Praktikalitas Aplikasi Media Pembelajaran Berbasis Augmented Reality pada Mata Pelajaran Perawatan Wajah, Badan (Body Massage) dan Waxing

This study aims to determine the practicality of designing and developing Android-based learning media applications for facial, body massage and waxing subjects at SMK N 7 Padang in the 2022/2023 school year. This research uses research and development methods (Research & Development). The research subjects were 78 students of SMK Negeri 7 Padang. This research method uses analysis (ADDIE), with the design and development steps as follows. (1) Analyze, (2) Design, (3) Development, (4) Implementation, and (5) Evaluate. The results of the practicality test assessment as a whole the practicality assessment of the Android-Based Learning Media Application in the subject of Facial, Body Massage and Waxing Class XI Beauty Department at SMK Negeri 7 Padang is 94.44%, so that the level of practicality can be interpreted as very practical to use. In conclusion, based on assessments along with expert input as well as from the results of field trials of the Android-Based Learning Media Application as a learning medium, it has been tested for feasibility, superiority, and used in the learning process in the subject of Face Care, Body (Body Massage) and Waxing for Class XI Beauty Department at SMK Negeri 7 Padang.

DEVELOPMENT OF A CARTESIAN COORDINATE MODULE TO IMPROVE THE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND MATHEMATICAL CONCEPTS

Mathematics is very important in everyday life, because human mathematics can think logically and argue. Many students think that mathematics is learning that is not fun and results in students being less able to understand mathematical concepts so that the level of student learning decreases, plus the source material presented is lacking. So that researchers conduct research on module development that can support students in learning mathematics and improve students' abilities in understanding concepts. This study aims to develop a module that refers to increasing the ability to understand mathematical concepts, with the material presented is Cartesian coordinate material. The module development procedure in this study is the 4-D development model. Data collection techniques used are student learning outcomes tests and questionnaires. The instruments used were validation sheets, student response questionnaires and pretest-posttest validation sheets. Based on the validity test, the results of the research show that the Cartesian coordinate module is very valid with a validity level of 86.4%. The results of the practicality test in the limited trial with a total of 16 students obtained a very practical Cartesian coordinate module with a percentage of 90.3%, and a field trial with a total of 22 students obtained a very practical Cartesian coordinate module with a practicality level percentage of 85.2%. . The module has met the effectiveness criteria based on the results of limited trials with the acquisition of a learning completeness score of 0.60 in the medium category, the results of field trials with the acquisition of a learning completeness score of 0.73 in the high category. This shows that the developed module is valid, practical and effective. The researcher hopes that this module can be used in learning, especially Cartesian coordinate material to improve students' conceptual understanding abilities.

Reliability analysis based on load spectrum: A structural improvement of Indian Railways three-piece freight bogie elastomeric pad

Dynamic characteristics and reliability of elastomeric pads are dominant components in the design methodology to satisfy the performance parameters under dynamic operations. The fatigue life of rubber pads fitted with elastomeric pads mainly depends upon elastomers; natural rubber, chloroprene, nitrile butadiene, silicon compounds, etc., additives, accelerators, activators, fillers, anti-degradants, and manufacturing processes. The performance of the elastomeric pad is evaluated based on service operation, simulation, and laboratory testing. New and failed elastomeric (EM) pads have been examined in the Indian Rubber Manufacturer’s Research Association IRMRA laboratory for detailed failure analysis of existing EM pads. Further, chemical and physical properties are also evaluated in M&C (Metallurgical and Chemical) and Testing Directorate of Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO), labs respectively. The fatigue life of the EM pad is estimated based on the results extracted from the Finite Element (FE) analysis of the EM pad. An attempt is made to modify the design of the EM pad by considering the results of detailed field trials, lab testing, and FE analysis. The modified design satisfies the dynamic characteristic during FE (Structural and Thermal) analysis and lab testing.

