Pengelolaan Pariwisata Berkelanjutan Melalui Kampanye Pengurangan Sampah Plastik di Objek Wisata Pulau Bokori Sulawesi Tenggara

Sustainable Tourism Management Through a Campaign to Reduce Plastic Waste at the Bokori Island Tourist Destination in Southeast Sulawesi Tourism, as a rapidly growing economic sector, significantly contributes to national income. However, it also causes negative environmental impacts, particularly the increase in plastic waste at tourist destinations. Plastic waste not only damages the natural beauty but also threatens flora, fauna, and humans. The Community Service Program (PKM) by the Faculty of Social and Economic Sciences at the University of Sembilanbelas November Kolaka, in collaboration with PT. Palem Edukasi Nusantara, aims to address this issue by promoting plastic waste reduction at Pulau Bokori, Southeast Sulawesi. The program includes literature review, field observation, and awareness campaigns targeting both managers and visitors of the tourist site. Using a campaign approach through several stages—preparation, implementation, and evaluation—the main goal is to raise public and tourist awareness about the dangers of plastic waste. Despite positive feedback, resource limitations pose challenges, requiring further efforts and collaboration to achieve sustainable tourism and a cleaner environment on Pulau Bokori.

Assistance in Non-Profit Financial Statements at The Al-Qur'an Education Institution Through The Implementation of Isak 35

This service aims to analyze the assets of Al-Qur’an Education institutions in financial statements and to analyze achievements in non-profit financial statements based on Isak 35 on Al-Qur’an Education Institutions in Bojonegoro. The method used in this community service is Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD), with various stages, namely inculturation, discovery, design, definition, and reflection. The results of community service in the form of managing economic resources in the financial reports of Al-Qur'an Education (TPQ) play a crucial role in ensuring operational sustainability and improving the quality of educational services. By implementing ISAK 35 standards, TPQ can increase transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the use of funds, which in turn will strengthen the credibility of the institution and increase public and donor trust. The strategy of strengthening the performance of ISAK 35-based financial reports through the ABCD method also helps create synergy between management, society, and stakeholders to support the sustainability of TPQ. Strengthening these financial reports not only provides a solid foundation for TPQ in achieving educational goals but also increases transparency and accountability. This encourages public confidence to more actively support TPQ programs, both through direct participation and resource contributions, thereby strengthening the operational sustainability of the institution and providing a real positive impact on educational development and empowerment of the surrounding community.

Implementing the what I need (WIN) plan in a community forensic intellectual disability team

Purpose Government policy in the UK is emphasising a shift from inpatient to community-based management of those with intellectual disabilities and forensic needs. However, community services can be reluctant to accept patients deemed ready for discharge by inpatient forensic teams, and this leading to delayed discharges. An evidence-based discharge communication tool based on a comprehensive needs assessment is therefore required for patients with intellectual disabilities and forensic needs. Design/methodology/approach The purpose of this paper is to describe the development and implementation of the What I Need (WIN) plan in a Community Forensic Intellectual Disability Team. The WIN plan aims to create an effective discharge communication tool through carrying out a needs assessment based on the Camberwell Assessment of Need – Forensic Version (CANFOR). Findings The team and its stakeholders have observed several benefits following implementation of the WIN plan. The WIN is patient led and generates constructive dialogue around needs, risks and strengths between the patient, their family/carers and staff/clinicians. It is multidisciplinary, efficient to complete and collates information on individual patients’ current and historical forensic risks and needs in one document. Originality/value While delays in discharging in this population have been extensively studied, communication tools to support the process of discharge have received less focus. This paper describes the development and implementation of a discharge communication tool that incorporates risk management strategies for patients with intellectual disabilities and forensic needs.

