Blockchain-based Supply Chain Solution Using IPFS and QR Technology for Traditional Weave in West Nusa Tenggara

Traditional weaving is a significant cultural heritage in West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, renowned for its unique and intricate woven fabrics. However, the industry faces challenges such as product counterfeiting and the need for more transparency in the supply chain, hindering its growth and economic potential. This paper proposes a solution by leveraging blockchain technology to enhance traceability, security, and efficiency throughout the supply chain of traditional woven products. Integrating the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) and Quick Response (QR) codes further fortifies data integrity and provides consumers with comprehensive product information. A prototype web application is developed, demonstrating the practical implementation of this framework. Rigorous testing of the prototype validates the correct functionality of the proposed solution. This innovative framework aims to safeguard the authenticity and sustainability of the traditional woven products from West Nusa Tenggara, fostering a more competitive and secure industry while preserving cultural heritage.

Embracing quick response technology to bring assessments to life during simulation

Despite the technological advances in simulation with high-fidelity manikins, moulage, and virtual reality, there continues to be a lack of realism during simulation that allows students to navigate specific scenarios appropriately. Faculty implemented an innovative teaching strategy with third-semester nursing students using QR codes during postpartum simulation to accurately depict OB-specific assessment findings. Faculty observations during the simulation and student feedback received during debriefing revealed that the inclusion of authentic assessment photos enhanced students' clinical judgment when identifying the priority interventions for their patients. QR codes can be used in simulation to provide life-like assessment findings at a low cost to departments and allow students to build on clinical judgment and critical thinking skills.

Leveraging quick response (QR) Codes for horticultural information access: A stakeholder perspective

In the context of horticulture’s crucial role in economic growth, nutritional security and employment, the sector faces challenges related to dissemination of credible scientific information, particularly in rural areas. The gap in information access leads farmers to rely on experiential knowledge and peer opinions. Leveraging information and communication technology (ICT), specifically quick response (QR) codes, presents an innovative solution to bridge this information gap. This paper investigates stakeholders’ awareness, utilization, size and display distance and constraints in utilizing QR codes for accessing horticultural information. The findings indicated that 93.33% of the respondents reported previous usage, highlighting the technology’s ubiquity and acceptance. Moreover, stakeholders expressed positive inclination towards QR code adoption for accessing horticultural information, with 53.33% expressing likelihood to embrace QR technology. Effect of QR code size on the display board and their display distance on the usability and adoption was also studied, which indicated, 71.22% accessed QR codes on large displays of size 8" x 11", while, 16.66% accessed them on small displays of size 4" x 5". However, despite the positive reception, several challenges impede QR code utilization. Poor internet network connectivity (mean score: 71.00) during National Horticultural Fair (NHF-2024) emerges as a significant barrier, alongside entrenched preferences for traditional methods (mean score: 69.00). By aligning QR code designs with stakeholders’ preferences and addressing constraints, horticultural stakeholders can leverage QR codes more effectively, fostering knowledge dissemination and driving horticultural development.

Students' Sentiment on QR Code and its Implications on Work and Life

QR (Quick Response) codes have become increasingly prevalent in modern life and their widespread applications across various fields highlight the need to understand user preferences and experiences for effective usage and future development. This paper provides a comprehensive study of student sentiment analysis on QR codes based on KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice) by leveraging statistical tools and NLP (Natural Language Processing). Mixed research design was employed to analyze the data collected from 224 respondents at Sherubtse College using convenient sampling. The analysis reveals that while majority of the students were aware of purpose QR codes, not many are aware of the security threats and QR generation, highlighting the need of increased awareness on security threats. Despite the disparity, the QR technology is widely used by students in banking and they highly recommend its use to others. Students have also expressed their perceived ease of use, convenience, and privacy benefits during transaction alongside challenges such as delayed scanning due to network issues and poor print quality, which needs to be addressed.

