SOME ASPECTS OF TRAINING IN BACHELOR-MASTER SYSTEM IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY

The article presents the results of theoretical analysis of the phenomena of informatisation of education, information society and two-level higher education. The specifics of training at the bachelor’s and master’s degrees are indicated, and the interdependence of the bachelor’s and master’s degrees is reflected. The authors conducted a comparative analysis of educational standards for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in pedagogic and psychological-pedagogic areas of training, both the current and previous versions. The results of the analysis indicate a tendency to increase the continuity of bachelor’s and master’s degrees, which is expressed in reducing the gap between the content of standards of the first and second stages of higher education. Also, the comparative analysis showed that in comparison with previous versions, the current standards of pedagogic and psychological-pedagogic directions are more similar to each other in terms of educational results. A crosscutting issue in the article is the use of Internet technologies in the context of two-level higher education and the development of informatisation of society. In the context of the increasing role of Internet technologies in educational activities, in the opinion of the authors, the systemic in nature of informatisation of higher education is significant, in particular, providing the system work of actors in education with the information-educational environment of a higher education institution.

Applying Kahoot in Thai Language and Culture Curriculum: Analysis of the Relationship among Online Cognitive Failure, Flow Experience, Gameplay Anxiety and Learning Performance

The benefits of game-based learning have been confirmed by many studies, and it has also been proven to be a method that can bring meaningful learning to learners. However, its application in Taiwan’s higher education stage is still infrequent, and only few related studies. Therefore, this study uses Kahoot with an interactive response system (IRS) mechanism as one of the curriculum teaching tools. The research adopted purposive sampling method. Participants were students from two universities in northern Taiwan who took Thai language and culture courses. The total number of valid participants was 103, including 25 males (29.8%) and 59 females (70.2%). This study was based on the theory of cognitive learning of multimedia learning, and the design of Kahoot’s game content. Based on the special CATLM and focus influence model, six research hypotheses were proposed to build a research model. The results showed that online cognitive failure was negatively correlated with gameplay flow; online cognitive failure was positively correlated with gameplay anxiety; gameplay flow was positively correlated with learning performance; gameplay anxiety was not correlated with learning performance; anxiety does not necessarily affect the effectiveness of game-based learning.

Factors Influencing Secondary School Student’s Performance Through Variable Decision Tree Data Mining Technique

Schools are considered as the backbone for long-term economic progress. No country can develop without increasing their education level. Despite the fact that the Portuguese population shows a brilliant development in their educational level from last decade, but still Portugal lies on the tail surrender of Europe in statistics because of excessive levels of student failure. Primarily, this costs a lot better in the middle of the elegance of Mathematics and Portuguese. On the other hand, the field of data mining (DM), the purpose of extracting the high-stage knowledge of raw statistics, automatic gear compelling offer to a useful source of training domain. This paper pursues to improve the overall performance of middle school students of Portugal through two variables decision tree, which is a favorable approach to data mining used for classification, prediction and factors explored with the help of their significance. Results shows that, provided the first and / or second interval school grades, awesome prediction accuracy can be achieved. Despite the success of students strongly influenced by father's job assistance; evaluation has clearly shown that there are also other elements (such as learning time, mother's occupation, the desire of higher education, the paid-classes and the travel time from home and school, etc.) are important elements which have great impact on the performance of students in secondary school education in Portugal. As a direct result of this study, through which specialize in these factors and create a kind of policy is mainly based on studies in the country width exceptional level of education may increase at the secondary level that produces goose bumps to the stage of higher education in Europe.

Convenience and Accuracy: The Dilemma and Exploration of the Work of Identifying Students With Family Economic Difficulties in Colleges and Universities of China

Students with family financial difficulties, premised on the family economic situation survey, are identified as the basic work of student-funded work in China's higher education stage, which is directly related to who is eligible for financial assistance. In this paper, through questionnaire survey and data analysis, in view of the evaluation of the work methods of students with family financial difficulties in China's higher education stage, and the change in the number of applications of students before and after the policy change, the results of the implementation of the method for identifying students with family financial difficulties in the higher education stage in China were studied before the recent introduction of the government's policy for the benefit of the people. After the implementation of the new policy, the changes and causes of the wishes and behaviors of college students’ application for poor students. The study found that: 1. The way local civil affairs departments reviewed students' family financial situation in the past did not fully guarantee the accurate and reliable results provided by students about family financial situation. 2. The removal of the local civil affairs department's seal requirement, replaced it as self-reported way, in the short term, did not cause a sharp increase in the number of application of college students to be identified as students with family financial difficulties. 3. The government needs to establish a unified quantitative calculation method, through the system online application way for students to apply directly, local grass-roots government sampling survey, colleges and universities to assist in the investigation of students' consumption in school, so that make the family financial difficulties students determination work both convenient and accurate.

