Green Innovation Among Transportation Enterprises in Guangdong, China Basis for Sustainable Development Model

With escalating global climate change and environmental challenges, green innovation has emerged as a pivotal strategy for enterprises to achieve sustainable development. This study investigates the status of green innovation and its impact on sustainable development within transportation enterprises in Guangdong Province. Data were gathered through questionnaires from six representative enterprises and analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and multiple regression methods. The findings indicate that while substantial progress has been made in applying green innovation technology systems, significant gaps persist in implementing green management concepts. Moreover, green innovation markedly enhances sustainable development performance, including cost reduction, market share growth, enterprise expansion, and improved technology transfer. However, its implementation is constrained by insufficient policy support, limited resource allocation, and inadequate employee engagement. Based on these insights, the study recommends prioritizing green management, integrating green innovation into strategic planning, fostering stronger collaboration with policymakers, and optimizing resource allocation to advance sustainable development goals.

Data-driven financial models for sustainable SME growth: Integrating green finance into small and medium enterprise strategies

In recent years, the increasing urgency to address climate change and environmental degradation has prompted a shift towards sustainable business practices, particularly within the realm of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). This paper explores the integration of green finance into the strategic frameworks of SMEs, examining how financial instruments and funding mechanisms can support environmentally sustainable practices while fostering economic growth. By assessing the current landscape of green finance, including green loans, bonds, and impact investing, the study identifies barriers SMEs face in accessing these resources. It highlights successful case studies where SMEs have effectively utilized green finance to implement energy-efficient technologies, sustainable supply chains, and eco-friendly product innovations. Furthermore, the paper proposes a strategic model for SMEs to incorporate green finance into their operations, emphasizing the importance of aligning with sustainability goals, enhancing stakeholder engagement, and leveraging partnerships with financial institutions. The findings underscore that integrating green finance not only contributes to environmental sustainability but also enhances the competitive advantage and resilience of SMEs in an evolving market landscape.

Exploring the Influencing Factors of Digital Transformation Effectiveness of Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs

Digital transformation is a significant strategy for enterprises to implement long-term business growth and high-quality development. This paper identifies the factors affecting the effectiveness of digital transformation of specialized and sophisticated SMEs; explores the configuration path of the six antecedent factors that jointly drive the enterprise to achieve high-effective digital transformation by using fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis. The findings illustrate no single factor can be a necessary and sufficient condition for the formation of the outcome variable; There are three main configuration paths that lead to a high-impact corporate digital transformation, which can be categorized as total factor driven, organization-environment oriented, and organization-environment dominated. As the most energetic and high-quality group of SMEs, Specialized and sophisticated SMEs plays an exemplary leading role in the direction of digital transformation. Therefore, the research sample in this paper is representative and provides some reference indicators for the government to formulate support policies, and also enlighten the thinking of other small and medium-sized enterprises on digital transformation. In addition, this paper explore concludes the key factors and configuration paths that influence the transformation effectiveness of Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs, which could provide practical guidance for managers to formulate digital transformation strategies and paths.

Intelligent Manufacturing and Green Innovation—Evidence from China’s Listed Manufacturing Firms

The realization of intelligent and green manufacturing represents two core challenges currently faced by manufacturing enterprises. The “Intelligent Manufacturing Pilot Demonstration List” issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the People’s Republic of China provides a sample of firms that have undergone stringent selection processes, demonstrating secure and controllable technological capabilities, with no intellectual property disputes. Using data from manufacturing firms listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen stock exchanges from 2011 to 2020, we identify those that implemented intelligent manufacturing based on the aforementioned pilot list from 2015 to 2019 as the treatment group and the remaining firms as the control group to investigate whether intelligent manufacturing increases the number of green patent applications. The findings indicate that the implementation of intelligent manufacturing significantly increases green patent applications by 3.676% through three main pathways: reducing the level of financing constraints, improving resource utilization efficiency, and increasing R&D investment. Heterogeneity analysis reveals that state-owned enterprises exhibit a significantly stronger promotion effect on green innovation post-implementation of intelligent manufacturing compared to non-state-owned enterprises, with enterprises in the western region demonstrating the most pronounced enhancement in green innovation. Based on these findings, we propose corresponding recommendations from the perspectives of policy support and enterprise strategy.