Quick response in fast fashion omnichannel: exploring cost sharing effect

Facing the rapid value decline issue in the fast fashion product (FFP) industry, improving quick response (QR) capability will allow a FFP supply chain to deliver products to customers faster and capture more value. On this basis, the value compensate through QR effort and the coordination strategy for a FFP supply chain in an omnichannel context is investigated. Characterizing the regularity of product value attenuation and also QR effort as the key decision variable in a FFP omnichannel, five differential game theoretical decision models are formulated, solved and compared, including: (i) without cost sharing model under a decentralized decision; (ii) manufacturer-led unilateral cost sharing model under a decentralized decision; (iii) retailer-led unilateral cost sharing model under a decentralized decision; (iv) bilateral cost sharing under a decentralized decision; (v) bilateral cost sharing model under a coordination decision. The corresponding numerical and sensitivity analyses are conducted on a calibrated real-world fast fashion product, and have found that, in order to achieve higher total profit, a cost sharing contract mechanism is better than a without cost sharing contract mechanism; a bilateral mechanism is better than a unilateral mechanism; and a coordination mechanism is better than a decentralized mechanism. The theoretical themes developed in this study imply that FFP omnichannel practitioners should put more resource and energy in coordinating their QR efforts in the supply chain. Importantly, they should collaborate closely to confine the cost of QR effort investment through a smart selection of the right QR technologies and a better utilization of these technologies to develop and support a highly sense-and-respond supply chain operation method.

Impacts of tourists’ trust, perception and acceptance of health quick response technology on responsible pandemic travel behaviours

旅游者对健康快速反应技术的信任、感知和接受疫情大流行期间负责任旅游行为的影响研究目的本文旨在建立并实证检验一个理论框架, 以解释健康快速反应 (QR) 技术信任和接受对负责任的大流行旅行的影响。研究设计/方法/途径该研究整合了信任、信心和合作理论以及技术接受模型来解决研究目标。 采用配额抽样的方法, 在中国大陆对 1089 名受访者进行了全国在线调查。 应用结构方程模型来评估提出的假设。研究发现结果表明, 健康二维码技术信任可以提高旅行信心并减轻旅行恐惧, 这会影响游客的旅行意愿和社会疏远做法。 然而, 游客对健康二维码的接受鼓励了社会疏远行为, 而不是旅游意图。研究局限性/影响该研究说明了健康信息技术在大流行背景下提高游客信心和负责任的旅行行为方面的作用。 此外, 该研究通过调查健康相关技术的接受度与流行病旅行行为之间的关系, 支持并补充了技术接受度模型。研究实际意义这项研究帮助当地政府和旅游管理者评估健康二维码在中国大流行旅游中的有效性。 提供了提高游客信任度、技术采用和负责任行为的策略。研究独创性/价值这项研究与现有文献的不同之处在于调查了大流行旅行中的创新技术（即健康二维码）。 鉴于 COVID-19 爆发后健康二维码的流行, 它填补了知识空白并提供了改善大流行旅行安全的建议。

Green supply chain management in Chinese firms: Innovative measures and the moderating role of quick response technology

AbstractThe last decade has witnessed a sharp rising trend in environmental awareness and protection in China. Green supply chain management (GSCM) has been regarded as an effective tool in China for mitigating the negative effects that firms have on the environment. However, the extent to which GSCM pressures influence GSCM practices, and whether and how GSCM practices affect GSCM performance are topics that remain under‐explored. Combining Institutional Theory, Resource‐Based View (RBV) Theory, and the literature on GSCM, our study sheds light on the relationship among GSCM pressures, practices, and performance under the moderating effect of quick response (QR) technology. Using statistical analysis of the collected data and case studies from companies in China, we establish several results. First, among different GSCM pressures, market and export pressures have significant impacts on GSCM practices, whereas cost pressure does not influence GSCM practices significantly. Second, internal improvement practice exerts a significant impact on GSCM practices, while external improvement practice negatively affects positive economic performance. In addition, ecology practice has significantly influenced environmental, positive economic, and operational performance. Third, QR technology suppresses the positive effect between internal improvement practice and negative economic performance. Two real cases from Huawei (telecommunications technologies) and Beijing Benz Automotive (automobile manufacturing) are conducted to verify the findings and generate additional insights. Our findings contribute to the literature and provide guidance to help governments and companies establish effective and innovative GSCM policies.

Use of QR Code Technology for Providing Library and Information Services in Academic Libraries: A Case Study

The purpose of this paper is to introduce application of QR code technology in providing library services. The paper describes about how Quick Response (QR) code technology is useful for providing academic library services for academic community. IISER Bhopal Library took an initiative to implement QR technology in disseminating quick library information services for library users. This paper also describes about QR code technology, its history, features, benefits, generating QR codes, limitations and successful implementation of this in IISER Bhopal Library.

Multi-factor product authentication using integrated Quick Response (QR) code pixelated antenna

Abstract A Quick Response (QR) Code style antenna is presented. Such an antenna can provide two-level authentication, both optically through the current QR technology, plus a radio frequency (RF) signature from microstrip patch antenna designed from the QR signature using copper patterning. The antenna is designed through the pixilation of a patch antenna where conductor is present in the dark regions of the optical QR code. The QR based antenna design has a unique frequency and radiation signature and can be used for RF authentication of products. The design process for the pixilation is presented as well as fabrication and measured results of a QR code antenna design. The possibility of using a Genetic Algorithm to create a “library” of acceptable antenna results in accordance with the QR data it represents is also discussed.