Technology and Higher Education: A Bibliometric Analysis

Technology in education is one of the current realities that generates most interest. The objective of this research is to analyze the scientific production of educational technology in the higher education stage, within the Web of Science database. To carry out this study, a bibliometric study was conducted, which first established the keywords that would govern the rest of the research and continued with the analysis of different variables that addressed different features, from the origin of the archives to the authors or the most prolific and relevant institutions in the scientific community. The results indicate that there has been a significant increase in publications on this subject in recent years, and as evident from the current peak, this is a growing trend that will lead to more research in the coming years.

THE PROBLEMS OF SPECIALISTS TRAINING IN THE FIELD OF ECONOMIC SECURITY

The purpose of the article is to identify the problems inherent in the current stage of higher education in the field of economic security, on the basis of analysis and assessment of the state of personnel training for "Economic Security" specialty, and develop recommendations on the formation of an educational trajectory in the training of economic security professionals based on the principles of continuity education. When writing the article, both general scientific and special methods of scientific knowledge were used: scientific abstraction, dialectical, induction and deduction, analysis and synthesis, detailing and generalization, systemic, comparative, sociological. Identified the problems of training of the specialists in the field of economic security. The analysis and assessment of the state of training of the personnel in the field of economic security is supported by the results of an empirical study carried out using a standardized questionnaire survey of students studying in this specialty. This allowed us to assess their motivation in choosing a profession related to economic security, to identify the positive and negative components of the educational process and to justify the recommendations for the formation of an educational trajectory aimed at long life learning.

The Impact of the Implementation of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 on Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Public Universities

The study aimed at examining the impact of the implementation of the Saudi Vision 2030 (SAV) on teaching English as a foreign language at public universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. SAV relates to the educational development in public sectors in general and English as a foreign language teaching at higher education sectors in particular. The study used the descriptive approach design deploying a questionnaire survey that comprised 19 items divided into four sections. The sample of the study consisted of 250 male and 250 female English as a foreign language teachers at different Saudi public universities in varied region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The findings of the research showed that the statistical analysis of the participants’ responses showed that there is a high positive impact of VAS 2030 on the educational and professional development in Saudi Arabia in general and teaching English as a foreign language in particular. 90% of the participants indicated that there is statistically significant interrelation between the implementation of VAS 2030 and teaching EFL at higher education stage. Also, the findings of the study revealed that 90% of the participants demonstrated that the implementation of VAS 2030 will impact the development of the global image of teaching ELF in Saudi Arabia by becoming an attractive region for the spread of EFL in different sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In addition, the findings proposed that teaching EFL in the era of SAV 2030 will face many challenges and difficulties in terms of using high-tech teaching methods. This study recommends that further research be conducted in this field to support the findings of contemporary investigations. DYNAMIC AND COMPETENCE ASPECTS OF THE MEDIA EDUCATIONAL CONCEPT OF DEVELOPING A PERSON’S READINESS FOR LIFELONG SELF-EDUCATION

The harmonious existence of the individual in the modern informational era, which is overly saturated with rapidly developing media technologies, is almost impossible without the developed readiness of the individual for lifelong continuous self-education. The formation and development of this readiness can begin during the formal training at the stage of higher education of the person and continue during informal education throughout his future life. Stages of socialization and professionalization of the person have a great influence on the level nature of this readiness. Based on scientific achievements in the field of self-education of university students, national and world media education, we developed dynamic and competence models of media educational concept of developing a person’s readiness for lifelong self-education. The concept demonstrates interconnection of these two models, as well as consistency with the previously developed normative model of developing this readiness.

Психологические аспекты взаимосвязи механизмов сознания и индивидуализации обучения

The article covers the problem of the relationship of teacher’s consciousness and the individualization of learning. Special attention is paid to the historical aspects of the problem of individualization of education and its various interpretations in the works of researchers. It is shown that today the situation of social uncertainty, which requires a person to constantly choose a social position, action, way of achieving their goals, stands behind the problem of educational individualization. The professional consciousness of the teacher is considered as a form of life of the subject, providing a solution to professional problems in the process of teaching. Taking into account the relationship between consciousness and the individualization of learning, the authors show how this problem is resolved when the reflection and goal-setting mechanisms are included in the paradigm of joint activities between a teacher and a student, ensuring the development of professional and pedagogical consciousness at the stage of higher education. Thus, educational and professional activities and mechanisms for the development of consciousness of subjects of activity, conditioning each other, find their place in the context of solving problems of implementing the individualization of learning of the subject (child).