The Positive Effects of Self-Regulation Strategy in EFL Reading Dynamics

Amidst complex reading learning enterprises, it is fair to be acknowledged that globalized EFL learners need to improve their reading competencies and activate a self-regulation strategy to experience a positively sound reading learning atmosphere and become more strategic L2 readers knowing the reading strategies working best for their particular reading dynamics. This present small-scale qualitative investigation was conducted with the support of a library study approach to generate more reliable and apprehensible research results beneficial for the betterment of future reading learning dynamics. To achieve this main research objective, the researcher selectively selected 20 previous studies focusing on discovering the positive influences of self-regulation strategy in EFL reading enterprises. Thematic analysis was simultaneously employed while analyzing the previously obtained research results to yield more accurate themes that were rewarding and to pave more meaningful reading pathways for worldwide second language reading instructors and EFL learners. Based on the obtained research results, the internalization of the self-regulation strategy has successfully promoted more enjoyable reading learning processes where they can progressively transform into more autonomous L2 readers. As a point, these specifically attained research results strongly suggested globalized second language reading instructors cultivating EFL learners’ self-regulation growth at the onset of reading learning activities to gradually enable them to become high-achieving L2 readers. Environmental uncertainty, supply chain, and stability of sustainable green innovation:Based on micro evidence from energy-intensive enterprises

In the context of the low-carbon transformation of energy-intensive enterprises, the stability risks of continuous green innovation and their transmission mechanisms within the supply chain warrant attention. Specifically, will these stability risks be transmitted along the supply chain? If so, how are they transmitted? Therefore, this study focuses on Chinese energy-intensive enterprises and their upstream and downstream companies from 2008 to 2021. It explores the transmission effects of stability risks of continuous green innovation within the supply chain and the role of environmental uncertainty. By quantifying stability risk indicators of continuous green innovation and analyzing supply chain mechanisms, the study reveals the asymmetry of risk transmission and the directional and moderating effects of environmental uncertainty. The results indicate that stability risks of continuous green innovation primarily transmit upstream in the supply chain. Mechanism variables include financing constraints, degree of green transformation, and coordination of supply relationships. Additionally, the study finds that differences in supply structure contribute to heterogeneity in the transmission effect. These findings provide theoretical support for risk management strategies of energy-intensive enterprises in green innovation. It also provides practical guidance on strengthening coordination in green innovation and optimizing supply chain structure to reduce stability risk exposure.

МЕХАНІЗМ ФОРМУВАННЯ СТРАТЕГІЇ ІННОВАЦІЙНОГО РОЗВИТКУ БУДІВЕЛЬНИХ ПІДПРИЄМСТВ

The article identifies that as of today, Ukraine's construction industry is operating under challenging conditions during the period of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. It was found that in 2022, the construction sector lost its position in the structure of the country's GDP by 1.6%, compared to 2020-2021, where it accounted for 2.8%. It is determined that the share of the construction industry in the GDP throughout the examined period did not exceed 3%, which is significantly lower than the corresponding period in European countries. Additionally, the article examines the mechanism for forming a strategy of innovative development for construction enterprises, which enhances their competitiveness and adaptability to market changes. The key aspects of developing an innovation strategy for construction enterprises are described: improving production efficiency; enhancing the quality and durability of structures; adapting to market conditions; ensuring competitiveness; promoting sustainable development; improving working conditions and safety on-site; attracting investment and business growth. Key steps at the main stages of developing an innovation strategy are proposed, including an analysis of the external and internal environment, the determination of strategic goals, the development of innovative solutions, investment in resources and personnel, as well as strategy monitoring and adaptation. The importance of applying various methods and tools to optimize, increase productivity, and improve enterprise adaptability was emphasized. The proposed approach allows construction companies to enhance production efficiency and achieve sustainable development in the face of modern challenges and technological changes. Leveraging Six Values for Company Performance: Adaptation of Sustainable Business Model Innovation Strategies in Chinese Electric Vehicle Brand Enterprises

