Strategic cooperation of high tech companies of China and Russia

The sanctions imposed on the Russian economics in 2022 by a number of countries created an external shock for many industries in Russia with the strongest impact on the enterprises of high tech industries. At the same time, there is an emerging potential for cooperation between Russian and Chinese manufacturers which is forming new strategies of development of Russian high tech enterprises. In order to evaluate the prospects and trends of development of Chinese high tech industry in this context, the authors applied methods of economic analysis including the correlation analysis. Factors, determining potential of cooperation between Russia and China in this sphere, were systematized on the basis of the methodology of strategizing by Professor Vladimir L. Kvint.It has been stated that Chinese manufacturers are able to replace either partially or completely European and American suppliers in a number of high tech industries: innovative components and equipment for engineering, semiconductors and chips, telecommunications equipment and components. It has been discovered that the number of registered patents and the number of researchers involved in RD in China have a significant correlation with the growth of export of high tech products of China. Further growth will be able to ensure the expansion of technology and knowledge exports from China to Russia.Thus, it can be stated for sure that there are perspective industries and fields of Russia-China cooperation in high tech industry. The sphere of cooperation which can become the basis for the strategy of development of Russian high tech manufacturers is scientific and patent cooperation with Chinese organizations. The authors have also discovered limitations in this cooperation: there is a threat of imposing international sanctions on Chinese manufacturers; Chinese enterprises are working at a high level of workload in the context of the global economic recovery after the coronavirus pandemic; decrease of competitiveness of Russian high tech industry has a negative impact on the expected benefits from the cooperation between the countries. These strategic threats can be overcome with the help of a well-grounded foreign economic strategy developed by Russian and Chinese authorities.

Customer-driven innovation: examining the nexus of trust, IT, knowledge absorption, and involvement in NPD success

This paper explores the interplay among trust, IT utilization, knowledge absorption, and customer involvement in new product development and their impact on new product development performance. Based on an empirical analysis of 283 survey responses from global manufacturing firms, the study reveals key insights: (1) Trust and IT utilization positively influence knowledge absorption, with trust having a stronger impact; (2) Knowledge absorption directly enhances new product development performance; and (3) Customer involvement positively moderates the relationship between knowledge absorption and product new product development performance. This study enhances our understanding of new product development dynamics, illustrating how these factors collectively shape successful product development outcomes in the rapidly evolving business landscape.

Mengoptimalkan Pengembangan Desa Wisata Jeruk Manis melalui Pembuatan Tourist Information dan Fasilitas Changing Room

Jeruk Manis Village is a village resulting from the expansion of Kembang Kuning Village, after its expansion Jeruk Manis established itself with new branding as a tourist village that is already known for its natural beauty and green rice fields that refresh the eyes. In its efforts to build a tourist village that promises visitors, Jeruk Manis has not provided adequate facilities such as the lack of tourist information for visitors, as well as inadequate changing rooms in several tourist attractions. Therefore, the purpose of KKN PMD University of Mataram for the July-August 2024 period is to optimize tourism in Jeruk Manis Village through making Tourist Information and improving Changing Room facilities. The implementation method used is field survey, location planning, design or design, and program implementation (production and promotion). The results obtained from the making of Tourist Information and Changing Room improvements have a stronger impact on the progress of the branding of the Jeruk Manis Tourism Village, with Tourist Information being a reference for foreign visitors when visiting Jeruk Manis Village. In addition, the placement of the Changing Room made of bamboo which adds to the attractiveness also ensures the comfort of visitors.

Analysis of the impact of digital literacy on life satisfaction (2019–2022) for older adults in South Korea: a national community-based panel study

This study analyzed the effects of digital literacy on life satisfaction in older adults aged 65 years and above in modern day Korea. It utilized raw data from the 2019–2022 Report on the Digital Divide, an annual survey conducted by the Korean Ministry of Science and Information and Communications Technology. A total of 4,216 participants were assessed from 2019–2022. Correlation between digital literacy and life satisfaction was analyzed using Pearson correlation analysis and polynomial linear regression analysis. Life satisfaction was significantly positively correlated with digital access, digital competency, and digital utilization in all the years. In 2019, participants’ life satisfaction score rose significantly by 0.15 with every one-point increase in digital competency. It further rose by 0.035 in 2020, 0.030 in 2021, and 0.116 in 2022. Digital literacy was consistently positively correlated with life satisfaction in each year from 2019–2022. Of the three main elements, digital competency had the strongest impact and digital information, income, and education level also significantly impacted life satisfaction. While digital competency improved steadily from 2019 to 2022, it remains below 50% for Korea’s older adult population. Further efforts are required to improve digital competency and subsequent life satisfaction among Korea’s older adult population.

