Application Research of Distributed Control Technology in Tobacco Primary Processing Control System

Cigarette production includes cigarette product design and cigarette manufacturing processes. After the product designer completes the design of the cigarette product according to the requirements of the cigarette production, the process designer develops the cigarette manufacturing process, and the production personnel must manufacture according to the cigarette manufacturing process, in order to produce the high quality cigarette and obtain better economic benefits. The cigarette manufacturing process is based on the specified technical standards, existing machinery and equipment, processing methods and environmental conditions. It needs to organize processes scientifically, arrange time and space reasonably, and require a high degree of continuity and coordination. During the manufacturing process of cigarettes, the shape, size, composition and properties of tobacco leaves are constantly changing. Eventually become the expected product.

Museum Landscape Design based on the Combination of Art and Technology

With the view of solving the problems of development and innovation in museum landscape design, this paper, starting from the function of landscape, puts forward a strategy of combining art with science and technology. It takes static landscape and dynamic landscape as the starting point of design, and uses the design method of functional zoning optimization. It treats the fire museum as the theme, and makes landscape art modeling by using foam, cement, brick, steel wire and other materials. It combines intelligent fire control system and virtual technology to carry out fire escape experiment in art environment. The experimental result goes to show that artistic means are conducive to enhancing immersive experience, and scientific and technological means are conducive to improving the depth and dimension of experience. The museum landscape design based on the combination of art and science can help the value promotion of exhibition knowledge, landscape knowledge, exhibition hall education, science, art and interest. The combination of art and science and technology, which is the new trend of landscape design, provides a better comprehensive solution for the innovation in museum landscape design.

Design of Gamma Irradiator Simulator Category IV Using Arduino Mega’s

DESIGN OF GAMMA IRRADIATOR SIMULATOR CATEGORY IV USING ARDUINO MEGA’s. Irradiation technology is increasingly developing in Indonesia. With the increase in irradiator facilities in Indonesia, it is hoped that irradiator control system technology can be applied in the construction and maintenance of irradiator facilities. This study aims to design and test the reliability of motion system irradiator facilities in category IV. The Iradiator Simulator was designed using 5 conveyors and a source motion system, to control the motion system of the iradiator facility, the Arduino Mega 2560 was used. The simulator that was made had dimensions of 550 mm × 650 mm. The simulator test results obtained the reliability coefficient of 0.62, which means that the iradiator simulator made has a high level of reliability.

Design and Development of a New Control Architecture for Elliptically Polarizing Undulators at the Taiwan Photon Source

During the phase-II beamline project at the Taiwan Photon Source (TPS), elliptically polarized undulators (EPU), called EPU66 and EPU168, will be installed in 2020. The new control system for the EPUs is based on the Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) and Ethernet Control Automation Technology (EtherCAT) framework. The EPU control elements include: motors with absolute optical encoders for gap and phase control, corrector magnets power supply control for trim coils, interlock safety systems to automatically stop motion based on encoder readings, limit switches, tilt sensors and emergency buttons. All control functionalities are coordinated by a fan-less embedded computer with three Ethernet ports. User interface for operators and beamline users are included to support the operation of the system, such as gap/phase control. Reliable operation of the EPU is important to users of beamlines. The most unpredictable fault is due to a soft error in the absolute optical encoders. There are several protection solutions to avoid faults, e.g., by increasing the distance of the encoder from the beam center, by a lead shield cover and finally by adopting an auxiliary position sensing device to cross check the position and perform the necessary procedure. Efforts to improve operational reliability of the EPU controls will be discussed. Features and benefits of the EPU66 and EPU168 control system will be summarized in this report.