BIOLOGICAL CONTROL OF RASPBERRY SPUR BLIGHT CAUSED BY <i> DIDYMELLA APPLANATA </i> USING A MIXTURE OF MICROBIAL AGENTS

The article presents the results of three-year field trials of the mixed experimental bio preparation Phytop 26.82, consisting of the bacteria Bacillus amyloliquefaciens RCIM (All-Russian Collection of Industrial Microorganisms) B 10642, Bacillus licheniformis RCIM (All-Russian Collection of Industrial Microorganisms) B 10562, Bacillus subtilis RCIM (All-Russian Collection of Industrial Microorganisms) Microorganisms) B 10641, nematophagous fungi Arthrobotrys oligospora RCIM (All-Russian Collection of Industrial Microorganisms) F-1141 and Duddingtonia flagrans VKM F-2574, as well as the entomopathogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana, against the central raspberry disease - purple spot in the production plantations of the culture. The concentration of the mixture was 105 CFU/ml. As a comparison, we used the chemical fungicide Topaz, EC (emulsion concentrate) at 0.1% concentration. Previously, the authors evaluated the effect of this microbial mixture on the pathogen Didymella applanata in laboratory conditions, which was the basis of field trials. It was found that when one-year-old raspberry shoots were affected by purple spotting, the treatment of vegetative plants reduced the development of the disease by almost three times for more than a month after applying the microbial mixture. Furthermore, the prevalence of the disease decreased by two times or more relative to the control. The biological efficiency of the experimental bio preparation Phytop 26.82 reached 72.7%, comparable to the Topaz chemical fungicide. This mixed microbiological preparation is promising as an environmentally friendly means of protecting raspberries from purple spotting while suppressing other potential diseases and pests on this crop and reducing the undesirable influence of abiotic environmental factors.

The Practicality of Developing a Multi-Split Model Based on the Hands-on-Mind Approach as a Reconstruction of Basic Literacy and Character Values

West Kalimantan is a province in Indonesia with the longest border with foreign countries. Therefore, education in these areas must be paid close attention to so that students can obtain optimal learning competency results and master basic literacy and character values as catalysts for understanding, awareness, and attitudes toward the pillars of national and state life. This study aims to determine the practicality of developing a multi-split model based on the hands-on-mind approach that can be used to reconstruct basic literacy and character values in the border areas of West Kalimantan and Malaysia during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used was research and development (R&D). The source of the data in this study was obtained from the results of field trials; thus, the practicality of developing a multi-split model based on the hands-on-mind approach observed by two teachers could be seen. The results of the practicality analysis showed that (1) the implementation of learning using a multi-split model based on a hands-on-mind approach reached an average score of 3.23 with good criteria, (2) student activities got an average score for each activity of at least 3.16 with good criteria and (3) the obstacles experienced by students were not familiar with the pattern of the learning process using this model; consequently several student activities could not run optimally.

PENGEMBANGAN MODEL PROJECT BASET LEARNING UNTUK MENSTIMULASI KEMAMPUAN BERPIKIR TINGKAT (HOTS) ANAK USIA DINI USIA 5-6 TAHUN

Problems with the learning model used in schools, where the learning model used is the conventional learning model which is still teacher center in nature and in learning it still uses children's worksheets (LKA) without concrete objects so learning is not yet high level thinking skills (HOTS) early childhood aged 5-6 years. The type of research used is Research and Development which adapts the Borg & Gall model with 10 steps which are simplified into 5 steps, namely conducting preliminary research, developing initial products, conducting product validations, conducting trials, products. The limited trial subjects involved group B teachers at Pembina State Kindergarten 2, Jambi City, namely 4 teachers and Independent Kindergarten, Jambi City, namely 1 teacher. Research and development data were obtained from several sources, namely: material expert validation questionnaire, media expert validation questionnaire. Product feasibility is obtained from the results of limited field trials. The results of research conducted by material experts at the final stage obtained a percentage of 100% with the category very feasible to try out. The results of the assessment were obtained from media experts at the final stage obtaining a percentage of 96.15%. The level of validity of the project based learning model to stimulate higher order thinking skills (HOTS) for early childhood aged 5-6 years from teacher respondents as product users scored a percentage of 87.5% in the very decent category. The conclusion of this research is that the Project Based Learning Model to Stimulate Higher Order Thinking Ability (HOTS) for Early Childhood Children Aged 5-6 Years is very feasible and can be tested.