Uncovering the Mystery of Tax Collection and Money Supply in Targeting Industrial Success: A Case Study of Singapore

The economic vitality or momentum of any economy is contingent upon the success of the industrial sector. The rise in industrial production indicates economic progress, improved livelihoods, enhanced access to necessities and increased domestic investments. Economic strength transforms into economic weakness if the industrial sector is not producing the desired outcome. This study investigates how tax revenue and money supply relate to Singapore's industrial production in order to understand more about the shifting trends in the country's industrial output. This study takes into account FDI inflows, domestic listed companies and electric power consumption as controlling factors of industrial production function. The ARDL bounds test has been employed over the period from 1980-2022. The empirical findings provide evidence of cointegrating relation between industrial production and its regressors in the long run. The results further demonstrate that tax revenue as an instrument for fiscal policy and money supply as an instrument for monetary policy are significantly escalating industrial production but between both, money supply has a stronger impact on industrial production. This study suggests that expansionary monetary policy and expansionary fiscal policy may be adopted to accelerate industrial production in Singapore while keeping the cost of conducting these policies in mind. Furthermore, FDI inflows and domestic listed companies are also advised to be encouraged as these give a boost to industrial production.

Participative management style in SMEs: Influence of CSR factors. Empirical evidence from the Visegrad Group

The aim of this study was to define significant corporate social responsibility (CSR) factors that determine the use of participative management style in SMEs and quantify this influence. In order to achieve this objective, a questionnaire survey was conducted on a sample of 1,398 SMEs across V4 countries. The data was collected through computer-assisted web interviewing by MNFORCE, a well-known market research firm. The empirical research was conducted in June 2022. The fundamental relationships and interconnections between CSR and the use of a participatory management approach were substantiated through the application of regression analysis. The research results demonstrated that a portion of these CSR factors significantly affects the application of participative leadership in SMEs. The strongest impact is observed for entrepreneurs' belief that CSR makes it possible to acquire satisfied, loyal, and motivated employees. The second most significant factor determining the application of participative leadership style was factor X3 (the average value of the correlation coefficient was 0.208). The potential opportunity to gain competitive advantage through the implementation of CSR also motivates entrepreneurs to apply participative leadership in SMEs; as the third most significant factor, it had an average correlation coefficient of 0.199. Finally, entrepreneurs' belief that implementing CSR has an impact on improving firm performance also proved motivating for SMEs. This study has significant practical implications. The results should motivate managers to implement essential attributes of the CSR concept, especially concerning their own employees. Managers should also recognize the importance of assessing and implementing appropriate HRM policies regarding skills, motivation, and opportunities for their employees in order to enhance business performance.

Energy poverty and household development resilience: Household level evidence from China

Energy poverty is a significant challenge facing sustainable human development and a key constraining factor for household development. Based on theoretical analysis, this study utilizes data from the Chinese Family Panel Studies (CFPS) conducted from 2012 to 2020 to analyze the impact of energy poverty on household development resilience and explore its underlying mechanisms through the Bootstrap method. The findings reveal the following: Firstly, energy poverty significantly reduces household development resilience, and this conclusion remains robust after addressing endogeneity issues and conducting a series of robustness tests. Secondly, energy poverty restricts household development by compromising health, educational levels, and internet access. Thirdly, the constraining effect of energy poverty on household development resilience exhibits heterogeneity, with a stronger impact in urban areas than rural areas and in eastern regions than central and western regions. Fourthly, further analysis suggests that the use of solid fuels significantly reduces household development resilience, whereas the utilization of clean energy facilitates the enhancement of household development resilience. This study provides important policy implications for addressing energy poverty and promoting long-term household development, serving as a reference for other developing countries.

Study on Online Shopping Intention for Technology Products among Generation Z in Ho Chi Minh City

The purpose of this study is to explore the factors influencing the online shopping intentions for technology products among Generation Z in Ho Chi Minh City. The article utilizes an integrated model of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and the extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), including the following factors: (1) Perceived Usefulness (CN), (2) Perceived Ease of Use (SD) affecting “Perceived Behavioral Control” (NTKS); (3) Perceived Behavioral Control (NTKS), (4) Subjective Norms (CCQ); (5) Attitude (TD) influencing the “Online shopping intention for technology products among Generation Z in Ho Chi Minh City” (YD). The research results show that “Perceived Behavioral Control” (NTKS) has the strongest impact on the online shopping intentions for technology products among Generation Z (YD), with an influence level of 0.676; the “Subjective Norms” (CCQ) factor has an influence level of 0.295 on the YD variable. The “Perceived Usefulness” (CN) factor has an influence level of 0.628 on NTKS; the “Perceived Ease of Use” (SD) factor has an influence level of 0.295 on NTKS. The “Attitude” (TD) factor does not have statistically significant evidence to conclude its impact on the dependent variable “Online Shopping Intention for Technology Products among Generation Z” (YD). Based on the research findings, the author provides several discussions and suggestions to enhance the online shopping intentions for technology products among Generation Z for manufacturers and businesses in this market.