Edukasi dan Pelatihan Pengelolaan Keuangan Digital untuk UMKM RT Mandiri dengan Aplikasi BukuWarung

This community service explains that many MSMEs have difficulty managing their finances due to limited knowledge and the use of traditional methods, so it is urgent to improve their digital skills. This community service aims to educate and train MSMEs in Sumorame Village regarding digital-based financial management with the BukuWarung application. The methods used include counselling and direct training to help participants understand how to use the application, including recording transactions and making financial reports. The results showed a positive response from MSMEs, who felt that they helped increase the efficiency of their financial management. This activity offers an effective practical approach to support MSMEs in adapting to the digital era. The impact of this activity is increasing the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in facing increasingly complex market competition.

Inovasi Pengabdian Masyarakat melalui Pemberdayaan Keterampilan dan Pelestarian Lingkungan yang Berkelanjutan

Environmental preservation and community skills empowerment are the focus of addressing local community development needs. This community service aims to apply knowledge through practical training to improve community welfare, especially in RT 03/RW 07 Griya Asri Housing, Kalitengah Village. The methods used include macrame training, e-commerce socialisation, composting, and installation of administrative maps. The results show that active community participation impacts the activity's success, including improving community skills and environmental management. The focus of this activity lies in the combination of digital technology and environmental preservation in a series of activities. This approach offers a collaboration-based community empowerment model that is relevant to be applied in similar communities.

Realizing Quality Health Services through Ergonomic Re-Design of the Medical Records Room at the Kedungkandang Community Health Center

This community service activity aims to redesign the medical records room at the Kedungkandang Community Health Center by applying ergonomic principles. The main goal of this redesign is to improve the quality of health services by creating a more comfortable and efficient work environment for medical records staff, as well as improving service flow to reduce patient waiting times. The methods used include in-depth interviews with staff, direct observation in the medical records room, and needs analysis based on ergonomic principles. Based on the data collected, various problems were found, such as non-optimal layout and inefficient equipment placement. The result of this activity was a new, more ergonomic design, which included reorganizing the registration counter, improving lighting, and improving ventilation. Although this design has not yet been implemented, the results of the service are expected to increase staff work efficiency and patient satisfaction after implementation. It is also hoped that this design can become a model for other health centers to improve the quality of health services.

Optimalisasi Daya Saing UMKM Melalui Strategi Personal Branding di Era Digital

This community service program focuses on improving the competitiveness of MSMEs in RT 40 Magersari, which faces the problem of minimal branding due to the lack of business logos, which hinders product marketing. This activity aims to strengthen the brand identity of MSMEs through logo design and plaque-making to increase their market presence. The methods include field observation, MSME data collection, logo design, and banner plaque making. The results show that the logo and plaque have succeeded in increasing visibility, sales, and consumer trust in local MSME products. The novelty of this program is the personal branding-based approach for home-based MSMEs in local communities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of branding strategies as a primary tool to support competitiveness and community-based economic growth.

Viewpoint: from Star Trek to “Service Trek”: these are the voyages of the service community

PurposeScience fiction analogies have been shown to be an effective vehicle for disseminating scientific knowledge and building a better understanding of scientific principles. Toward this end, this study aims to use the Star Trek universe as a lens in an effort to remove barriers to understanding the science of service research.Design/methodology/approachThis study synthesizes research on using science fiction narratives in sparking dialogue within and beyond scientific communities, draws parallels between the Star Trek universe and the service research domain and uses these insights to identify pertinent ways forward.FindingsIn the service research domain, science fiction analogies and dramaturgical metaphors can challenge researchers to reflect beyond the domain’s traditional boundaries. In fact, the Star Trek universe lends itself as visionary backdrop to assess leadership principles, understand the evolution of scientific paradigms and inspire future service research.Originality/valueThis article contributes to the service research literature by introducing the notion of drawing on science fiction analogies to facilitate key dialogues in a scientific context and demonstrates how such analogies can be used to provide guidance in moving the service research discipline forward.