هدف البحث الحالی إلى التعرف على ما مستویات رضا طالبات جامعة الأمیر سطام بن عبد العزیز عن توافقهن الجسدی، ومستویات التوجه نحو المستقبل لدیهن، والکشف عن وجود علاقة ارتباطیة بین التوافق الجسدی والتوجه نحو المستقبل لدى طالبات جامعة الأمیر سطام بن عبد العزیز، واشتملت عینة البحث على (80) طالبة، واستخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفی التحلیلی والارتباطی کمنهج للدراسة، کما استعانت بمقیاسی (التوافق الجسدی – التوجه نحو المستقبل) کأدوات للدراسة، وقد توصل البحث للعدید من النتائج أهمها: أن مستویات رضا طالبات جامعة الأمیر سطام بن عبد العزیز عن توافقهن الجسدی جاءت بدرجة (متوسطة)، وأن مستویات توجه طالبات جامعة الأمیر سطام بن عبد العزیز نحو المستقبل جاءت بدرجة (متوسطة)، ووجود علاقة ارتباطیة موجبة بین الأبعاد والدرجة الکلیة لمقیاس التوافق الجسدی، مع مقیاس التوجه نحو المستقبل ، ولا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائیة فی آراء أفراد عینة البحث حول أبعاد مقیاس التوافق الجسدی ومقیاس التوجه نحو المستقبل ککل وفقا لمتغیرات (التخصص الدراسی – المستوى الدراسی)، وتوصی الباحثة بالعدید من التوصیات من أهمها: ضرورة زیادة نشر ثقافة التوجه الإیجابی نحو المستقبل بین فئات طلاب الجامعة؛ وذلک لضمان توافر جیل قادر على قیادة رشیدة فی المملکة، مع الارتقاء بها، ولضرورة تقدیم برامج غذائیة مناسبة من خلال وسائل الإعلام، والتواصل الاجتماعی بهدف تحسین صورة الجسم لدى الطالبات فی المراحل التعلیمیة العلیا. The present research to identify the satisfaction levels of female students in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University about their physical compatibility, and the levels of their orientation towards the future, and reveal the correlation between physical compatibility and orientation towards the future of the female students in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University. The study sample included (80) female students; the researcher used the The analytical and correlational approach as the study approach, and utilized the scales of (physical compatibility – orientation towards the future) as study tools. The study reached several results, the most important among which are: the satisfaction levels of female students in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University about their physical compatibility were (moderate); the levels of orientation towards the future female students in Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University about their physical compatibility were (moderate); There is a positive correlation between the dimensions and the total score of the Physical Compatibility Scale on one hand and those of the Future Orientation Scale on the other.; and there are no statistically significant differences in the opinion of the study sample about the dimensions of the physical compatibility scale and the orientation-towards-the-future scale according to the (physical compatibility – academic level) variables. The researcher proposes several recommendations, the most important among which are: the need to increased dissemination of the culture of positive orientation towards the future among university students to ensure a generation capable of leading and advancement of the Kingdom; and the need to provide proper nutritional programs in media and social media to improve the body image at female students in higher education stages.

ОСВІТНЄ ЧИТАННЯ ЯК ДЖЕРЕЛО ФОРМУВАННЯ У ПСИХОЛОГА КОМПЕТЕНЦІЙ РОЗУМІННЯ І ПРИЙНЯТТЯ «ІНШОГО»

The experimental study of students-psychologists’ educational reading is presented; its aim was to reveal the students’ ability to be open to understanding and to accept psychological ideas different from their own. The changes in the students’ personality-related perceptions in the process of their interaction with the educational text are described. The master students in psychological specialties are characterized by mainly ordinary ideas on psychological reality. They show two strategies of work with a scientific text: 1) focus on selection as many previously unknown words in the text as possible and memorizing them; 2) focus on selection of several key, systemic concepts and understanding of the text through their prism. The master’s students are characterized by prevailing orientation on understanding the information presented in the educational text. Students of the second stage of higher education show significant difficulties in reconstructing the psychological reality from the standpoint of a given psychological theory. They tend to attribute their own ideas to the text author, to ignore the author’s unique thinking and to use formally or fragmentarily the author’s conceptual apparatus. Instead of reconstructing an event, they offer characteristics or diagnoses. The students’ understanding of a position of the text author (“the Other”) leads most often only to insignificant changes in the student’s understanding of psychological reality. Such changes are revealed not so much in the qualitative transformation of the students’ picture of the world but in the enrichment of their ideas with new aspects of this picture. It is noted that at training of students in psychological specialties, special pedagogic activities are needed to form their philological competences in working with text.

