The Inspiration and Path Forward of Pan-Entertainment Industry Research Based on Global Vision for China

In recent years, with the rapid development of the Internet and fan economy, the pan-entertainment industry with IP development as the core (the full name of IP is intellectual property) has become an important way out for the development of the industry. This paper aims to systematically analyze the potential and possibility of the pan-entertainment industry through the study of the whole industrial chain of the upper, middle and lower reaches of the pan-entertainment industry. At present, China is still in the development stage of pan-entertainment industry, but pan-entertainment companies such as Alpha Group, Nanpai Pan-Entertainment and China Literature Group have been developing well in China in recent years, with comprehensive development of high-quality IP, attracting a certain scale of fans across the country and gaining high popularity in China. This paper mainly includes the research on the current situation of China's pan-entertainment industry chain, aiming to achieve the research on the current situation and future development feasibility of the domestic pan-entertainment industry; It also includes the case analysis of Alpha Group Entertainment Company, aiming to draw the experience of the development of domestic pan-entertainment industry through the research of domestic leading enterprises, and provide successful case experience for other pan-entertainment companies in China.

Successful prophylaxis of ESBL Enterobacteriaceae repetitive urinary tract infections with subcutaneous temocillin: a case report.

Temocillin is an antibiotic belonging to the β-lactam family, introduced in 1988 but soon forgotten because of its narrow spectrum. Recently, it has been repurposed for its effectiveness against ESBL Enterobacteriaceae, and represents an alternative of choice to carbapenems due to its limited impact on the microbiota. We present here a successful case of antibiotic prophylaxis of recurrent ESBL urinary tract infections with subcutaneously administered temocillin. Temocillin is rarely administered subcutaneously and even more rarely in prophylactic situations. However, its tolerance profile and low impact on the microbiota should help reconsideration of its use in particular cases like this one.

Mediation for the resolution of international economic conflicts. Effective approaches and perspectives

The purpose of this study was to examine mediation as a mechanism for resolving international economic conflicts and to identify effective approaches for their resolution. International economic conflicts are an integral part of today's globalized economy, contributing significantly to the complication of international relations and threatening sustainable development. This article examines the effectiveness and potential of mediation as a tool for resolving international economic conflicts. In particular, the article analyzes the advantages of using mediation, stages of its application, successful practices, as well as challenges and prospects for the development of this method of dispute resolution.
 In the modern world, international economic conflicts are becoming more and more relevant and complex. These conflicts can have serious consequences for states, corporations and international relations in general. This article explores the role and importance of mediation as an effective tool for resolving international economic disputes.
 The purpose of this article is to analyze the use of mediation in resolving international economic conflicts, to identify the advantages of this method, to review its stages and challenges, and to present the prospects for the development of this approach, to understand the essence of mediation and its basic principles. An overview of the advantages of this method, such as preserving business relationships and taking into account the interests of the parties is presented, analyzing the sequence of stages of the mediation process and their role in achieving a settlement. Successful mediation cases are examined in detail, emphasizing the importance of the mediator's role and the advantages of mediation over other dispute resolution methods.
 The limitations of mediation are also discussed and ways to overcome them are suggested. The article concludes by presenting possible directions for the development of mediation, such as integration into international law and the use of modern technologies.
 As a result of the study, it can be concluded about the importance of mediation in resolving international economic conflicts. Its flexibility, focus on the interests of the parties and ability to preserve long-term relationships make mediation an indispensable tool in modern international practice.

Digitalization of operations and supply chains: Insights from survey and case studies

PurposeThis article aims to understand where industry is in terms of digitalizing their operations, what features of this transformation are essential for practitioners, and what barriers they are facing during their journey. In addition, the authors aim to provide recommendations for organization to start their digital transformation.Design/methodology/approachThrough literature review, the authors summarize the emerging tools and technologies in operations and supply chains to inform the practitioners. Then, the authors use surveys conducted on 183 operations and supply chain professionals, and use statistical tools to examine the association between variables of the data set. The authors present real-life case studies to explain important steps of a digital transformation project.FindingsThe survey results indicate that real-time monitoring and data analytics are viewed as the most important and needed tools for organizations. High cost, lack of stakeholder buy-in and lack of successful business use cases are major barriers for companies when starting a digital transformation.Practical implicationsThe authors provide recommendations for practitioners based on the survey responses, and outline that starting small, focusing on stakeholder buy-in and implementation of software are the three key steps for a successful transformation journey.Originality/valueMain contributions of this article are to understand practitioner perspectives in digitalization and provide guidelines for organizations to follow when transforming their operations. This research closes the gap between academic research and practice by collaborating with operations and supply chain professionals.

