Smart Public Transport and Ticketing System with Real Time Analysis

Collaboration as a service (CaaS) to fully integrate public transportation – Lessons from long distance travel to reimagine mobility as a service

Integrated mobility aims to improve multimodal integration to make public transport an attractive alternative to private transport. This paper critically reviews extant literature and current public transport governance frameworks of transport operators across a macro and micro spectrum. Our aim is to extend the concept of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS), a proposed coordination mechanism for public transport that is yet to prove its commercial viability and general acceptance. Drawing from avaition experiences, we propose that smart ticketing systems, providing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) can be extended with governance and operational processes that enhance their ability to facilitate Collaboration-as-a-Service (CaaS) to offer a reimagined MaaS2.0 = CaaS + SaaS. Rather than using the traditional MaaS broker, CaaS incorporates operators more fully and utilises their commercial self-interest to deliver commercially viable and attractive integrated public transport solutions to consumers. This would also facilitate more collaboration of private sector operators into public transport across short and long distance with potentially new opportunities for taxi/rideshare/bikeshare operators and cross geographical transport providers (i.e. transnational multimodal operating companies) to integrate.

To book or not to book through IRCTC - Consumer’s intention to use Indian Railway’s Online Ticketing System

The present paper investigates consumer's intention toward adopting internet railway ticket booking in Indian context by integrating theory of planned behaviour (TPB), technology acceptance model (TAM) and an additional construct, i.e., perceived risk. 220 usable responses were collected using snowball sampling from consumers through internet survey. Structural equation modelling was used to analyse data and to evaluate the strength of model fit. Result revealed that PU significantly influenced both, consumers' attitude and intention to use Indian railway online ticketing system. Further, PEOU was found to positively influence consumers' attitude towards online ticketing. Attitude, subjective norm and PBC significantly influenced consumer's intention to adopt Indian railway online ticketing system showing TPB can be used in predicting consumer's intention toward online ticketing system. Finally, perceived risk had significant negative influence on consumers' intention to buy ticket online. Railway management may use findings for developing policies and strategies related to online ticketing in the Indian scenario.

On Anti-terrorism Warning Mechanism Based on Railway Ticket System

In this article, taking the anti-terrorism system of the train as an example, and integrating of the current resources and the data, author establish the warning platform, and the new model of purchasing the railway ticket scientifically, in order to warn the terrorism. The existing anti-terrorism model is imprecise, and it is very single model which we use to hunt for terrorist. Especially in the periods of security. By analyzing the existing tickets purchasing system, and the writer build a proper data analysis model on the ticket purchasing system, in order to check the ticket purchasers, and listing the suspicious person, so that we can take effective measures before terrorist acts. After years of development, the big data technology has become increasingly mature, and played a very important role in the commercial field. The big data warning technology relies on the big data technology. The purpose is forecasting and alarming the potential terrorist threats,[1] and analysis of intelligence of terrorism.[2] However in terms of crime warning and criminal investigation, it is necessary to research further how the technology serve the anti-terrorism and anti-riot work. Actually, due to the wide range of criminology research,[3] at present, there are data barriers and inaccurate prediction in most countries. In this research, by using the existing train ticket database system, the author tries to set up a new data warning model, which can provide timely warning and judgment for terrorist activists.

Legal Obstacles of Cruise Tourism Development in China and Innovative Direction of High Seas Tour Pilot Project in Hainan

China has become the second largest cruise tourist source in the world, and has great potential in the future. However, in sharp contrast with the demand side, the supply side faces a series of legal obstacles such as cruise ticket, Cruise material supply, tourists clearance, cruise fleet cultivation and foreign investment access, which urgently need to be broken through and innovated. Developing high seas tourism is the breakthrough of cruise tourism development in China. From the creation of international tourism consumption center, the development of high seas tourism is conducive to expanding the development space of tourism consumption, improving the quality of tourism consumption service, and promoting the internationalization of tourism consumption. Hainan must earnestly fulfill the pilot project of the high seas tourism entrusted by the Party Central Committee and the State Council. In order to explore and accumulate experience that can be replicated and promoted for the development of cruise economy and cruise tourism in China, Hainan should "bold trial, bold venture, independent reform" from the perspectives of the implementation of the high seas cruise ticket system, exploration of the cruise registration policy and tax preferential policies, and the innovation of products of high seas tourism.