Design and Optimization of an Umbrella-Type Shield Based on 3D CFD Simulation Technology

Mechanical shields can effectively alleviate the problems of low pesticide utilization and severe environmental pollution. This manuscript uses a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method to investigate the anti-drift mechanism of mechanical shields, study the airflow forms around them, and establish an accurate simulation model. The aerodynamic characteristics of six shields were studied, and their anti-drift effect was compared. Then, the size and working parameters were optimized using the response surface methodology (RSM). Mechanical shields can significantly improve the fog droplet deposition rate (DR) compared with the conventional spray method (no shield), among which the umbrella-type shield has the best effect; optimizing the size and selecting suitable working parameters can increase the DR to 77.31 %. The field trial showed that the DR of the conventional spray method was reduced by 31.9 % at 5 m/s compared with 3 m/s, while the DR of the shield spray method was reduced by only 3.6 % at 5 m/s compared with 3 m/s, which proved the excellent performance of the mechanical shields. The field trial results were consistent with the CFD simulation, and the relative deviation of the DR between the two was within 4 %, so the accuracy and reliability of the CFD simulation model were proved.

PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA MODEL ROUND TABLE BERBASIS PENDEKATAN SAINTIFIK BERKAITAN DENGAN TINGKAT KECEMASAN PESERTA DIDIK

This research aims to produce a round table model mathematics learning design based on a scientific approach related to students' anxiety levels that is valid, practical and effective. This research refers to the Borg and Gall development model, the research stages start from research and data collection, planning, initial product design development, revision of initial field trial results, field trials. The research subjects were class X students at SMK Muhammadiyah 3 Metro in semester 2 of the 2022/2023 academic year. Research data was obtained through observation, interviews, questionnaires and questionnaires on students' mathematics anxiety levels. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistics and t-test. The results of the research show that the round table model learning design based on a scientific approach to sequence and series material meets the criteria for validity and practical use and is included in the very good category. Furthermore, the average N-Gain score for students' mathematics anxiety level after using a round table model based on a scientific approach is lower than the average N-Gain score for students' mathematics anxiety level who did not use a round table model based on a scientific approach. The use of a round table model based on a scientific approach is effective in reducing students' mathematics anxiety levels.

Development of A Montessori Book to Improve the Early Reading Skills for Elementary School Students

This study aims to (1) produce Montessori reading books and (2) reveal the effectiveness of Montessori reading books in learning to improve the reading skills of first-grade elementary school students. This research is research and development (RnD). The research subjects were students and teachers of grade 1 elementary school. Data was obtained through interviews and observation. The products developed are validated by experts, and initial reading skills are carried out to obtain the effectiveness of the book. Product effectiveness is tested through quasi-experiments. Data analysis techniques used an independent sample t-test with a significant level of 0.05. The results of this study are in the form of Montessori reading books. (1) The results of the expert validation assessment show that the books developed are appropriate according to material experts in the "very good" category, media experts in the "good" category, and linguists in the "very good" category. Teacher and student responses to Montessori books in learning are categorized as "very good". (2). The results of the effectiveness test indicated that the book was effective in improving beginning reading skills. Based on the results of operational field trials, the value of p 0.05 means that there is a significant difference in students who carry out the learning process using Montessori books.

Development Of Practicum Learning Models Assisted with Practice Guide Videos

This study aims to develop a practicum learning model assisted by a practicum guide video. The research method used is research and development using the Dick and Carey Educational Research and Development Step System Approach Model and the Bergman and Moore model. The results of the expert one-to-one evaluation, namely material experts, learning design, instructional media and language stated that the practicum model of learning assisted by the practicum guide video was feasible to use. One-to-one student is done by selecting three students whose results are feasible to use. The results of the small group evaluation with an average score of 4.58 for nine students are in the very good category, which can be interpreted as feasible to use; the results of field trials conducted on 30 students obtained 4.57 which can be interpreted as very good. Based on the findings, it can be stated that developing practicum learning model with the use of a practical guide video is feasible and may successfully improve students' knowledge and practice results while meeting the KKNI level 9 requirements.