AI and Chat GPT in Language Teaching: Enhancing EFL Classroom Support and Transforming Assessment Techniques

The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and Chat GPT technology in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction has ushered in transformative changes in language learning and assessment. This essay explores the multifaceted impact of AI and Chat GPT on EFL education, emphasizing their role in personalized language learning, real-time language practice, and examination techniques. AI facilitates personalized language learning by tailoring lessons to individual students' needs, promoting deeper language understanding. Real-time language practice is enhanced through dynamic interactions with AI-powered chatbots, which provide immediate feedback, boosting proficiency and confidence. In examination techniques, AI automates grading and feedback, improving efficiency and consistency, while also enhancing test security. The integration of AI and Chat GPT raises ethical considerations regarding privacy, equity, and responsible AI usage. Successful case studies, including Duolingo's language learning platform, Chat GPT in EFL classrooms, and ExamSoft's examination software, highlight the practical benefits of AI integration. The future of EFL education lies in a collaborative relationship between human teachers and AI, addressing challenges and limitations while prioritizing ethical considerations, equitable access, and meaningful human interaction. The potential for a more effective and engaging EFL learning experience is achievable with a commitment to these principles.

An intelligent garment recommendation system based on case-based reasoning technology

Garment purchasing through the Internet has become an important trend for consumers. However, various garment e-shopping systems, systematically lack personalized recommendations, like sales advisors in classical shops, to propose the most relevant products to different consumers according to their consumer profiles and successful recommendation cases. In this paper, we propose a consumer-oriented recommendation system by Case-based reasoning techniques and Similarity degree of fuzzy sets, which can be used in a garment online shopping system like a virtual sales advisor. This system has been developed by integrating successful recommendation cases and taking into account consumer profiles. It can effectively help consumers to choose garments from the Internet. Compared with other prediction methods, the proposed method is more robust and interpretable owing to its capacity to treat uncertainty. This paper presents an original method for predicting one or several relevant product profiles from the similarity degree between a specific consumer profile and a successful cases database.

Assessment of the regional potential of technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation

Aim. To identify the regions with a high potential for ensuring technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation (RF).Objectives. To perform a structural analysis of non-resource exports and imports of the RF regions; to propose a methodological approach to the development of typology of regions according to the criterion “the level of import dependence of production”; to identify the regional nuclei of technological sovereignty of the Russian Federation.Methods. Two-stage structural analysis of statistical data on regional exports and imports with the allocation of the share of goods with low and high level of processing, as well as with the definition of the purpose of products: production or for consumption by the population. The choice of the research period is conditioned by the absence in 2019 of the influence of the factor of the decline in global production during the COVID-19 pandemic in the following years, as well as the absence of the pressure exerted by sanctions restrictions.Results. 12 types of Russian regions were defined according to the criterion “high, medium and low levels of technological import dependence of the industrial complex”. The second level of the regional typologization depth is determined by the ratio of such indicators as the share of industrial technological export of the region in the country’s export, the share of industrial technological export of the region in the country’s technological export, the share of industrial technological import of the region in the country’s import, the share of industrial technological import of the region in the country’s technological import. Structural analysis allowed us to identify the regions - the nuclei of technological sovereignty of the country.Conclusions. First of all, it is necessary to study the experience of economic activity of seven regions that have exports of technological products at a high level with a low level of technological import dependence of industry. Among these regions are the Irkutsk, Arkhangelsk, Penza oblasts, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Altai Krai, the Republic of Mari El, and the Komi Republic. Two leading regions of the listed subjects of the Russian Federation deserve special attention: the Irkutsk Oblast and the Republic of Bashkortostan. It is important to highlight the most successful cases of their sectoral development to be used in other territories in order to ensure national technological sovereignty.