Business model innovation is crucial for enhancing company performance. This study aims to investigate the relationship between the six dimensions of sustainable business model innovation and company performance among Chinese electric vehicle brands. A structural equation model is constructed based on a comprehensive literature review and hypothesis development. Using PLS-SEM, this study empirically analyzes questionnaire data collected from the top 12 electric vehicle brands in China to explore the relationship between these six core dimensions and company performance. The results indicate that innovation in “value proposition to customers”, value creation, value delivery, and “value of residual” have a significantly positive impact on the performance of Chinese electric vehicle brands. However, value capture innovation and “value of after-sales service” innovation were not found to be statistically significant. This paper provides an in-depth analysis of the mechanism through which sustainable business model innovation impacts company performance, enriching the theoretical foundation of academic research in this field and broadening its practical applications in management.

ADEQUATE ASSESSMENT OF COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES THROUGH PORTER’S DIAMOND. APPLICATION TO BULGARIAN NON-FERROUS METALLURGY

The topics of competitive advantages and competitive strategies of the enterprise in the wine sector are becoming more and more relevant these days, given the fact that most enterprises operate under conditions of high competition and minimal amount of resources. Competitive advantages and competitive strategies are precisely one of the main processes that make the enterprise profitable, successful and profitable. The main objective of the present paper is to examine the importance of competitive advantages and competitive strategies for the metallurgical enterprise. An adequate assessment of competitive advantages through Porter’s Diamond Model involves analyzing the four key elements - factor conditions, demand conditions, related and supporting industries, and firm strategy, structure, and rivalry - along with the roles of government and chance. Applying this model to Bulgarian non-ferrous metallurgy, which includes industries producing metals like aluminum, copper, zinc, and lead, can help to assess the competitive position of the sector in the global and European markets. The main research methods used in the development are content analysis, comparison method, intuitive and systematic approach, analysis and synthesis method.

To Be Uniqueness or To Be Conformity? Exploring the Influence of Sense of Power on Consumers' Preference for Uniqueness

Continuously launching new products has become a key strategy for enterprises to enhance their market competitiveness, but this approach is not always effective due to variations in consumers' sense of power, which can influence their preferences for uniqueness. This article investigates the impact of sense of power on consumers' preferences for unique products through three sets of five experiments. The study found that high-power consumers tend to adopt an independent self-construal, which increases their preference for unique products. However, when making decisions for others, their preference for uniqueness decreases. In contrast, low-power consumers tend to adopt a dependent self-construal, which diminishes their preference for uniqueness, and this preference remains unaffected whether they are making decisions for themselves or for others. This article expands the research on uniqueness preferences and offers valuable insights for marketers in areas such as product design, promotion, and packaging.

Air pollution under formal institutions: The role of distrust environment

Formal trust is an important formal institution that may significantly impact the environment. This study uses regional distrust environment as a reverse proxy variable for formal trust and studies the impact of formal trust on corporate sulfur dioxide emissions. This study finds that the environment of distrust significantly increases the sulfur dioxide emission levels of enterprises, which means that formal trust affects the environmental management strategies of enterprises. This study also finds that some other formal institutional factors, which include marketization, the development of intermediate organizations, the legal system environment, and GDP levels, have moderating effects on the impact of distrust environment on corporate sulfur dioxide emissions. In addition, climatic conditions including temperature, humidity, and precedence, as well as the location of the enterprise, have certain moderation effects. Mechanism analysis indicates that distrust environment affects corporate sulfur dioxide emissions through the increase in coal sulfur content in enterprise production, the decrease in exhaust gas processing capacity, the reduction in financing capacity, and the decline in social and environmental responsibilities. Finally, this study finds through further analysis that the local government appears to have noticed this negative impact, and the regions with a distrust environment tend to increase their environmental regulation intensity.