Juridical Analysis Of Prosecution Application Against Traffic Violators Through E-Ticketed System With CCTV Footage As Evidence

This study aims to identify and analyze the application of the prosecution and the inhibiting factors, as well as the implementation of action should be, against traffic violators through E-Traffic ticket system with CCTV footage as evidence. The approach method in this research is empirical juridical approach. Specifications are descriptive analytical research and analysis used is qualitative analysis. The results of this research are: 1) Implementation of action against traffic violators through E-Traffic ticket system with CCTV footage as evidence that E-Traffic ticket enacted to curb the traffic. If the conventional ticketed offenders will be dismissed by the officer and given a ticket, but the E-Traffic ticket there is not like it and if the offender has committed an offense. 2) inhibiting factors in the implementation of action against traffic violators through E-Traffic ticket system with CCTV footage as evidence, namely Traffic Police not yet have its own camera so that in its application to the camera's still a part of the Transportation Agency of Semarang. Data Regident must use a server connected to Traffic Police Coordinator and in every action must be coordinated to the Central Java Traffic Police Directorate which has the network. Supported yet the budget for delivery via Postal address listed on the vehicle registration is not yet fully in accordance with the ownership. 3) Implementation of action that should be against the violators of traffic through the E-Traffic ticket system with CCTV footage as evidence that by applying the principle of vicarious liability where a criminal liability imposed on a person for the actions of others (the legal responsibility of one person for the wrongful acts of another). This means that the current application and E-Traffic ticket system become Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) in can not be charged to the owner of the vehicle of origin, even though the vehicle has not been did name change / but still subject to the deed of sale and purchase of own popularity. Jumping to the Head of the Invisible Line: Queuing and Waiting in Electronic Ticket Systems

Research on queuing and waiting has demonstrated how these practices exemplify tacit norms of social organization and how the dynamics of deference embedded in waiting (re)produce the status of the waiting individual and/or the power of individuals in charge of queues. Less attention has been given to the broader effects of the agentic efforts of individuals to decrease their wait times and increase their priority in their original queue, what I term the active management of waiting. Using ethnographic and interview data on IT support workers at a large university, I document how high-status individuals engage in three active management of waiting strategies: trumping the queue, circumventing the queue, and refusing to queue. As I show, these strategies are patterned by organizational status and thus not only (re)produce the status of the waiting individual but also exert a disciplinary effect on servers and help (re)produce organizational status structures as a whole.

Using knowledge management tools in the Saudi National Mental Health Survey helpdesk: pre and post study

BackgroundWith the growth of information technology, there is a need for the evaluation of cost-effective means of monitoring and support of field workers involved in large epidemiological surveys.AimThe aim of this research was to measure the performance of a survey help desk that used knowledge management tools to improve its productivity and efficiency. Knowledge management tools are based on information technologies that improve the creation, sharing, and use of different types of knowledge that are critical for effective decision-making.MethodsThe Saudi National Mental Health Survey’s help desk developed and used specific knowledge management tools including a computer file system, feedback from experts and a call ticketing system. Results are based on the analyses of call records recorded by help desk agents in the call ticketing system using descriptive analysis, Wilcoxon rank-sum test (p < 0.01) and Goodman and Kruscal test (gamma). The call records were divided into two phases and included details such as types of calls, priority level and resolution time.ResultsThe average time to resolve a reported problem decreased overall, decreased at each priority level and led to increased first contact resolution.ConclusionThis study is the first of its kind to show how the use of knowledge management tools lead to a more efficient and productive help desk within a health survey environment in Saudi Arabia. Further research on help desk performance, particularly within health survey environments and the Middle Eastern region is needed to support this conclusion.

