The article presents the materials about the history of the creation and publishing activities of the journal “Engines Construction”, first in Leningrad (at the Central Research Diesel Institute — TSNIDI), then in St. Petersburg (at LLC «TSNIDI-Ecoservice»). Also, the article elaborates on the reasons for the transfer of the rights of the founder and publisher to the Bauman Moscow State Technical University. We show the main stages of the formation of the “Engines Construction”, journal as the leading scientific and engineering publication in the field of development of Russian marine, diesel, automotive and industrial engines are. The article talks about prominent scientists who collaborated with the editorial board and published in the journal. We give the journal scope within the framework of which scientific and technical articles are published on various topics of developing and improving engines for various purposes. Lastly, we present new scientific specialties for which the journal is being re-registered in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission (VAK) of the Russian Federation.