Strategic Formation of Agricultural Market Clusters in Ukraine: Emerging as a Global Player

This study investigates the cluster approach to optimize strategies for agricultural enterprises in Ukraine, emphasizing geographical proximity as a key factor in cluster formation. The research applies Kohonen Self-Organizing Maps (SOMs) and Ward’s hierarchical clustering to classify enterprises based on storage capabilities, transport logistics, crop yields, and military risk exposure. By analyzing these factors, this study identifies distinct patterns of innovation adoption, strategic management, and economic resilience among the clusters. The findings highlight variations in competitiveness and resource efficiency, providing a detailed understanding of regional economic performance. Unlike previous research, this study offers a novel integration of conflict-related risks into the clustering methodology, revealing new insights into how military factors influence cluster dynamics. Comprehensive maps and diagrams illustrate the spatial and economic distribution of clusters, aiding in visual interpretation. The results propose strategic measures tailored to enhance agricultural productivity and competitiveness, particularly in Ukraine’s current military context. This approach offers a more adaptive framework for managing agricultural enterprises, promoting resilience and long-term sustainability in global markets.

Assessment of competitive advantages of IT system integrator companies taking industry factors into account

Purpose. To evaluate competitive advantages of IT system integrators in Ukraine. To investigate the influence of industry factors on the formation of competitive advantages using cases of the mining and fuel & energy industries. Methodology. The empirical basis of the study was presented by performance indicators of the leading system integrator companies of Ukraine. The methodological basis of the research was the scoring method using weight coefficients and the graphic method of creating a radial diagram of competitive advantages. During the research, the following methods were used: analysis and synthesis (to study the components of competitive advantages and to form integral indicators), induction and deduction (to form market trends and to identify enterprise strategies), classification (to form indicators that determine competitive advantages). Findings. In the process of research, a model of competitive advantages for system integrator companies was formed. A methodology was developed and an assessment of competitive advantages of the leading system integrators of IT industry of Ukraine was carried out. A radial diagram of competitive advantages was created. It allows performing a comparative analysis of the factors of company competitive advantages with the aim to form a development strategy to improve the competitive position of the company in the market. Features of influence of the industry factors on the formation of competitive advantages of system integrators were considered and this influence was evaluated using cases of the mining and fuel & energy industries. Originality. A model and methodology for assessing competitive advantages for system integrator companies in IT industry were proposed; the main factors of competitive advantages for system integrators have been identified. The necessity of taking industry factors into account when assessing the competitive advantages of these enterprises has been proposed and confirmed by the research results. Practical value. The applied value of the research lies in the possibility of applying the developed model and methodology to assess the competitive advantages of system integrators. The results of such an assessment can be used by system integrators to develop a competitive strategy and improve their competitive positions in the market. Customers (including enterprises in the mining and fuel & energy industries) can use evaluation elements when conducting procurement (tender) procedures for selection of contractors for the implementation of system integration projects. Also, the results of the study can be used for the analysis of the system integration market.

Development Strategy of Village Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in an Effort to Improve Community Welfare at Tropodo Village Sub-District of Krian Sidoarjo Regency

The aim of this research is to analyze the Development Strategy of Village-Owned Enterprises (Bumdes) In Efforts to Improve Community Welfare at Tropodo Village Sub-District of Krian Sidoarjo Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques use primary data obtained through interviews and secondary data obtained through observation, documentation, and journals. The author uses data analysis techniques from Miles (Sugiyono, 2013) namely, data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that th strategy for developing village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) namelu, first, human resources has been successful because changes in management structure have provided better development with the presence of far more business units. Second, for the management fund BUMDes Bumiasih has strategy that is able to provide a much wider source of funds. Third, regarding technology and information the use of e-mail and ms excel is the preferred technology to use. Fourth, facilities and infrastructure many changes have been made to futher develop BUMDes Bumiasih business units.