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN YOGA EXERCISE AND MOTHER'S WEIGHT GAIN DURING PREGNANCY AT PMB RUFINA SURAKARTA

Pregnant women are people who really need attention, where this attention is needed to look after small creatures who are a gift from Allah SWT. During this period, pregnant women experience many changes. Physical and psychological changes. Physical changes include the increase in body composition of pregnant women due to the presence of the fetus and hormonal changes, so the mother's weight also increases during pregnancy. This activity aims to provide community service to empower pregnant women to reduce anxiety levels through yoga. . The method used is Participatory Action Research where community service aims to provide learning in overcoming problems. This is done by practicing together with pregnant women and detecting the anxiety level of pregnant women through questionnaires. Community service implementation was carried out in Grogol Village in April-May 2024 for 28 pregnant women with a decrease in anxiety in pregnant women after giving Yoga. The results of community service by providing yoga to pregnant women showed an anxiety score from an average of 32.68 to 12.07

Community Health Workers in Nepal: A Systematic Review of Their Role in Health System Strengthening

Community Health Workers are vital in strengthening Nepal's healthcare system, particularly in underserved rural and remote regions, significantly reducing mortality rates and achieving national health goals. The paper aims to systematically evaluate the literature on CHWs' role in health system strengthening in Nepal, examining their characteristics, impact, motivations, and challenges. A mixed-method systematic review was conducted using PubMed, Research4life, and Google Scholar databases. Eight studies (5 qualitative, 1 quantitative, and 2 mixed methods) were analyzed using the Mixed Method Appraisal Tool 2018 and thematic analysis. Five major themes emerged: (1) Socio-demographic characteristics - CHWs are predominantly female volunteers with varying educational backgrounds; (2) Evolving roles - expanding beyond traditional maternal and child health to include non-communicable diseases; (3) Motivation factors - driven by community service and professional development opportunities; (4) System integration - serving as crucial intermediaries between communities and healthcare facilities; and (5) Implementation challenges - including limited resources, insufficient training, and inadequate incentives. While CHWs are essential to Nepal's healthcare system, particularly in delivering culturally competent primary health services, there is a critical need for sustainable support mechanisms. Enhanced capacity-building initiatives, improved supervision systems, and appropriate incentives are necessary to retain experienced CHWs and maximize their impact. Investment in CHW programmes is crucial for strengthening Nepal's health system and achieving better community health outcomes, especially in rural areas.

PENGEMBANGAN PLATFORM KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT DAN E-COMMERCE UNTUK PEMBERDAYAAN DESA

The Association of Village Integrator Lecturers (ADIDES) was formed in response to the strong desire of academics (lecturers) to increase village capacity in serving their communities. The development of a digital platform in the form of the ADIDES website (adides.or.id) aims to increase academic collaboration and village economic empowerment through knowledge management and e-commerce. The background to this activity is the limited access of villages to intellectual resources, most of which are owned by universities. This community Service activity was carried out intensively both online and offline in the first half of 2024. The fostered partners involved were ADIDES member-fostered villages in Surabaya and Sidoarjo. The results of the implementation of the activity showed that the ADIDES website succeeded in facilitating the storage and sharing of knowledge, strengthening academic collaboration, and supporting the marketing of village products through e-commerce features. The level of participation and user satisfaction showed the effectiveness of this platform in supporting community service activities. This shows that the ADIDES website is able to increase connectivity between the academic world and villages, although there are still challenges, such as limited internet access in some villages.

Inovasi Olahan Ikan Tuna menjadi Bakso Ikan bagi Pelaku Usaha Kuliner di Pariwisata Pantai Desa Botutunuo

Gorontalo as a province that includes the Tomini Bay area, makes this area have residents who use the sea as a livelihood. Botutunuo Village as one of the nine villages located in Kabila Bone sub-district, Bone Bolango Regency, has its own attraction as a village located on the coast of the Tomini Bay area. Not only as fishermen, many culinary business actors use this coastal area as a place for beach tourism businesses. The service team saw the great potential of marine products obtained by fishermen, one of which was tuna. This community service aims to increase the income of culinary business actors, namely MSMEs who have stalls around the tourist area of Botutunuo village and share the knowledge of the service team in processing tuna into fish balls. The enthusiasm of culinary business actors in Botutunuo Village is illustrated by the attraction of the participants in listening and seeing the direct practices demonstrated by the service team. The results of this service are expected to be able to encourage increasing the income of fishermen and MSME culinary business actors in Botutunuo village to sell their goods to tourists who visit coastal tourist sites and help improve the welfare of the village community to increase their economic income.