Short-term impact of cardiovascular screening by traditional risk assessment or coronary artery calcium score on health-related quality of life: the ROBINSCA trial.

Evidence on the impact of screening for cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) is important for policy decisions about screening implementation and to uncover teachable moments to motivate healthy lifestyle choices. It is unknown whether screening by cardiac computed tomography (CT) scan has a stronger impact on HRQoL than screening by traditional risk prediction models. The study aims to investigate differences in HRQoL across the screening process between participants who were randomized to CVD risk estimation by coronary artery calcium score or Systematic COronary Risk Evaluation. A subset of 2687 ROBINSCA participants filled in questionnaires at (T0) randomization, (T1) invitation, (T2) 1-3 days before screening, (T3) 1-3 days after, and (T4) screening result. Generic HRQoL (SF-12; EQ-5D) and anxiety (STAI-6) were measured. We investigated the differences in changes in HRQoL across the screening process with linear mixed models. We found comparable levels of HRQoL at all screening moments for the two intervention groups. Mental health scores were worse at invitation and randomization than at the later time points, irrespective of screening group (all P < 0.001). A result indicating a heightened CVD risk was associated with increased anxiety in the CT screening group. Computed tomography screening for CVD risk has no detrimental impact on HRQoL and anxiety levels compared to screening by traditional risk assessment. Receiving an invitation to screenning or a result implying increased CVD risk could function as teachable moments for high-risk individuals. The Effect of Environmental Management and Sustainability on Destination Image and Tourist Revisits at Tourism Destinations in Bandung

This study investigates the impact of environmental management and sustainability practices on the destination image and tourist revisit intentions at tourism destinations in Bandung City. Employing a quantitative research design, data were collected from 160 tourists using a Likert scale survey. Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) was utilized for data analysis. The findings reveal that both environmental management and sustainability practices positively influence destination image, which in turn significantly affects tourists' intentions to revisit. Notably, sustainability practices have a stronger impact on both destination image and revisit intentions compared to environmental management alone. These results underscore the importance of integrating comprehensive sustainability strategies into tourism planning to enhance destination competitiveness and attract environmentally conscious tourists. The study provides practical insights for tourism managers and policymakers aiming to foster sustainable tourism growth in Bandung City.

Analysis of the Impact of Mobile Banking Technology, Fintech, and Digital Transaction Security on Customer Loyalty at BUMN Banks in Indonesia

This study investigates the impact of mobile banking technology, fintech innovations, and digital transaction security on customer loyalty at state-owned banks in Indonesia. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 300 respondents through a structured questionnaire with a Likert scale ranging from 1 (Strongly Disagree) to 5 (Strongly Agree). The data were analyzed using SPSS version 25, employing descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, exploratory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that all three independent variables—mobile banking technology, fintech innovations, and digital transaction security—positively and significantly influence customer loyalty. Mobile banking technology had a correlation coefficient of 0.62, fintech innovations 0.57, and digital transaction security 0.68 with customer loyalty. The regression analysis showed that these factors collectively explained 38% of the variance in customer loyalty, with digital transaction security having the strongest impact. The findings underscore the importance of enhancing technological capabilities and security measures to foster customer loyalty in state-owned banks. The study provides valuable insights for banking institutions seeking to improve customer satisfaction and retention through advanced technological solutions and robust security protocols.

The Perspective of Romanian Patients on Continuous Therapy for Multiple Myeloma.