Field evaluation of biomass gasifier for bioenergy application: Case studies on institutional cooking in India

Gasification of waste biomass can offer a cleaner and renewable alternative to wood and fossil fuel-based cooking systems. However, field evaluations of biomass gasifiers for institutional cooking are rarely reported in the scientific literature. This study was aimed to develop a fuel-efficient gasifier system for institutional cooking in the Indian context. We conducted field experiments in both rural and urban settings using collaborative approaches. The results demonstrated significant improvements in gasifier-based cooking including up to a 25% reduction in cooking time, about 28% lower fuel consumption, and 82% less fine particulate matter emissions, within the permissible limits, when compared to cooking via traditional chulha (clay stove). Through collaborative design with users, the gasifier system underwent further modifications to achieve a substantial reduction in cooking time (around 25–30%) across various testing scenarios. Furthermore, the gasifier system was successfully demonstrated to supplement a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG)-based cooking system, and the latter showed around 25% faster cooking performance and a 12.5% lower energy input. Practical problems encountered during biomass gasifier field trials were documented and analyzed, along with a project SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analysis. The results of gasifier field trials imply significant potential when compared to the traditional cooking in a rural setting. Overall, the proposed gasifier system could serve as a sustainable technology alternative for bioenergy applications in the developing world.

Pengembangan Media Puzzle Sugaka pada Pembelajaran Tematik Siswa Kelas II Sekolah Dasar

This study aims to determine the development of sugaka puzzle media for thematic learning for second grade students at SD Negeri 03 Sungai Raya. The research model used is development based on R&D (research and development). The validation results from all experts show that the development of puzzle media in thematic learning meets the valid criteria with the acquisition of a 100% proportion. The results of large-scale field trials with the acquisition of student responses to the Sugaka puzzle media obtained 93% results. Assessment of activity sheet 1 large-scale field test results obtained 98%. The posttest results obtained for all students scored (> 80), then the average score of all students was obtained on the posttest results of the initial field trials of students, namely 93 or "Very Good".

Sensitivity of Yponomeuta padella and Yponomeuta cagnagella (Lepidoptera: Yponomeutidae) to a Native Strain of Steinernema feltiae (Filipjev, 1934)

The larvae of ermine moths from the Yponomeutidae family (Lepidoptera) feed on a range of species and varieties of fruit and ornamental trees. Some species of this family pose a serious threat to the environment, mainly because of the significant defoliation they cause but also due to the widespread use of insecticides used to control them. This study was designed to assess the sensitivity of Yponomeuta padella and Yponomeuta cagnagella larvae and pupae to a native strain of Steinernema feltiae ZAG15 nematodes under laboratory conditions and to test the biological activity of these nematodes against the larvae and pupae of these species in field studies. The following doses were used in the laboratory tests: 50 IJs/insect (Petri dish tests) and 100 IJs/insect (container tests). Petri dish and container tests were performed at 20 °C and 60% humidity. Mortality of two stages (larvae and pupae) was determined 3 days after treatment. In the field trials, the nematodes were applied at the following doses: 4000 IJs/web for the caterpillars of Y. padella and Y. cagnagella and 1000 IJs/web for the pupae of Y. padella and Y. cagnagella (this corresponded to approximately 200 IJs/insect). Nematodes were applied using a 1 L hand sprayer and a lance. The efficacy of the application was assessed after seven days. The results of our study showed that the larvae (81.7%) and pupae (88.3%) of Y. padella had a greater susceptibility to entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) than those of Y. cagnagella (50% and 33.3%, respectively). However, our promising laboratory results did not translate into results in field trials, where the application of EPNs proved to be ineffective.

Development of Science Teaching Modules in Class IV Elementary School Independence Curriculum

Research on the development of science teaching modules and data processing is designed to be more practical, effective, and easy to understand for fourth grade elementary school students using the ADDIE model development method. The types of data in this study were: content validation, design validation, student and teacher response questionnaires, and written tests of learning outcomes. The analysis technique uses descriptive analysis then the data is processed by being converted using a predetermined formula. The results of content validation from experts after being converted to the achievement level table obtained 89.09%. The design validation results from experts after being converted with the achievement level table obtained 86.49%. The results of field trials after being converted with the achievement level table obtained 91.81%. While the written test results obtained completeness of 29 children with a percentage of 90.625% of 32 children. From the data and analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that the results of the development of the IPAS teaching module for grade IV Semester II Elementary Schools can be used as a teaching module