ε-TPN: definition of a Time Petri Net formalism simulating the behaviour of the timed grafcets

To allow a formal verification of timed GRAFCET models, many authors proposed to translate them into formal and well-reputed languages such as timed automata or Time Petri nets (TPN). Thus, the work presented in [Sogbohossou, Vianou, Formal modeling of grafcets with Time Petri nets, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 23(5)(2015)] concerns the TPN formalism: the resulting TPN of the translation, called here ε-TPN, integrates some infinitesimal delays (ε) to simulate the synchronous semantics of the grafcet. The first goal of this paper is to specify a formal operational semantics for an ε-TPN to amend the previous one: especially, priority is introduced here between two defined categories of the ε-TPN transitions, in order to respect strictly the synchronous hypothesis. The second goal is to provide how to build the finite state space abstraction resulting from the new definitions. Afin de permettre la vérification formelle des grafcets temporisés, plusieurs auteurs ont proposé de les traduire dans des langages formels de réputation tels que les automates temporisés et les réseaux de Petri temporels (TPN). Ainsi, les travaux présentés dans [Sogbohossou, Vianou, Formal modeling of grafcets with Time Petri nets, IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 23(5)(2015)] concernent le formalisme des TPN: le réseau résultant de la traduction, dénommé ici ε-TPN, intègre des délais infinitésimaux (ε) pour simuler la sémantique synchrone du grafcet. Le premier objectif de cet article est de définir la sémantique opérationnelle d'un ε-TPN afin d'améliorer l'ancienne définition: spécifiquement, une priorité est introduite ici entre deux catégories de transitions définies pour ces réseaux, dans l'optique de respecter rigoureusement l'hypothèse synchrone. Le second but est de fournir une méthode de calcul de l'espace d'état fini qui découle des nouvelles définitions.

Behavioral changes of powderpost beetle, Lyctus africanus Lesne (Coleoptera: Bostrichidae): responses on female extract

Powderpost beetle, Lyctus africanus, is a common dry wood pest in the tropical region. The insect pest damages wood by converting the wood into powdery frass. The damaged wood is created by larvae of L. africanus which digests the starchy wood part into powdery form. The powdery form developed in exit holes from which Lyctus emerges is an indicator of an active infestation. However, the presence of frass could be detected in the delayed period. Developing prevention of Lyctus entrance into the wood is crucial to minimize the losses. Monitoring the Lyctus infestation regularly, as chemical communication practice, leads to green technology in the pest control system. The chemical communication in Lyctus beetle was identified as the pheromone detected in male Lyctus beetle. In contrast, the female crude extract was observed to show none of the attractant behavior. In this study, the activity of female crude extract of Lyctus on the behaviour of the beetle was observed. The extract was from hexane washed of newly emerged female beetle for 24 h. Chemical analysis by GC-MS indicated dominancy of hydrocarbon compounds in the female crude extract. Purification of the hydrocarbon fraction was then conducted in SiO2 column with hexane solvent. Then, a preference test of the compounds against both male and female beetle was supervised in the Petri dish method. Result of the preference test indicated a repulsion behavior of both female and male beetles. Furthermore, the purified compound increased the repulsion behavior of Lyctus beetle. The hydrocarbon is suggested as a specific compound of female beetle which alters the behaviour of Lyctus beetle.

Research on Fault Diagnosis Technology of Thermal Test Measurement and Control System Based on Data Driven

Temperature data, as one of the most important parameters in spacecraft vacuum thermal test, is also an important characteristic parameter for fault detection of spacecraft thermal test system. From the perspective of numerical heat transfer, the physical and mathematical models of thermal test specimens are established by using finite difference method. Based on the data driving of specimen measurement temperature and heating power, the mathematical model coefficients are fitted by the combination of least squares and sliding window filtering, and then realize the on-line prediction of temperature data and fault detection of thermal test measurement and control system. Based on the thermal test data of the solar wing of a certain type of spacecraft, the above-mentioned method was verified by physical experiments. The experimental result shows that the method can accurately and effectively realize the temperature prediction not less than 2 periods, and the prediction accuracy is less than ±2°C. It can provide an effective fault detection means for the thermal test measurement and control system.