This study included 155 adult MM patients from Fundeni Clinical Institute in Romania, receiving continuous therapy with daratumumab, proteasome inhibitors, immunomodulators, or bi-specific antibodies. The patients had varied economic, social, and educational backgrounds. We developed a questionnaire to interrogate the quantitative and qualitative effect of the therapy on the patients' personal and professional life and to identify the side effects that had the strongest impact on their quality of life. 74.83% of the patients reported that the treatment they received negatively impacted their quality of life. Among them, 40% considered that the most detrimental aspects of the therapy are the financial burden and the negative impact on their professional life. One-third of the patients reported that the therapy negatively impacted their personal life and that it had a deleterious effect on their relationship with their partner and family members. In terms of the side effects experienced, patients considered that tiredness was the main factor causing a decrease in their quality of life, followed by insomnia and bone pain. Despite this, almost none of the patients considered dropping the therapy, and almost half of the patients considered that the frequent visits to the hospital offered them psychological comfort. In addition, more than 70% of the patients declared that they were afraid to stop the therapy if given the choice, with the main concerns being the fear of an early relapse. Although continuous therapy is associated with a high financial burden and a negative impact on both professional and personal life, the frequent visits to the hospital appear to be reassuring. Moreover, the patients would not opt for treatment discontinuation and felt safer when monitored frequently.

The Role of Labor Force, Physical Capital, and Energy Consumption in Shaping Agricultural and Industrial Output in Pakistan

The labor force, physical capital, and energy sources are key economic drivers that enhance the output levels of developing economies. Despite their significance, the impact of these factors on agricultural and industrial output in Pakistan remains underexplored. This study aims to address this gap by examining the effects of the labor force, physical capital, and energy consumption—including electricity, oil, and gas—on agricultural and industrial output. Additionally, we explore the combined effects of electricity and oil consumption on these sectors. Based on unit root test results, which indicate that the variables as either I(0) or I(1), the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) technique is selected. This method is particularly effective for handling mixed integration orders and provides robust estimates in small sample sizes, allowing for a thorough examination of both short- and long-run dynamics. Using annual time-series data from Pakistan for the period 1990–2022, the empirical results reveal that higher levels of the labor force, physical capital, electricity consumption, oil consumption, and gas consumption significantly increase agricultural and industrial output in both the short and long run. Furthermore, the findings reveal that the combined effect of electricity and oil consumption has a stronger impact on agricultural and industrial output compared to their individual effects. These results are further validated using alternative econometric techniques such as DOLS and FMOLS. To enhance Pakistan’s agricultural and industrial performance, policies should prioritize investment in human capital and physical capital development, ensure reliable and efficient energy supplies, and promote integrated energy management strategies. These steps are crucial for fostering sustainable economic growth and productivity in both sectors.

Do regional tax incentive policies improve productivity?

The difficulty in transforming old industrial areas constitutes a significant factor contributing to regional development imbalances. Can regional tax incentives, as a crucial component of regional policies, polish the "rust belt" regions? This study leverages the inaugural Value-Added Tax (VAT) reform in China as an opportunity to explore the potential of regional tax incentives in achieving sustainable development in traditional industrial areas. Drawing upon a comprehensive industrial enterprise database, we employ a Propensity Score Matching-Difference in Differences (PSM-DID) approach to examine the efficacy of these tax incentives. Our findings reveal that: (1) Regional tax incentives primarily enhance firms productivity by stimulating investment in enterprises, yet they do not contribute to improved investment efficiency or spur innovation within firms. (2) Regional tax incentives have alleviated financing constraints for enterprises in old industrial bases, significantly enhancing the Total Factor Productivity (TFP) of firms with higher financing constraints. This policy has had an even stronger impact on improving the TFP of state-owned and monopolistic enterprises. (3) Regional tax incentives have impeded productivity growth by preventing the exit of low-efficiency firms and the entry of high-efficiency ones. These incentives also increased the likelihood of "zombie firms" forming and failed to promote endogenous economic growth in the Northeast region. Additionally, they have distorted the allocation of resources towards capital and technology-intensive industries in that area. In China's old industrial bases, regional tax incentives should be coordinated with market-oriented reforms; these regional tax incentive policies should also be further enriched.

Analysis of the Economic Factors Influencing Rural Tourism Based on the Grey Relational Method: A Case Study of Zhejiang Province

The development of rural tourism is a key task for the revitalisation of rural areas and is of great significance for narrowing the gap between urban and rural areas and achieving shared prosperity. Zhejiang Province is one of the first provinces in China to develop rural tourism. Studying the factors influencing the economic impact of rural tourism in recent years is a reference for other provinces and cities to develop rural tourism and achieve rural revitalisation. This paper selects the total number of rural tourism visitors, the total number of farmhouses, the total number of rural tourism employees and the total number of travel agencies as variables to study their relationship with the total output value of rural tourism. Based on the data from 2013 to 2023, the grey correlation method is used to conduct an empirical analysis. The results show that the total number of rural tourists and the total number of travel agencies have a stronger impact on the development of rural tourism economy.