The Impact of Elementary School Number Learning Module Based on Team-Based Project on Critical Thinking Ability

Critical thinking is needed to seek new ideas and discoveries to solve complex life problems in the 21st century. One effort to meet these needs is to use a supportive learning model based on a team-based project. The model is directed to be able to influence the way of thinking of students who are more critical. However, the implementation of this learning has not been supported by mature learning tools, the modules that are currently owned still have some limitations because they were made at the beginning of the program implementation period and of course during that period certain conditions were found in the field that required adjustments and refinements to fit the context. problems encountered in the field. This research is a Research and Development study that uses the development steps developed by Borg and Gall including: 1) Needs Analysis; 2) Teaching Material Development Planning; 3) Design validation; 4) Product trials in small groups; 5) Product revision; and 6) Product trials on large groups. The data and data sources used are: (1) expert assessment data, (2) trial results data on small groups and (3) test results data on large groups. The implementation of this research was in the Tadulako University PGSD study program and the test subjects were students of the 2019/2010 class. The results of the research that has been carried out are the Team-Based Project-Based SD Numbers Learning Module on the Critical Thinking Ability of PGSD Study Program Students based on the results of validation from material experts and media experts as well as from the results of initial field trials and the results of the main field trials it can be concluded that the numbers learning module SD based Team Based Project for PGSD students is said to be Valid and practical so that this module is feasible to use.

Development of Assessment Instruments in Project-Based Learning to Measure Students Scientific and Numeracy Literacy Ability on Harmonic Vibration Materials

This study aims to develop an assessment instrument in project-based learning to measure Students scientific literacy and numeracy skills on valid, reliable and practical harmonic vibration material. The development design uses the Research and Development method with 7 development steps adapting from Borg & Gall (1989) which includes the research and data collection stages, planning, initial product development, initial field trials, revision of test results, field trials, and product revisions. operational. Product validation was carried out by two expert lecturers and one teacher to assess aspects of construction, substance and language, the results of expert validation of the assessment instrument were 90.65% with a very valid category. The results of field trials on 36 students were analyzed using the Rasch model with the help of Ministep 4.5.1 software. The results of the analysis of the test data obtained that 19 items of the instrument of scientific literacy ability and 12 items of the instrument of numeracy literacy ability were declared valid. The items on the scientific and numeracy literacy assessment instruments were also declared reliable with Cronbach's alpha values of 0.90 and 0.80, respectively, with excellent and good reliability categories. The practicality test of the instrument obtained an average practicality assessment score of 85.83 and was included in the very high criteria. The final product of the assessment instrument developed has met the instrument's eligibility standards, namely valid, reliable and practical.

PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA DIORAMA TAMAN SATWA UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MINAT BELAJAR PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATA PELAJARAN IPA KELAS V MI

This study aims to develop taman satwa diorama media to increase students' learning interest, determine the feasibility level of taman satwa diorama media, and determine the level of students’ learning interest in science subjects class V MI Thoriqotul Hidayah Bulutigo after using taman satwa diorama media in learning activities. This type of research is research and development (R&D) used the ADDIE development model. The sample in this study were fifth grade students, totaling 10 students. The data collection technique in this study were questionnaires and documentation. The analysis technique used is descriptive qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results of research and development of taman satwa diorama media showed that taman satwa diorama media were appropriate to be used as learning media in fifth grade students in science subjects to increase students' learning interest. This could be seen from the results of the validation test of media experts by 91%, material experts by 82%, language experts by 88%, practitioners (teachers) by 100%, and from the results of field trials by 97.4% which showed very valid criteria. Based on the results of the data analysis of students' learning interest questionnaires, there was a significant difference in the initial and final students' learning interest with the acquisition of an average score which was initially only 55% with the moderate category increasing to 93% with the very high category. Thus it could be concluded that taman satwa diorama media can increase students' learning interest in science subjects of fifth grade students at MI Thoriqotul Hidayah Bulutigo for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Thirty years of slug control using the parasitic nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita and beyond.

