate resources, and a lack of self-motivation in learning the language. In comparison, a small percentage of students expressed that a restricted vocabulary, outdated teaching methods, and a negative attitude towards the subject also impeded their progress in learning the English language. The findings further indicated that a student-centered approach to learning, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies and the utilization of technology, would yield positive results. Additionally, the introduction of e-learning facilities was found to effectively address almost all of the current challenges faced by the students.

The results of this study indicate that Ekas Beach has the potential to attract competitive marine tourism from the shoreline, towering hills around the shoreline, underwater beauty, calm sea water and lobster cultivation. Ekas Beach has now begun to be managed by the Village Government and Local Communities by taking advantage of its attractiveness. Furthermore, the analysis contained in the internal factors (strengths-weaknesses) and external (opportunities-threats) from the identification of attractions and developments that have been carried out is carried out. There are four strategies that were born, namely, Alternative Strategies for Development of Marine Tourism Products, Alternative Strategies for Development of Tourism Institutions and Human Resources, Alternative Strategies for Development of Local Community-Based Tourism. Alternative Strategies for Development of Tourism Human Resources Support and Interest. Then followed up in work programs.
 
 
 

DEVELOPMENT POSSIBILITIES OF ECO-MEDICAL TOURISM IN AZERBAIJAN

The aim of this research is to design a possible health tourism development strategy that combines social, ecological and economic aspects in tourism development in Azerbaijan as a whole. To achieve this goal, there are several problems that appear in implementing the health tourism area strategy, namely weak tourism institutions and human resources, lack of community participation and not yet optimal land use. The methodology used in this activity is through focus group discussions, analyzing the needs of all stakeholders, and developing a systems approach through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with all stakeholders, for example government institutions and with prospective techniques. The results of the implementation of the activities show that several criteria such as conservation and maintenance, so that a strategic way is still needed to achieve sustainable tourism development. The expected impact will also support community empowerment, environmental preservation, and efforts to divert tourist interest.