Smart Phone-Based Quick Response (QR) Evaluations for Residents: What Do Faculty Think?

BACKGROUND: Providing ample, high quality and timely venue-based evaluations of resident performance is a critical mandate of graduate medical education. METHODS: We utilized a before and after study design to compare a paper venue-based evaluation tool for procedures to a smart phone QR evaluation tool introduced in July 2014 at the University of Washington OB-GYN Residency Program. Each resident was assigned a QR code for faculty to access the evaluation in a smart-phone based application. Faculty completed a baseline survey evaluating the paper tool and a 6-month follow-up survey evaluating the QR tool. We compared characteristics of the feedback and the evaluation tools using Wilcoxon signed rank test. RESULTS: Twenty-three of 40 (58%) eligible teaching faculty 40 completed surveys at 0 and 6 months after introducing the QR tool. More faculty (57.1%) agreed that the QR tool promoted interaction compared to the paper tool (13.0%, P=.0005). More faculty (85.7%) felt comfortable approaching residents with the QR tool compared with paper (34.8%, P=.0019) and more felt that the QR tool (52.4%) helped give feedback for residents (17.4%, P=.0071). Greater percentage of faculty (71.4%) provided feedback within 24 hours with the QR tool compared with paper (17.4%, P=.0005). DISCUSSION: Faculty are comfortable utilizing smart phone-based QR technology for resident evaluation and it appears to be associated with more timely feedback.

Use of quick response coding to create interactive patient and provider resources.

Since their creation more than 20 years ago, the proliferation of Quick Response (QR) codes has expanded tremendously. Little was found in the literature to support the innovative use of QR coding in the classroom or in health care provision. Thus, the authors created a doctoral-level practicum experience using QR coding to create interactive, individualized patient or provider resource guides. Short, descriptive surveys were used before and after implementation of the practicum experience to determine students' comfort level using QR technology, their knowledge base, ease of use, and overall satisfaction with the practicum. Students reported high levels of satisfaction with this exercise, and all agreed that use of QR coding could have important implications in the clinical environment. This practicum experience was a creative, practical, and valuable example of integrating emerging technology into individualized patient care.

Strength of Quick Response Barcodes and Design of Secure Data Sharing System

With the vast introduction of the wireless world, the exchanged information now is more prone to security attacks than ever. Barcodes are the information careers in the form of an image. Their various applications have been discussed in brief and also the structure, symbology and properties of barcodes. This paper aims to provide an approach which can share high security information over the network using QR barcodes. QR barcodes are explained in detail to get the rigged understanding on quick response technology. The design of data security model to share the data over the network is explained. This model aims to enable secure data share over the network. This model is a layered architecture and protects the data by transforming the structure of content. So barcodes are used to put tricks over the information rather than directly using it for its noble functionality.

L'uso del QR Code come tecnologia didattica: uno studio esplorativo

This paper discusses a pilot study on the potential benefits of QR (Quick Response) Codes as a tool for facilitating and enhancing learning processes. An analysis is given of the strengths and added value of QR technologies applied to museum visits, with precautions regarding the design of learning environments like the one presented. Some possible future scenarios are identified for implementing these technologies in contexts more strictly related to teaching and education.

Do quick response technology-based attributes make a difference in consumer satisfaction with apparel retail stores?

This study examines whether consumer's perception of quick response technology (QRT) attributes in a retail store affects the consumer's satisfaction with the store. We posit that consumer's expectancy confirmation of QRT attributes in a store has a significant influence on consumer's satisfaction with the store. We also posit that the relationship between expectancy, confirmation, and consumer satisfaction is moderated by consumer's fashion orientation, economic orientation, and time orientation. We conducted a study to test these hypotheses with a sample of 200 female apparel consumers in a southeast city of the United States. The results indicate that expectancy confirmation of QRT attributes does make a difference in customer satisfaction. Furthermore, as expected, fashion orientation and economic orientation were found to be significant moderators, but time orientation was not a significant moderator on the linkage between confirmation of QRT attributes and customer satisfaction. Managerial implications are discussed.