Several slug species are highly pestiferous and threaten global sustainable agriculture. Current control methods rely heavily on metaldehyde pellets, which are often ineffective, harm nontarget organisms and have been banned in some countries. A viable alternative is the parasitic nematode Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita (and recently P. californica), which has been formulated into a biological control agent (Nemaslug®) to control slugs across northern Europe. Nematodes are mixed with water and applied to soil where they seek out slugs, penetrate behind the mantle and kill them in 4-21 days. Phasmarhabditis hermaphrodita has been on the market since 1994 and since then there has been ample research on its use. Here we review the research carried out on P. hermaphrodita over the last 30 years since its development and release as a commercial product. We provide information on life cycle, worldwide distribution, history of commercialisation, gastropod immunity, host range, ecological and environmental factors that affect its success in the field, bacterial relationships, and summarise results of field trials. Finally, we suggest future directions for P. hermaphrodita research (and other Phasmarhabditis species) to enhance its use as a biological control agent to control slugs for the next 30 years. © 2023 The Authors. Effects of SmartStax® and SmartStax® PRO maize on western corn rootworm (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera LeConte) larval feeding injury and adult life history parameters.

Field-evolved resistance of the western corn rootworm (WCR), Diabrotica virgifera virgifera LeConte, to Bacillus thuringiensis Berliner (Bt) proteins Cry3Bb1 and Cry34/35Ab1 (now classified as Gpp34Ab1/Tpp35Ab1) expressed in the pyramid SmartStax® has been documented in areas of the United States (U.S.) Corn Belt. SmartStax® PRO is a recently registered rootworm-active pyramid containing the same Bt proteins expressed in SmartStax® plus DvSnf7 dsRNA. Little to no published data is available comparing efficacy of the technologies or potential effects of dietary exposure on adult WCR fitness. Therefore, experiments were conducted to compare effects of adult WCR dietary exposure to SmartStax® and SmartStax® PRO on life history parameters and efficacy of the technologies in the field with both Bt-susceptible and Bt-resistant WCR populations. WCR life history parameters evaluated included adult longevity, head capsule width, egg production, and egg viability. Results of small-plot field trials indicated that both technologies provided a high level of root protection when a Bt-susceptible WCR population was present. Root protection was reduced on SmartStax® but maintained on SmartStax® PRO when WCR Bt resistance occurred. Lifetime egg production was the key life history parameter that was significantly reduced when either Bt-susceptible or Bt-resistant adult WCR were fed SmartStax® or SmartStax® PRO diet. A potential fitness advantage was apparent as egg production was significantly higher in the Bt-resistant than Bt-susceptible population. The similar response by the Bt-susceptible WCR population to SmartStax® and SmartStax® PRO indicates that results were caused by sublethal dietary exposure to Bt proteins. Adult size (males < females) and egg viability (high: >95%) were not significantly different among treatments but longevity results were inconsistent between years. Collectively, the field efficacy and life history parameter data expand existing knowledge of SmartStax® and SmartStax® PRO technologies, which will inform practical WCR resistance management programs.

3-D Adaptive AUV Sampling for Classification of Water Masses

Autonomous underwater vehicles with onboard computing units foster innovative approaches for sampling oceanographic phenomena. Feedback of observations via the onboard model for planning algorithms enable adaptive sampling for such robotic units. In this work, we develop, implement, and test an adaptive sampling algorithm for efficient sampling of water masses in a 3-D frontal system. Focusing on a river plume, salinity variations are used to characterize the water masses. A threshold in salinity is assumed to distinguish the ocean and river waters, so that excursions below the threshold define river waters. The onboard model builds on a Gaussian random field representation of the salinity variations in (north, east, depth) coordinates. This model is initially trained from numerical ocean model data, and then updated with data gathered by the vehicle sensor. The Gaussian random field model further allows closed-form expressions of the expected spatially integrated Bernoulli variance of the salinity excursion set, which is used to reward sampling efforts. Combining these results with forward-looking planning algorithms, we suggest a workflow for 3-D adaptive sampling to map river plume systems. Simulation studies are used to compare the suggested approach with others. Results of field trials in the Nidelva river plume in Norway are presented and discussed.