This study investigates the impact of fashion consciousness and social media influencers on online fashion consumer behavior based on the extended theory of planned behavior. Research data from 350 consumers through questionnaire with 5-point Likert scale. The study used partial least squares structural modelling with SmartPLS 4.0 software to analyze the results. The findings show that social media influencers and fashion consciousness both influence consumers’ online fashion purchasing intentions. Among them, social media influencers have the strongest impact on online fashion purchase intention. The study’s outstanding findings show that influencers have a positive impact on consumers’ fashion consciousness. These findings provide management implications to help businesses, retailers and marketers come up with better solutions to attract customers and improve business efficiency.

This study aims to identify and analyze factors affecting the development of Digital marketing in Vietnamese businesses. Through combining qualitative (in-depth interviews) and quantitative (survey) research methods, the results show that there are six main groups of factors affecting the application and effectiveness of Digital marketing, including: (1) Awareness and knowledge of Digital marketing of business leaders, (2) Human resources and professional skills, (3) Investment budget for Digital marketing, (4) Information technology infrastructure and communications, (5) Market and consumer behavior, and (6) Government policies and regulations. Among them, the factor groups of awareness and knowledge of leaders, human resources and budget are considered to have the strongest impact. Based on these results, the study proposes a number of key solutions to promote sustainable Digital marketing development for Vietnamese businesses such as enhancing awareness and skills training for leaders and employees, the first priority. budget investment, building modern technological infrastructure, and completing the legal framework for support from the Government.

Conditions affecting the tourism development of a destination through visitors’ evaluation: The case of Sapa Town, Lao CAI Province, Vietnam

The research aims to determine the conditions that affect the tourism development of a destination through the evaluation of tourists (in the case of Sapa town, Lao Cai province, Vietnam). Using quantitative methods, the article uses SPSS software to process interview results from 400 tourists according to four groups of factors: (i) accessibility to public communication services, hotel amenities and hygiene, level of convenience and comfort of sightseeing transportation; (ii) the adequacy, capacity, and hygiene of the parking lot, the diversity and specificity of souvenirs, the attractiveness and diversity of entertainment activities, (iii) security issues, order, and safety and (iv) the quality of tourism human resources. The research results show a group of conditions, such as the adequacy, capacity, and hygiene of the parking lot, the diversity and specificity of souvenirs, and the attractiveness and diversity of entertainment activities. Location and natural landscape have the strongest impact on the development of a tourist destination. While factors in groups I, iii, and iV have a lower level of influence. From there, this study proposes policy implications for improving the service quality of the destination, such as: the issue of human resource training, the quality of infrastructure; renewing products and services, and diversifying local cultural experiences. In particular, the quality of human resources is an issue that needs improvement not only in Sapa but also for many tourist destinations in mountainous regions of Vietnam.

Selection of the method for determination of ignition delay of hypergolic propellants

Ignition delay is one of the most important parameters characterising hypergolic propellants. This parameter has a strong im-pact on thruster operation, especially during the cold start. Ignition delay influences the intensity of pressure rise and its peak values during the start of a thruster. High-pressure levels cause stress inside the chamber wall, which directly affects durability and safety. One of two measurement techniques is usually chosen to determine the ignition delay: visual and pressure-based methods. Visual methods are based on high-speed imaging and subsequent image analysis. In the pressure-based method, the pressure trace is analysed. In this study, both techniques were used together and compared in terms of ignition delay determination of hypergolic propellants igniting during the drop tests. The advantages and disadvantages of both techniques were indicated and described. In the setup used in the study, the visual method was found to be more accurate and reliable.

Social ties and food insecurity in woman‐headed households

AbstractFood insecurity is a global concern, as set in the Sustainable Development Goal 2. Previous research has focused on the demographics and socioeconomic determinants of food insecurity, while little attention has been paid to the role of social ties. Using a national representative survey of Chile, that includes a questionnaire to measure prevalence of food insecurity and 11 social ties, we estimate the prevalence of four groups using a sample of 70,677 households. Then, we focus on the sub‐sample of 29,203 woman‐headed households, who experience the largest food insecurity prevalence. We use a descriptive analysis, followed by a principal component analysis to aggregate 11 social ties in fewer components to assess the associations between social ties and food insecurity and to identify the ties with stronger impact. The results show that woman‐headed households, without a partner, have a prevalence of moderate or severe food insecurity of 32.8%, 30.9%, 24.7%, after none, one and two social ties, respectively. This decreasing trend is also observed in woman‐headed households with partners. We also found that the 11 social ties studied are highly correlated among them; they can be explained by two indexes—economic and education components. In particular, we found that economic and educational social ties are associated to a larger effect on food insecurity prevalence. This study provides evidence for policy‐makers regarding investment on social ties to tackle food insecurity.