The Moderating Effect of Store Type on Consumer Satisfaction and Quick Response Technology-based Disconfirmation

The purpose of the research is to investigate the moderating effect of store type on disconfirmation (DC) about Quick Response Technology (QRT)-based store attributes and consumer satisfaction (CS) with an apparel retail store. A convenience sample of 200 female consumers was used for this descriptive research design. Descriptive statistics and ANC OVA were used to examine the relationship among DC of QRT-based attributes, store type, and CS. The store type was a significant moderator between consumer satisfaction and QRT-based DC with an apparel retail store. Consumer satisfaction with specialty chain and small individual stores was less influenced by QRT-based attributes than consumer satisfaction with department and discount stores. This study provides valuable information to apparel retailers as they evaluate the implementation of QRT to improve CS concerning their store type.

Quick Response Adoption Process in the Korean Apparel Industry

The purpose of this study was to explore three specific determinants for the Quick Response (QR) adoption process in the Korean apparel industry. For QR adoption, organizational strategy, perception of QR benefits, and usage level of QR technologies were included as constructs in this study. The conceptual framework for the study was based on Rogers' innovation-decision process model (Rogers, 1983). A random sample of 250 Korean apparel manufacturers without location limitation was selected from the Korean apparel manufacturers' list. A mail questionnaire was pilot tested, and the revised questionnaire was sent to CEOs. Response rate was 41 % (n = 102). Regression and discriminant analyses were used for data analysis. Organizational strategy was significantly related to perception of QR benefits. The perception of QR benefits had a significant relationship to QR adoption. QR adoption had significant relationship to the usage level of QR technologies. This information provides a direction for strategic planning to apparel companies.

Impact of business type upon the adoption of quick response technologies – The apparel industry experience

The purpose of this study was to explore the impact of business type upon the adoption process for quick response (QR) technologies in the apparel industry. Using Rogers’ (1983) innovation decision process model as our conceptual basis, we empirically investigated three stages of that process as it pertains to QR adoption: persuasion, decision, and implementation. In our study of 103 US apparel manufacturers, we found business type to impact significantly the firms’ perceptions of benefits to be derived from QR. The perceptions of these benefits, in turn, affected the apparel manufacturers’ adoption of a QR strategy which, in turn, influenced their use of various QR technologies.

The Value of Strategic-type Classification for Identifying the Usage of New Technologies

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the use of strategic-type classifications in analyzing apparel firms and to examine the relationship between the strategic type of firms and the usage of Quick Response (QR) technologies. Demographic characteristics of apparel manufacturers and the usage of QR technologies are also detailed. A random sample of 306 US apparel manufacturers, without locational limitation, was selected and stratified by firm size (i.e. number of employees) and product category (i.e. men's, women's, or children's wear). A mail questionnaire was sent to plant managers. The adjusted response rate was 47% (n = 103). Nonparametric statistics (Kruskal Wallis Test, Wilcoxon Scores) were used for data analysis. The most frequently used technologies were small-lot orders, short-cycle cut-planning, and product planning with customers. Manufacturers who were prospectors in product and market development had the highest usage level of QR technologies, while defenders had the lowest usage level. Reactors, manufacturers who lack consistent strategy, represented 20% of respondents. This information provides direction to apparel firms for strategic planning.

Developing partnerships and networks: learning from practices in Australia

This paper discusses the development of partnerships and networks in Australian industry. Two projects are discussed. Project one is funded by the Commonwealth Government and involves the retailers, manufacturers and suppliers in the textiles, clothing and footwear industry. The aim of this project, which started in 1992, is to improve the competitiveness and responsiveness of the industry by implementing quick response technologies and methodologies. Fifty companies are involved in this project which have been brought together into clusters of three supply-chain companies. Roundtable meetings, workshops and seminars have been conducted to establish good inter-company working relationships and the building of a climate where problems are openly shared.The second project is funded by industry to help promote the adoption of Best Practices amongst the companies in the southeast region of Melbourne. Over the past two years, 90 companies have been involved in various activities which has resulted in strong networks being developed around the region.The paper provides details of how these networks and partnerships have developed. Key success factors in establishing networks and partnerships are identified. Problems in facilitating and managing these networks and partnerships are also identified and discussed.

The impact of quick response technologies on retail store attributes

In the competitive business environment, retailers can obtain profit by strategic planning and delivering consumer satisfaction. Quick response (QR) is a new business strategy to maximize consumer satisfaction by implementing new technologies (e.g. barcoding, scanner). Reports on research which aimed to identify the use of quick response technologies (QRT) and to identify store attributes that are improved by QRT. A convenience sample of 32 apparel retailers participated in this survey research; 26 retailers were selected at a QR trade conference and six small individual retailers were also selected from a south‐east city. Finds that the most frequently cited store attributes that are improved by QRT were fast turnaround of goods and reduced stockouts. Both the use of QRT and improvement level of store attributes differed by store type.