Nowadays, one of the main technological challenges that we are facing is the ability to provide a sustainable supply of clean energy and, among all renewable sources, solar energy displays the greatest potential. Recently, the development of novel synthetic strategies has led to the preparation of nanostructured materials displaying unique properties compared to the bulk counterpart systems, with controlled and tunable morphologies able to enhance the activity and selectivity of a heterogenous process.This talk will focus on the importance of tuning the morphological features of a catalyst as a strategy to improve its photoactivity, focusing on how rationally designing inorganic materials at the nanoscale can lead to shapes and structures suitable to enhance the performance of industrially and environmentally important processes. The talk will discuss some energy and environmental applications that can be addressed by multi-component systems synthesized via the bottom–up approach, highlighting their structure-reactivity relationship. Sub-Gluteus Maximus Fascial Plane and Perineural Hydrodissection as Novel Treatment for Posterior Femoral Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment.

Posterior femoral cutaneous nerve (PFCN) entrapment due to overuse is rarely reported in the literature, and treatment is limited. Conventional treatment includes focused rehabilitation exercises, computed tomography-guided or magnetic resonance (MR)-guided nerve blocks, MR-guided cryoablation, and surgical decompression, but data for treatment validation and efficacy are lacking. Sub-gluteus maximus fascial plane and perineural hydrodissection may offer an effective alternative treatment for PFCN entrapment, especially given reports of successful cases with similar procedural techniques in other anatomical locations and structures.

Key lessons learned from adopting relational principles in the public sector: a case study in california.

Alternative project delivery methods that support collaboration are gaining significant attention in the public sector in the U.S., with increasing examples of owners that transform their traditional delivery methods into ones that reflect relational contracting principles. These approaches are new and despite their proven benefits, their widespread is hindered by the novelty and unfamiliarity nature. The aim of this paper was to contribute to bridge this gap. The key elements associated with relational principles were drawn from the literature and discussed in the light of an empirical case in California. This successful case study provides evidence that these elements can work, even with the limitations commonly observed in the public sector. The paper discusses observed best practices and reveals some practical insights from a project team that was implementing relational elements in the public sector for the first time. The findings of this study will hopefully contribute to the widespread of these practices, and inspire academics and practitioners to initiate or continue their journey towards more collaborative project delivery methods in the construction industry.

The 5G race: is Colombia lagging behind in implementation and information security?

Introduction:This article focuses on analyzing “The 5G Race: Is Colombia Lagging Behind in Implementation and Information Security?”, through a literature review developed at the Universidad Distrital in 2023.Problem:Despite successful pilot schemes, Colombia has not achieved large-scale 5G deployments like other nations. The following problematic question arises: How is Colombia faring in implementing successful 5G ca-ses compared to other countries in terms of regulatory and information security aspects?Objective:To compile up-to-date literature on the progress of 5G worldwide and contrast it with Colombia, to determine regulatory, pilot and security challenges. Methodology:A search was conducted in academic and government databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, IEEE Xplore, SpringerLink, ScienceDirect and Google Scholar, focusing on identifying reports, case studies and articles on the current state of 5G worldwide and in Colombia. The keywords used in the search were: “5G”, “5G regulation”, “5G information security”, “Colombia”, “availability” among other related words.Results:The comparative analysis allows us to identify gaps and challenges in Colombia for a comprehensive implementation of 5G.Conclusion:The review suggests that Colombia is lagging behind in the adoption of 5G. Regulatory, infrastructure investment, and cybersecurity challenges remain.Originality:This article provides an up-to-date comparative analysis between the state of adoption of 5G tech-nology globally and in Colombia.Limitations:Focuses on success stories and regulatory, safety and pilot aspects.

Green Business and Environmental Sustainability

Given the growing awareness of environmental issues and the role firms play in escalating them, green business and environmental sustainability have emerged as fundamental principles for contemporary businesses. With a focus on sustainability, companies can reduce their environmental impact and yet be profitable. Resource efficiency, the use of renewable energy, waste reduction, the creation of eco-friendly products, and ethical supply chain management are some examples of green business practices that not only benefit the environment but also improve a company's reputation and financial performance. Sustainable business practices are largely adopted as a result of government laws and regulations. The benefits of green efforts are shown via successful case studies. The adoption of sustainability as a core value by organizations promotes a greener and more sustainable future for future generations, adding to the effort being made by everyone to address the environmental catastrophe.