Grassroots-Based Waste Management: Implementation of Financial Management

The implementation of this Community Service (PKM) activity is a form of attention and participation of academics related to critical issues of waste management with the theme of Grasp-Based Waste Management: Implementation of Financial Management. The goal is an effort to help increase awareness, participation and cooperation in dealing with the waste problem, with theaim of recreating high awareness to participate and cooperate in the implementation method of activities, adapting the observation approach, socialization at the implementation and evaluation stages. Results of the activity. This KKM activity offers three main activities. First, socialization of grassroots-based waste handling; Second, a healthy living culture by paying attention to shopping and consumption behavior; Third, the implementation of Financial Management with economic behavior. The implication is that in the future, similar follow-up activities are needed to support the realization of zero waste and zero residue programs for clean and waste-free living by applying a scientific approach in the implementation of financial management at the individual family level, accompanied by adapting and integrating technology that allows the involvement of various related parties in a continuous manner in waste management among the community.

Public Policy for Human Capital: Fostering Sustainable Equity in Disadvantaged Communities

This study presents new empirical findings on the multidimensional barriers that disadvantaged communities must overcome to equitably access quality education and health services. Equitable access to education and health services in disadvantaged communities requires comprehensive public policies that address multidimensional barriers. Through an innovative econometric analysis of primary data collected in 50 rural communities, the most influential factors hindering access to these basic services are identified. This article discusses the most effective public policy strategies for improving access to and the quality of education and health services in disadvantaged communities, and outlines how to implement them sustainably and equitably. The results reveal that a lack of adequate infrastructure, a shortage of qualified personnel, and socioeconomic and cultural barriers are the main obstacles. Based on these findings, a new comprehensive intervention model is proposed, which simultaneously addresses these interconnected barriers. These strategies contribute directly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 4 (Quality Education), by addressing critical barriers to equitable access to essential health and education services in marginalized communities. These strategies are based on theories that highlight the importance of investing in education and health for human and economic development, and support the fact that investments in these sectors boost productivity, income, well-being, and equity. The study concludes with practical and applicable recommendations for public policymakers, emphasizing the importance of adapting them to the local context and ensuring the active participation of the beneficiary communities.

PEMBERDAYAAN EKONOMI KELUARGA: WORKSHOP MANAJEMEN KEUANGAN BERSAMA PKK DESA MAYONG LOR JEPARA

Good financial management within families is essential for improving community welfare, especially at the village level. This community service program aimed to empower families economically through a financial management workshop conducted in collaboration with the Women’s Family Welfare Program (PKK) of Mayong Lor Village, Jepara. The program involved 30 active PKK members and employed structured training methods coupled with continuous mentoring. Data collection was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests, observations, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation over a three-month period.The results of the program demonstrated a 65% increase in participants’ financial literacy, with 85% of participants routinely maintaining financial records. Behavioral changes in financial management were indicated by 75% of participants establishing regular savings, 60% successfully separating business and household finances, and 45% beginning to invest. This community service initiative has proven that a community-based economic empowerment model, integrating financial literacy, business development, and strengthening local capacities, is effective in improving family welfare at the village level.

Improving The Creative Economy Through Training in Making Aloe Vera Dish Liquid Soap with Participatory Rural Appraisal Method

This community service program is carried out to improve skills for the women of the Bekasi Ta'lim Bakormata Council as a training program for making liquid dish soap to enhance the community's creative economy in increasing family needs. This method of service uses Participatory Rural Appraisal. The training participants of the partner group amounted to 50 people. The implementation is carried out in stages, with lecture methods, direct practice, and mentoring, which takes 3 months. The results of this program showed a significant increase in the enthusiasm of participants in the training by 45% succeeded in showing excellent results, the activity was carried out in groups, then it could be used as a home business, as evidenced by the sales of 500 bottles, with a unit price of Rp.10,000, per bottle. This training has also succeeded in encouraging local economic diversification, improving welfare, and strengthening the creative economy's potential at the Ta'lim Bakormata Assembly. This program can be a model adopted by other assemblies in the surrounding community.