Factors Influencing the Intention to Use the Common Ticketing System (Spider Card) in Thailand.

The Common Ticket, locally called the “Spider Card” is a contactless smartcard ticket used for public transportation systems in Thailand. The card is used for all modes of transportation and increases the convenience of public transit passengers while increasing public transport ridership. This research aimed to identify the determinant factors that impact passengers’ intention to use the Spider Card based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model by integrating perceived convenience and perceived sacrifice as part of the perceived value. A survey of public transit users in the Bangkok metropolitan area was conducted. The Partial Least Square-Structure Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique was employed to examine the data. The results showed that perceived value, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions are all significant factors. Perceived convenience and perceived sacrifice are significant antecedents for perceived value. Surprisingly, effort expectancy and social influence did not impact passengers’ intentions to use the Spider Card. The results also offer beneficial information for public transit authorities in order to comprehend what passengers desire from using these kinds of technology service systems.

Vehicle Recognition System using RFID Technology for Parking Management System

Technology is growing each day by leaps and bounds. The change in technology has done wonders to increase productivity in everyday life. However, drivers searching for parking contributed to traffic congestion especially in urban and suburban cities, while consuming their time and energy. Besides, traffic congestion in parking area is always an issue which contribute to traffic on the main road. The current approach to overcome this includes the implementation of parking ticket system, especially in busy area. The hour rate for busy area is elevated to promote liquidation of vehicles. However, this system requires patrol warden to manually inspect each vehicle for the parking ticket. The feasibility of the system decreases when the parking area is larger. RFID parking management system aims to bring automation into parking system. The use of passive UHF RFID which can read multiple tags from long distance can replace patrol warden and thus increase the effectiveness of the Vehicle Parking Management System (VPMS). Furthermore, the power consumption of RFID system is analyzed. A new method has been introduced to reduce the power consumption of RFID system which operates 24/7. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in reducing the power consumption of the RFID system.

PEMBANGUNAN HELPDESK TICKETING SYSTEM BERBASIS WEB (STUDI KASUS: UNIVERSITAS YARSI)

Web has evolved into a tool that is not only able to provide information but also to process information. Processing information by utilizing web technology turns web becoming dynamic information media. We could do many things by deploying web, such as building the Helpdesk Ticketing System for a company or institution. Every company has vision, mission, and also programs by utilizing the infrastructure that has been provided by the company. By using a Web-based Helpdesk Ticketing System, solving problems in a company will be faster, precise, accurate, and more effective. The development of a Web-based Helpdesk Ticketing System gives a better impact and efficient than manual monitoring. IT Risk Identification and Evaluation: a Case Study on XYZ University

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) can be applied to the educational field to identify various failure modes and its potential failure effect that could occur in anytime. FMEA is widely used in a design, a manufacturing or assembly process, or a product and service for identifying all possible failures. Risk identification is part of risk management. Therefore it is a critical first step of it. This paper is a case study on XYZ University which trying to implement risk management which only focused on how to identify the risk using FMEA. FMEA needs some parameters to be defined which are severity values, the likelihood of occurrence, and detection. Risk Priority Number (RPN) is a matrix that indicates potential risk calculated by multiplying the three components, and it used to classify which should be taken care of first based on the highest RPN value. Filtering the ticketing system and mapped the incidents that happened to the current business process is how the data collected, also the interview to end user for validation. The result of this paper is astonishing because it is different from the initial expectation that business process like LMS or network facility will get the highest RPN value, but after doing all the process, it is found that telecommunication is at the top. Surely this provides a new perspective to risk management to be slicker in handling potential one.