Automated Pressure Control for UBD Operations: Case Study and Field Validation

Summary In this paper, we present field results from a series of drilling operations where advances in sensor and control-system technology enable a high degree of automated pressure control in underbalanced-drilling (UBD) operations in Siberia, Russia. Traditionally, this fractured carbonate field was drilled conventionally using water as drilling fluid, accepting losses after hitting the first fractures, resulting in wells with access to only two or three fractures and not reaching target depth (TD) of the productive section. For these operations, a combination of nitrified water and crude oil was used. Applying automated pressure control with UBD equipment enables drilling with a controlled drawdown from the fractures, enabling the drilling of significantly longer wells, maximizing discovered fractures per well. In this paper, we show how the drilling of these wells has been achieved with the combination of sensors for managed-pressure drilling (MPD) and UBD and an automated pressure control system that maintains a constant drawdown throughout operations.

Fault Diagnosis Method for Engine Control System Based on Probabilistic Neural Network and Support Vector Machine

Due to the poor working conditions of an engine, its control system is prone to failure. If these faults cannot be treated in time, it will cause great loss of life and property. In order to improve the safety and reliability of an aero-engine, fault diagnosis, and optimization method of engine control system based on probabilistic neural network (PNN) and support vector machine (SVM) is proposed. Firstly, using the German 3 W piston engine as a control object, the fault diagnosis scheme is designed and introduced briefly. Then, the fault injection is performed to produce faults, and the data sample for engine fault diagnosis is established. Finally, the important parameters of PNN and SVM are optimized by particle swarm optimization (PSO), and the results are analyzed and compared. It shows that the engine fault diagnosis method based on PNN and SVM can effectively diagnose the common faults. Under the optimization of PSO, the accuracy of PNN and SVM results are significantly improved, the classification accuracy of PNN is up to 96.4%, and the accuracy of SVM is up to 98.8%, which improves the application of them in fault diagnosis technology of aero-piston engine control system.

Stabilizing Attitude Control For Mobility Of Wing In Ground (WIG) Craft - A Review

Wing in ground crafts development have been rapidly advancing in recent years. The current paper reviews the researches and developments of existing stability control system technology’s development and enhancement for wing in ground effect crafts. The review is critically intended for the development of the control system for two-seater Dragonfly 2, a hoverwing type craft. The current review will commence with the introduction on the theory behind the in ground effect phenomenon on the crafts, its regulations and the types of wing in ground crafts, their advantages and disadvantages, and their stability and control issues. This paper also discusses the available attitude control sys-tem types of wing-in-ground craft (WIG), its experiments, simulations and computational methods done especially on both the lon-gitudinal and lateral motion stability.

Intelligent Motor Control Centers: Defining the Benefits to Petroleum and Chemical Industries

As technology continues to drive innovations, petroleum and chemical enterprises must continue to keep pace to remain competitive in an ever-changing marketplace. The technology trend is to replace systems of yesterday with higher-performance, low-cost, and optionrich networked ones that provide a shorter return on investment and offer more flexibility. With the evolution of control system technology, systems migrate toward functions that are increasingly distributed to smarter, more granular control system components capable of performing localized operations. Most of these functions were once the responsibility of a central or master controller. Systems that integrate intelligent devices, device-level networks, and reporting software into mediumvoltage (MV) and low-voltage (LV) motor control centers (MCCs) are a prime example of where this trend is increasingly implemented. Technology can deliver improved diagnostics, early warnings used to increase system reliability, design flexibility, simplified and reduced wiring, and additional levels of protection for personnel safety in all process industries via the utilization of intelligent networks. This article focuses on the next steps of technology integration, intelligent devices, and device-level information collection over a single network that provides the convergence of control and information to optimize plant- and enterprise-wide processes and energy management.

Analytic Hierarchy Process: Automobile Steering Technology

The Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is a well-liked multi-criteria decision making method. In current research an attempted has been made by researcher to present an application of the AHP. It is used to find the weightages of the selected factors for the automobile steering technology. This method adopts a multi- criteria approach that can be used for analysis/comparison of parameters. Sixteen factors were used for evaluating these are: Basic cost of steering, Maintenance cost, System Efficiency, System control technology, Durability, Turning Radius, Effort required, Availability of vehicle , Sales Volume , Time period of service , Maintenance Time , percentage of failure , Adjustment as per driver , Complexity , Upgrade ability , System Safety, for these a matrix of pair wise comparisons between parameters were evaluated. Eventually resulting/emerging precedence is revealed.