Eficacia del Método Flipped Classroom en la Universidad: Meta-Análisis de la Producción Científica de Impacto

The peculiarity of the flipped classroom method lies in the change of learning roles, where the teacher acquires a secondary role as a guide and the student a primary role as an active agent. The trend of implementation in the stage of higher education is increasing and it is increasingly common to hear teaching experiences that revolve around its application in the classroom. Therefore, this paper aims to assess the effect of the flipped classroom methodology on the academic performance of university students from the studies indexed in the wos and Scopus databases. A methodology of meta-analysis studies has been followed, with the purpose of measuring the size of the global and particular effect of the researchers and empirically verifying the gain in favour of the experimental or control group. The results show that the difference between groups is statistically significant and most of the studies confirm the increase in academic performance in the experimental group. However, there is evidence of a possible bias in the articles published in favour of the flipped classroom method. Finally, the flipped classroom method is raised as a teaching methodology that can improve academic results and make it easier for students to self-regulate their learning.

Psychological Model of Development of Professional Axiological Orientations in Prospective Teachers at the Stage of Higher Education

The article defines the relevance of developing professional axiological orientations in prospective teachers and reviews the main research ideas on the topic. The aim of the article was to create a psychological model of development of professional axiological orientations of prospective teachers at the stage of higher education. The main methods of the study included theoretical analysis of the research literature on the topic of teachers’ axiological orientations, as well as the method modelling that included the creation of the model of development of professional axiological orientations of prospective teachers at the stage of higher education. The authors presented the model that included the following inter-connected blocks: developmental, processing and resulting blocks. The developmental block includes the content, psychological-pedagogic conditions and mechanisms of the prospective teachers’ professional axiological orientations development. The processing block defines the stages of the development. The resulting block includes the criteria and levels of the development. The content of the article reveals an opportunity for setting new goals in conducting professional axiological development of prospective teachers. Reaching these goals by integrating the international and national experience would help to efficiently organize the educational and mentoring process at the stage of higher education, which defines the future perspective of the study.

Student employment: social differentials and field-specific developments in higher education

In this article, we examine social origin differences in employment patterns across different stages of higher education and compare these differences between vocational and academic fields of study. Using data from a large-scale German student survey, we study the development of inequality, according to social origins, in student employment from first-year to graduating students. We show that inequality in job quality exists and is partly attributable to the need for students from lower social origins to work in order to finance their studies. We hypothesise that initial inequalities decrease as students progress through higher education. While we find evidence for this hypothesis, we also show in multivariate models that the reduction of inequality in the student labour market is explained by prior differences between social origin groups.

Video selection for development of foreign language competence based on implicit specializing of non-linguistic students

The article focuses on developing communicative foreign language competence in monologue production of non-linguistic students at the primary stage of higher education with video. The purpose of the research is to specify video selection criteria for integrated development of socio-cultural and professionally oriented communicative foreign language competence on the basis of audiovisual implicit specializing. The implementation of audiovisual implicit specializing requires: 1) availability of socio-cultural information about culture and language behaviour in different countries of the world with the primary focus on the country and the people of the target language; 2) presence of situational models of communication incorporating a number of lexical units of economic and tourist register in non-professional communication spheres in the video sequence;3) authenticity of academic and non-academic videos; 4) presentation of oral speech production and interaction patterns containing lengthy monologue utterances;5) audio and video correlation in the video sequence as well as correspondence with the first year students’ foreign language proficiency level and their thesaurus. To illustrate the listed criteria the article provides some scripts of video sequences to be used to develop socio-cultural and professionally oriented communicative foreign language competence of non-linguistic students at the primary stage of higher education

Architectural and spatial changing of university complexes and buildings in the reformation stage of higher education in Russia

The article investigates modern home tendencies of transformation of university complexes. This transformation is based on the carcass of interactions built in the structure of innovative activity and is a prerequisite of the development of the forming university clusters. The main prerequisites of transformations in architectural and spatial environment of universities against the background of the reforms in higher education in Russia are examined. A project experiment grounding the necessity of architectural and spatial changes of university buildings and complexes is described.