Klasifikasi Helpdesk Menggunakan Metode Support Vector Machine

The online helpdesk with ticketing system with the help of operators often experiences problems such as inappropriate delegation processes, the duration of the helpdesk waiting time to be delegated, even the helpdesk is missed to be handled. The ticket delegation checked manually by the operator has risks creating an error in delegating helpdesk tickets to inappropriate technicians. The helpdesk classification system is needed so that every incoming helpdesk ticket can be classified to the right technician according to the job description. The incoming Helpdesk is classified into 6 types of requests, namely multimedia, documentation, internet, server, hardware, software and miscellaneous. This helpdesk grouping is needed so that related technicians for each helpdesk can work and help the helpdesk according to their respective job descriptions. The Support Vector Machine method is used to classify text on the helpdesk. The use of Linear and Polynomial kernels produces an accuracy of 78%, the RBF or Gaussian kernel produces the highest accuracy of 81% while the Sigmoid kernel produces the smallest accuracy of 51%. The helpdesk classification results with the Support Vector Machine method can produce quite good accuracy.

Approaches, technologies and importance of analysis of the number of train travellers

ABSTRACTSeveral studies have pointed to the difficulties of obtaining good data on train ridership. This paper is a literature review on how the number of travellers on trains are measured, including technologies and practices for measuring actual ridership. There are a number of publications and practical work done on estimating ridership. We find there are several technologies that can be applied for measuring ridership on trains. The technologies and approaches include (1) Manual counts and surveys, (2) On-board sensors such as door passing, weight, CCTV and Wi-Fi-use, (3) Ticketing systems, ticket sales or ticket validation, and (4) Tracking of travellers for larger part of the journey, e.g. by mobile phones and payments. Data from on-board sensors and ticketing systems are both managed by public transportation providers. By contrast, surveys, payments statistics and mobile phone data may be available to stakeholders outside the public transportation system, which can be an advantage, as access to ridership data can be an issue for business reasons. Furthermore, mobile phone data appears as an interesting option, as they can track complete journeys. New technologies, and especially mobile phone data, are therefore of special interest in future uses of ridership data for evaluations and quality assessments.

How Positive Behavioral Supports and Social-Emotional Curriculum Impact Student Learning

Many American students are subject to adverse effects of complex and chronic childhood trauma resulting in gaps within social-emotional competencies. This case-study research examined the impacts of one research- based proactive approach to student behaviour using Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Second-Step Learning Curriculum, and staff trauma-informed/ACES training in one Midwest rural Kansas Elementary School. The over-arching research question was, What are the impacts of implementing Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) system, in conjunction with the Second Step Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum? Three sub-questions emerged: 1) What is the impact of PBIS and SEL Curriculum on disciplinary referrals? 2) How is PBIS/SEL affecting teaching/learning? and 3) How is PBIS/SEL affecting building climate/morale? Data collection and analysis included: Skyward-in-school/out-of-school suspensions; a Likert scale staff-questionnaire on PBIS and Social-Emotional Learning Curriculum (Second Step) implementation; staff open-ended questionnaire; principal interview and researchers’ critical reflections. Analysis of ODRs data from the academic years (2015-2018) indicate a decrease of in-school/out-of-school suspensions. Data collection received a 78.6% response rate. Results confirmed 93% of staff agree or strongly agree that students understand the Trailway Ticket System (Tier 1 PBIS intervention that reinforces positive student behaviors indicated on the building matrix), while 87% of staff agree or strongly agree they understand and consistently enforce the incentive/Tier 1 system. 74% of staff reported a positive school climate, and 60% reported strong/positive teacher morale. Findings suggest more resources for optimal program implementation to continue student success.