Robust path‐following control based on trajectory linearization control for unmanned surface vehicle with uncertainty of model and actuator saturation

AbstractThis article develops a novel path‐following control strategy for underactuated unmanned surface vehicle (USV) subject to unmodeled dynamics and unknown multiple disturbance. A practical robust path‐following controller is proposed using trajectory linearization control (TLC) technology, neural network, and auxiliary design system. First, the greatest advantage of this article is that the TLC technology is first introduced into the field of USV motion control, which provides a new direction for TLC technology research. Second, the underactuated model based on a transformation of the USV kinematics to Serret‐Frenet frame is simplified by introducing a nonlinear coordinate transformation. Meanwhile, to improve the robustness and reduce the computational complexity, radial basis function neural network is replaced by neural network with minimum learning parameter method to compensate for unmodeled dynamics and unknown multiple disturbance. In addition, an auxiliary dynamic system is used to reduce the risk of actuator saturation. The stability of the whole system was proved based on the Lyapunov criteria. Finally, the comparison results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed approach. © 2019 Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan. Published by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

Decision-making support technology in regional security network-centric control system

The paper considers decision support problems in management of regional socio-economic system development. A decision-making support technology for regional security network-centric control, differing by the structure and implementation technique of coordination and prediction formal procedures of regional security indicators within the decision-making unit of the regional management system, has been developed. The technology is oriented to situational center information-analytical support in the region.

Conceptual design of a rehabilitation device based on cam-follower and crank-rocker mechanisms hand actioned

Several works present exoskeletons and devices acting in the hip, the knee and the ankle of patients with some kind of limitation on the lower limbs movement, aiding patients’ locomotion/rehabilitation. The challenges in exoskeletons development for paraplegics’ locomotion are related with obtaining a compact and low-mass design with long battery life. Furthermore, the robotic devices to lower limb rehabilitation are very expensive complex systems mainly due to the technology of servomotors, drivers and control system; thus, a simpler device tends to make patients feel more comfortable and safer, which is important to gain their acceptance. Hence, the aim of this paper is developing a new exoskeleton with one degree of freedom, low cost, to locomotion/rehabilitation of subjects with paralysis/motor disability in the lower limbs, powered by the user’s strength, reproducing on them the ability to walk with stability and security. This leads to decreasing the problems related to the lack of movement and the consequent improvement in the paraplegics’ life quality. The proposed device was developed using a combination of simple mechanisms to obtain the approximate human gait movement. In order to achieve the proposed objective, we present the mechanism synthesis, graphical simulations and experimental test of the simplified prototype built. The graphical simulations and the experimental results show that the proposed device performs properly on the hip and knee joints movement but with smaller amplitude.

Research on Configurability of Software Definition Intelligent Controller

PLC control system and related control technology have developed relatively mature after years of industry development. Different needs need to develop PCL products of different systems. Specific PLC products need to develop different software to control. The development of customized PLC hardware and software greatly improves the difficulty and cost of development. This paper presents a flexible configuration method of software definition, which enables PLC system to make flexible software definition according to application requirements in order to adapt to different types of hardware environment, such as the number and types of ports between different types. It will effectively reduce the difficulty of system development, reduce the long development cycle, and enhance software stability and consistency.

Simulation Studies Comparing Feedback Predictive Control to Model Predictive Control for Unmeasured Disturbances in the Artificial Pancreas Application

The artificial pancreas (AP) is an electro-mechanical device to control glucose (G) levels in the blood for people with diabetes using mathematical modeling and control system technology. There are many variables not measured and modeled by these devices that affect G levels. This work evaluates the effectiveness of two control systems for the case where critical inputs are unmeasured. This work compares and evaluates two predictive feedback control (FBC) algorithms in two unmeasured input studies. In the first study, the process is a dynamic transfer function model with one measured input variable and one unmeasured input variable. The process for the second study is a diabetes simulator with insulin feed rate (IFR) measured and carbohydrate consumption (CC) unmeasured. The feedback predictive control (FBPC) approach achieved much better control performance than model predictive control (MPC) in both studies. In the first study, MPC was shown to get worse as the process lag increases but FBPC was unaffected by process lag. In the diabetes simulation study, for five surrogate type 1 diabetes subjects, the standard deviation of G about its mean (standard deviation) (i.e., the set point) was 133% larger for MPC relative to FBPC. For FBPC, its standard deviation was less than 10% larger for unmeasured CC versus measured CC. Thus, FBPC appears to be a more effective AP control algorithm than MPC for unmeasured disturbances and may not perform much worse in practice when CC is measured versus when it is unmeasured since CC can be very inaccurate in real situations.