PENGABDIAN MASYARAKAT: PELATIHAN PENGGUNAAN MICROSOFT WORD PADA SISWA/I SD GMIT BELEMANA DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN LITERASI DIGITAL

This community service activity aims to enhance digital literacy among SD GMIT Belemana students through Microsoft Word training. The training covers the basics of typing, text formatting, inserting images, and saving documents. The method used is a hands-on approach emphasizing active student participation. The results show a significant improvement in students' ability to create simple documents, which is expected to support their learning in the digital era.

Teacher Empowerment Through The Toping Method in Visiting Teacher Activities to Improve Pedagogic Competence

The quality of education in border areas, such as the Timor Tengah Utara (TTU) Regency, often faces challenges in improving teacher competencies. This community service program aims to empower teachers through the Gasing method (Easy, Fun, and Enjoyable) as part of the Visiting Teacher program. This method was chosen because it is effective in helping teachers improve their pedagogical competence. The program involved teacher working groups (KKG) and subject teacher working groups (MGMP) in TTU over three days, from September 26 to 28, 2024. Training and hands-on practice sessions were conducted to equip teachers with the skills to apply the Gasing method in their teaching. The analysis results showed a significant improvement in the teachers' average understanding, rising from 55.8 before the training to 87.07 afterward. Additionally, observations recorded high levels of participant engagement. Question-asking activities reached 88%, the ability to answer facilitators' questions was 92%, group discussions demonstrated 84% engagement, and the active application of new Gasing techniques reached 96%. Overall, 90% of the teachers displayed excellent engagement across various aspects, reflecting the program's effectiveness. This initiative not only improved teachers' understanding but also fostered a more enjoyable and effective learning environment. The implementation of the Gasing method holds significant potential to enhance teaching quality, not only in TTU but also in other regions with similar characteristics, contributing to the advancement of education

Strategi Peranan Mahasiswa dalam Meningkatkan Optimalisasi RT Sehat untuk Kesehatan Lingkungan

This community service discusses the role of UNUSIDA academics in supporting the RT Sehat program in Tebel Village RT 07 RW 03 to improve environmental health and public awareness of healthy lifestyles. Through a participatory approach, students conducted surveys, interviews, and direct observations. They carried out activities such as morning exercise, hydroponic education, utilization of medicinal plants, and processing of used cooking oil. As a result, there was an increase in community participation in maintaining environmental cleanliness and sustainably implementing healthy lifestyles. The uniqueness of this program lies in integrating innovations such as hydroponics for narrow land and cross-faculty student collaboration. These findings show the potential for cooperation between higher education institutions and the community as a model for developing community-based programs in the future.

Penerapan Mind Mapping dalam Pembelajran Writing Bahasa Inggris di MTs. Alwashliyah

This community service program aimed to enhance the writing skills of students at Mts. Alwashliyah by applying the mind mapping technique. The primary objective was to assist students in organizing their thoughts and generating structured written content. The method involved a series of workshops, practical sessions, and evaluations. The students were first introduced to the concept of mind mapping, followed by hands-on practice sessions to apply the technique in their writing exercises. The program utilized pre-tests and post-tests to assess the effectiveness of the intervention. The results showed a significant improvement in students' writing performance. After implementing mind mapping, students demonstrated better organization, richer vocabulary, and enhanced creativity in their written texts. The post-test scores increased by an average of 20% compared to the pre-test results, indicating a positive impact of the technique on their writing abilities. In conclusion, mind mapping proved to be an effective strategy for improving students' writing skills by helping them systematically organize their ideas. This technique not only enhanced their writing competence but also boosted their confidence in expressing themselves. The program’s success highlights the potential for broader application in other educational settings to support English language learning.