Smart Metro Rail Ticketing System

Abstract Transportation plays a vital role in ones life. The main goal of this paper is to eradicate the day to day and one of the major problems with regard to carrying a ticket during transportation from ones life and make traveling a lot more peaceful. For this purpose, we are proposing a biometric-based ticketing system in the metro railway scenario but not limited to the same. In order to get a unique identifier for each person, we are considering their fingerprint right away from registration, booking tickets and validating the fingerprint on the day of the journey so he/she can travel on a particular day and on the desired train to his/her preferred destination. The fingerprint sensor will be interfaced with Arduino which in turn will store the fingerprint data to the cloud. We are proposing a two-way encryption standard for storing the sensitive fingerprint data in the cloud. This two-way encryption standard involves encrypting the data during data generation at the hardware end and encrypting it again before storing it in the cloud database.

A METHODOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK FOR MEASURING THE LEVEL OF CONVENIENCE OF TRANSPORT TICKETING SYSTEMS

Public transport sustainability is becoming a major driver for public transport development. Public transport ridership represents one of the key performance indicators of sustainability in the sense of balancing the economic, social and environmental aspects of public transport. There are various methods for improving the attractiveness of public transport for passengers by reducing resistances, which discourage potential and existing passengers to use public transport. Transport ticketing is one of the methods. This article presents a methodological framework for evaluating transport ticketing technologies with the use of a transport ticketing convenience model developed by the authors as well as some survey results through the application of the developed framework on traditional smart ticketing and contactless payment card ticketing technologies. First, a methodological framework for modelling ticketing convenience based on end-to-end passenger experience is presented. Second, a ticketing convenience model for barrier-free and double-sided validation baseline ticketing systems is developed. Third, the ticketing system based on contactless bank payment cards is compared with traditional smart ticketing systems in terms of convenience. It is shown that a contactless payment cards ticketing system has greater convenience or a better, more seamless travel experience than traditional smart systems. Finally, some research perspectives on enhancing the ticketing convenience model by using mobile smartphones with NFC, BLE and GPS technology, as well as the inclusion of technologies related to ticketing such as passenger information systems into the model, are contemplated.

Exploration of Implementation Patterns and Content from a Text-Based Outreach Intervention Clinical Trial for Newly Diagnosed, HIV-Positive MSM in Beijing, China.

The Multi-component HIV Intervention Packages for Chinese MSM (China MP3) project sought to facilitate engagement in care and initiation of antiretroviral therapy among newly HIV-diagnosed men who have sex with men in Beijing, China through the implementation of in-person peer-counseling (PC) and a weekly short message service (SMS)-based outreach text with as-needed follow-up during the first 12-months of living with HIV. Implementation of the interactive text-based intervention used a 'ticket system' to monitor and document responses to texted check-ins and PC follow-up. Using this tracking system, we characterized the 1521 tickets generated during the China-MP3 intervention across 184 intervention participants. A wide variety of topics were the focus of interactions prompted by texted outreach although most appeared to focus on issues related to ART and CD4 and viral load. Almost all participants engaged in at least one SMS-related discussion. Sending regular check-ins may offer unique opportunities to newly diagnosed MSM to ask questions or gather support between face-to-face visits.

A sociotechnical design toolkit for bridging the gap between systems‐based analyses and system design

AbstractCognitive work analysis (CWA) is a systems‐based framework for analyzing complex sociotechnical systems; however, its ability to directly inform design has been questioned. The Cognitive Work Analysis Design Toolkit (CWA‐DT) was developed to address this gap. This study describes the development, application, and evolution of the CWA‐DT and examines the extent to which it provides a useful approach to design. The evaluation draws upon five case‐study applications. In three applications, involving the design of public transport ticketing systems, railway level crossing environments and road intersections, the toolkit was used in conjunction with CWA. In addition, we present two case studies where the CWA‐DT was used with other systems‐based analysis frameworks (for the design of incident prevention strategies for led outdoor activities and systemic interventions to improve road safety) to illustrate the flexibility of the toolkit. Based on feedback from participants involved in CWA‐DT design processes, it is concluded that it provides a useful approach for translating human factors analyses into design concepts. Additional applications and adaptations of the approach are encouraged.