Design of the Intelligent Manufacturing Demonstration System based on IoT in the Context of Industry 4.0

With the concept of German Industry 4.0, the Chinese manufacturing industry is in a critical period of restructuring and upgrading. With the gradual change of Chinese manufacturing industry from the mass and mass to the niche, personalized stage, the traditional rigid production system couldn’t make enough. This paper designed an Industry 4.0 intelligent manufacturing demonstration system based on Internet of Things. The system is based on the background of the model car assembly, which simulates the whole process of the delivery of the consumer from the single to the manufacturer. The vertical seamless integration of network production system is realized by getting through the information communication interface on the device layers between ERP and MES. The system adopts modular manufacturing mode, via WIA-FA and Software defined Control System technology, adjusting the production process dynamically, to achieve the function of scale production of customized products and the predictive maintenance of equipment etc. This system may reduce equipment downtime and improve equipment utilization, which solves the lower flexibility of the traditional rigid production system responding to the changing demands of design the production. It fully embodies the concept of Industry 4.0 in the smart factory.

Koordinasi Dinas Perhubungan dan Satuan Lalu Lintas dalam Penanggulangan Kemacetan Kota Makassar

Traffic congestion is caused by an imbalance between the number of vehicles and the number of existing roads. Based on Makassar City Samsat data, the number of vehicles in 2016 reached 1,128,809 units. From 2017 to October 2018 the vehicle reaches 1,563,608 units. The aim of the study was to find out work arrangements, synchronization of activities, manifestation of mutual interests, and shared goals carried out by the Department of Transportation and Traffic Units in managing congestion in Makassar City. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a type of case study research. Data collection techniques are obtained through observations, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The results of the study found that the process of coordination of the Office of Transportation and Satua Traffic included; the arrangements used have implemented Area Traffic Control System (ATCS) technology, synchronization has been effective, this joint interest has been running with meetings or meetings conducted between two parties even though the implementation is still not maximal, because meetings are held only 1 to 2 times meeting. Likewise, the cooperation of the Makassar City Satlantas and Dishub is still not maximal in carrying out its duties in overcoming congestion.

Multi-pulse width modulation control technology for an underground inclination correction hydraulic control system

Based on continuous adjustment of the underground inclination correction force in a pulse width modulation AADDS (Automaic Anti-Deviation Drilling System) automatic vertical drilling tool to address problems such as pulse width modulation induced significant fluctuation of the inclination correction force and instable relative orientation of a well’s inclination, the optimization of the continuous control of the underground inclination correction force of this drilling tool is investigated. Two-position two-way electromagnetic valves in a hydraulic control system undergo multiple on/off controls (i.e., multi-pulse width modulation) in a drill rod rotational cycle T (i.e., a modulation cycle) without changing the existing structure, components and parameters of the drilling tool. The system inclination correction cylinder discharges the oil volume obtained in a cycle T multiple time instead of once. Additionally, a spring energy accumulator is added to leverage automatic conversion between hydraulic energy and elastic potential energy to effectively improve the stability of the inclination correction cylinder pressure and inclination correction force. Multi-pulse width modulation parameters are obtained via a mathematical model of a hydraulic control system. When the drill rod rotating speed is 65 r/min and its cycle is 0.923 s, the inclination correction hydraulic control system test shows that the fluctuation amplitude of the inclination correction cylinder modulation pressure via three-pulse width modulation with a spring energy accumulator is only 30% of the value of that via a single pulse width modulation.