Application of BIM in project management in China

As a nation that is quickly developing, Chinas construction industry faces a variety of issues. Despite the size and technical complexity of some Chinese projects, the old paper documents and two-dimensional drawing techniques are no longer adequate to meet demand. Chinas construction sector has enormous potential. Therefore, effective digital technology and the best project management are crucial for the growth of Chinas construction business. Throughout the whole life cycle of a construction project, including all phases of planning, design, building, operation, and maintenance, Building Information Modelling (BIM) can be used. This study intends to investigate the use of BIM in project management in China with a particular emphasis on how BIM impacts project design, construction, and operation. By analysing the successful cases of BIM in Chinas project management, the prospect and development of BIM in Chinas construction industry are discussed. In the whole process of project management, BIM improves quality, efficiency, sustainability and maintainability through various applications. It is intended to provide Chinas construction industry with a tool to promote the modernization and long-term growth of the industry.

Role of digital epidemiological technologies in controlling COVID-19: Cases review

The pandemic of COVID-19 had not only been testing the existing health care system globally, but also highlighting the need for more innovative and adaptive methods in dealing with new health threats. Digital technology become one of the most effective and efficient strategies in terms of controlling and monitoring the outbreak of this disease. These digital strategies will serve a significant role in providing valuable insights in disease and virus control for any upcoming event. This paper aims to discuss and evaluate the roles of digital technology methods in addressing COVID-19 pandemic, while focusing primarily on two case studies: COVIDSafe App from Australia and the EUs Digital COVID Certificate. While confronting the challenge raised by COVID-19, the world had invented critical digital tools as instruments to monitor, track, and manage the spread of virus. By taking a deeper look at the history, technology, and application of the successful cases, the author hopes to draw important lessons from these experiences, and foreshadowing some broader potentials for their future development and usage. Additionally, the author also analyzes the legal and privacy concerns that may come with the adaption of digital technology in fighting the pandemic, and underscore the implication of technological methods advancement for future health crisis.

How to predict the entry mode of international construction contractor: a case-based reasoning approach

PurposeThis study aimed to identify a specific taxonomy of entry modes for international construction contractors and to develop a decision-making mechanism based on case-based reasoning (CBR) to facilitate the selection of the most suitable entry modes.Design/methodology/approachAccording to the experience orientation of the construction industry, a CBR entry mode decision model was established, and based on successful historical cases, a two-step refinement process was carried out to identify similar situations. Then the validity of the model is proved by case analysis.FindingsThis study identified an entry mode taxonomy for international construction contractors (ICCs) and explored their decision-making mechanisms. First, a two-dimension model of entry mode for ICCs was constructed from ownership and value chain dimensions; seven common ICC entry modes were identified and ranked according to market commitment. Secondly, this study reveals the impact mechanism of the ICC entry mode from two aspects: the external environment and enterprise characteristics. Accordingly, an entry mode decision model is established.Practical implicationsFirstly, sorting out the categories of entry mode in the construction field, which provide an entry mode list for ICCs to select. Secondly, revealing the impact mechanism of ICC entry mode, which proposes a systematic decision-making system for the selection of ICC entry mode. Thirdly, constructing a CBR entry mode decision-making model from an empirical perspective, which offers tool support and reduces transaction costs in the decision-making process.Originality/valueThe study on entry modes for ICCs is still in the preliminary exploratory stage. The authors investigate the entry mode categories and decision-making mechanisms for ICCs based on Uppsala internationalization process theory. It widens the applied scope of Uppsala and promotes cross-disciplinary integration. In addition, the authors creatively propose a two-stage retrieval mechanism in the CBR model, which considers the order of decision variables. It refines the influence path of the decision variables on ICCs' entry mode.

Measuring societal attitudes and behaviours towards radon indoors: A case study of Slovenia