HIGHER EDUCATION EVALUATION: TRANSPARENCY,ACCOUNTABILITY AND COMPARABILITY

The paper presents a critique of evaluation in Higher Education in the light of transparency, accountability and comparability at Higher Education Stage. It is observed that prevalent fallacies in the evaluation process restrict the comparability of scores achieved by the degree-holders; in this, lack of correspondence in the instructional objectives, curricular modes of transaction, evaluation criteria and needs at the societal level come into picture. It is asserted that use of randomizers for appointment of examiners at the State/National Level is the need of the hour. Suggestion is made that innovations in examination process be carried out by C.B.C.S. and Universities and institutions of eminence be tried out at the higher education level; this may help break the tedium attending education processes at the higher education level.

Preparing Postbaccalaureates for Entry and Success in Biomedical PhD Programs.

Certain racial and ethnic groups, individuals with disabilities, and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds remain underrepresented (UR) in the biomedical sciences. This underrepresentation becomes more extreme at each higher education stage. To support UR scholars during the critical transition from baccalaureate to PhD, we established an intensive, 1-yr postbaccalaureate training program. We hypothesized that this intervention would strengthen each participant's competitiveness for leading PhD programs and build a foundation of skills and self-efficacy important for success during and after graduate school. Scholar critical analysis skills, lab technique knowledge, and Graduate Record Examination scores all improved significantly during the program. Scholars reported significant confidence growth in 21 of 24 categories related to success in research careers. In 5 yr, 91% (41/45) of scholars transitioned directly into PhD programs. Importantly, 40% (18/45) of participating postbaccalaureate scholars had previously been declined acceptance into graduate school; however, 17/18 of these scholars directly entered competitive PhD programs following our training program. Alumni reported they were "extremely well" prepared for graduate school, and 95% (39/41) are currently making progress to graduation with a PhD. In conclusion, we report a model for postbaccalaureate training that could be replicated to increase participation and success among UR scholars in the biomedical sciences.

THE FORMATION OF IT COMPETENCE OF THE ACADEMIC STAFF IN A THREE LEVEL SYSTEM OF HIGHER EDUCATION

The aim of the study is to discuss organizational and methodical bases of formation of ICT competence graduate in the third stage of higher education. Methods. Theoretical methods involve analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, comparison and classification methods, and empirical method of observation. Results. Trends in the selection of the content of the educational program of graduate students at the third level of higher education in the formation of IT competence are presented: education of the valuable relation to the use of IT in professional activities; the formation of readiness to use IT in education and scientific research; the development of IT skills for processing and visualization of experimental data; modeling of processes and phenomena of professional activities; preparation of the teaching staff to the creation of a new information and educational environment among educational organizations; the development of new social and educational role, forming a system of knowledge and skills of students in the field of information; the development of ready-to-use information technology in the management of education. The discipline content «Information and communication technologies in education and research activities» is selected in accordance with a preferred direction of formation of IT competence. Target indicators and indicators of graduates’ IT competences are developed. Scientific novelty. The concept of IT competence of the teaching staff is introduced. The model of discipline «Information and communication technologies in education and research activities» is designed on the basis of evolutionary development of ICT competence of graduate students in the two-level system of higher education content. Practical significance. The proposed content of the course «Information and communication technologies in education and research activities» which is the basis for the formation of IT competence of the teaching staff at the third level of higher education, allows to generate future teachers’ and researchers’ skills integration of different types of activity (training, educational research, educational, methodical, scientific research, organizational) within a unified methodology based on the use of IT.

Gender, family and academic careers in Turkey

Abstract Turkey has a remarkably high proportion of female full professors in its universities and in scientific fields (STEM) that are traditionally dominated by men in other countries. This could reflect a great deal of occupational gender equality but there has been a debate whether this equality came at the expense of family life. With the expansion of academia in the late 1990s and the erosion of childcare availability, whether institutional or familial, more recent cohorts of female academics may be paying a greater family penalty than their predecessors. We investigate these conjectures using the Turkish Academic Career Survey (TAC) – an original retrospective life-history study conducted in 2007 with a representative sample of around 4500 academics. We focus on the relationship between career progression and the family transitions of academics and analyze whether this relationship varies by scientific field and if professors advanced in rank during different stages of higher education's expansion in Turkey. We find a considerable gender gap in family formation outcomes of Turkish academics in all fields. Furthermore, we find that female academics that completed their PhDs after 1999 were not considerably at a higher risk of postponing parenthood compared to those who obtained their PhD's before the higher education expansion occurred.