Public opinion surveys play a crucial role in assessing public awareness, knowledge, and radon risk perception in the context of national Radon Action Plans. However, many of these surveys are constructed without a solid foundation in behavioural theories, health protection theory, or social science methodology. This lack of foundation can lead to misguided priorities in radon mitigation interventions and ineffective communication strategies, ultimately resulting in low compliance with testing and mitigation in private homes. By developing and testing scales that measure a wide range of theory-based socio-psychological concepts influencing protective behaviour of individuals facing radon risk, this study provides researchers, authorities, and practitioners with a useful and versatile survey tool to explore the complexity of human behaviour in the context of radon. The results of this survey, conducted in Slovenia with a representative sample of respondents from low, middle, and high radon risk areas (N = 2012), offer a foundation for assessing gaps and strategies to increase testing and remediation of homes. The findings suggest that communication interventions need to be more precisely tailored to specific population groups and should go beyond enhancing awareness, knowledge and radon risk perception. Effective strategies should evoke emotions, share personal stories, highlight successful mitigation cases, and use personal testimonies from individuals affected by lung cancer. Moreover, incorporating positive social norms can inspire more individuals to engage in testing and mitigation measures. Assessing theory-driven socio-psychological concepts through a survey allows researchers and policymakers to craft more effective strategies aimed at promoting radon testing and mitigation, thereby enhancing overall public health.

Comparison of manual, machine learning, and hybrid methods for video annotation to extract parental care data

Measuring parental care behaviour in the wild is central to the study of animal ecology and evolution, but it is often labour‐ and time‐intensive. Efficient open‐source tools have recently emerged that allow animal behaviour to be quantified from videos using machine learning and computer vision techniques, but there is limited appraisal of how these tools perform compared to traditional methods. To gain insight into how different methods perform in extracting data from videos taken in the field, we compared estimates of the parental provisioning rate of wild house sparrows Passer domesticus from video recordings. We compared four methods: manual annotation by experts, crowd‐sourcing, automatic detection based on the open‐source software DeepMeerkat, and a hybrid annotation method. We found that the data collected by the automatic method correlated with expert annotation (r = 0.62) and further show that these data are biologically meaningful as they predict brood survival. However, the automatic method produced largely biased estimates due to the detection of non‐visitation events, while the crowd‐sourcing and hybrid annotation produced estimates that are equivalent to expert annotation. The hybrid annotation method takes approximately 20% of annotation time compared to manual annotation, making it a more cost‐effective way to collect data from videos. We provide a successful case study of how different approaches can be adopted and evaluated with a pre‐existing dataset, to make informed decisions on the best way to process video datasets. If pre‐existing frameworks produce biased estimates, we encourage researchers to adopt a hybrid approach of first using machine learning frameworks to preprocess videos, and then to do manual annotation to save annotation time. As open‐source machine learning tools are becoming more accessible, we encourage biologists to make use of these tools to cut annotation time but still get equally accurate results without the need to develop novel algorithms from scratch.

Ensartinib is effective in the treatment of advanced non-small-cell lung cancer with MET amplification after multi-line ALK-TKIs resistance: a case report.

Although patients with ALK-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) are initially effective on treatment with ALK tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance will inevitably develop. Of these patients, 2/3 will develop ALK-independent resistance and little is known about the mechanisms of ALK-independent resistance. In pre-clinical studies, the activation of several bypass signaling pathways has been implicated in the development of resistance, including the MET, EGFR, SRC and IGF1R pathways. Among these, the MET pathway is one of the signaling pathways that has recently been extensively studied, and activation of this pathway is one of the mechanisms of ALK-independent drug resistance. Here, we report a successful case of an advanced NSCLC patient who was resistant to treatment with ALK TKIs and developed MET amplification, who achieved 23 months of progression-free survival after post-line treatment with ensartinib.

Research on the Gap Between Urban and Rural Teacher Resources Based on Data and Case Analysis

With the development of society, the trend of urbanization is becoming clearer and faster. Despite its advantages, this trend also brings education an unignorable problem: The diverse Urban-Rural Gaps of Teachers. For students from rural areas, the gap in teacher resources may cause them hard to get sufficient education and can’t accumulate enough knowledge to live a better life as a result. Although this is a significant problem, only a few papers offer this topic. So the author will introduce this topic and discuss the possible solutions to it by data analysis and successful cases reference. In conclusion, the Urban-rural gap in teachers’ number has been narrowed a lot in recent years but the teacher-student ratio still remains unreasonable. The teacher quality gap between urban and rural areas is being widened with the Informatization, especially in the academic qualifications, age structure and on-the-job training preference. To gradually narrow the gap, Japan's "Teacher Regular Flow System" and "Special Allowance System" can be referred to by China. Also, the government should increase the financial support for teaching in rural areas as well as encourage informatization in poor counties in order to strengthen the attractiveness of talent in rural areas.
