Factors Influencing Nurses Performance in Implementing the Professional Nursing Practice Model

Introduction: Nursing performance plays a pivotal role in determining the quality of healthcare services, especially in the application of professional nursing models. Several factors, both internal and external, influence nursing performance, including job satisfaction, work culture, workload, supervision, and experience. Understanding these relationships is essential for improving the quality of care in healthcare facilities, particularly hospitals. Objective: To analyze the relationship between various factors, including job satisfaction, work culture, workload, supervision, and experience, with nurses' performance in implementing the Professional Nursing Practice Model. Methods: This study employed a quantitative descriptive approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 30 inpatient nurses selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test. Results: Most respondents were female, held a D3 education level, and had five years of work experience. The chi-square test revealed significant relationships between job satisfaction (p = 0.004), work culture (p = 0.002), workload (p = 0.004), supervision (p = 0.001), experience (p = 0.007), and the implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Model. Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between job satisfaction, work culture, workload, supervision, experience, and the application of the Professional Nursing Practice Model, as evidenced by p-values less than 0.05. Improving these factors can enhance nurse performance and overall quality of care in hospitals.

Leadership Style, Supervision Techniques, Competencies, and Implementation of Professional Nursing Practices on Service Quality: A Cross-Sectional

Background: The provision of high-quality healthcare services is a critical. Objective: This study aims to investigate the influence of leadership style, supervision techniques, and competence on the quality of service at the Columbia Asia Pulomas Special Surgical Hospital with the implementation of professional nursing practice as an intervening variable. Method: The quantitative with an cross-sectional approach was used to determine the causality among variables. Data was collected from 105 nurses using purposive sampling techniques and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Result: The result found that leadership style (p-value<.05), competencies (p-value<.05), and professional nursing practice (p-value<.05) have positive effect on quality of services. Professional nursing practice mediates the influence of the three independent variables on service quality. Conclusion: These findings show the importance of implementing the professional nursing practice model in improving the quality of nursing services. The democratic leadership style applied motivates nurses to provide quality services, while more effective supervision needs to be improved to ensure optimal service. Nurse competency plays a crucial role in producing quality services through professional nursing practice. Implication: This research contributes to the understanding of the factors that influence the quality of nursing services in hospitals and provides valuable input in improving service standards. Therefore, hospital leaders and management need to pay attention to the implementation of professional nursing practices as a strategy to improve the quality of nursing services

The Impact of Implementing the Modular Professional Nursing Practice Model on Nurse Work Motivation at Unicare Clinic Bali

Background: The implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Model (PNPM) has not been carried out by all health institutions in Indonesia, which causes the work of nurses to be less effective and affects nurses' work motivation. This study aimed to determine the impact of PNPM on nurses’ motivation at Unicare Clinic Bali. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a control group. A total sampling method involved 140 nurses divided into intervention and control groups. The variables identified were the components of work motivation, which consist of organizational culture, leadership, communication, work activities, and compensation. The research instrument used was a standard work motivation questionnaire based on Herzberg's theory. Data analysis was conducted using a paired t-test to measure the difference between the control and intervention groups and an independent t-test to determine the difference between intervention groups. Results: The results showed differences in nurses' work motivation scores in the intervention group before and after the intervention. There is a significant difference between work motivation between the intervention and control groups with t-value 2,432> t-table 1,667 tables and p value<0.05. Conclusion: There was an increase in nurses' work motivation components in applying the Modular PNPM. Nurses can play an active role in providing suggestions to improve the quality of nursing services, and evaluation of the PNPM can be carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain its effectiveness and efficiency.

Healthcare Quality Received by Insured Patients in Two Indonesian Regional Public Hospitals.

Background: Hospitals are required to improve the quality of health services provided to patients. Purpose: Evaluating and comparing the healthcare quality received by insured patients hospitalized in two Indonesian regional public hospitals. Methods: Secondary data analysis used the 2019 and 2020 Indonesian National Health Insurance e-claim databases of Hospital A and Hospital B. Descriptive and crosstabs analyses were used to determine INA-CBGs diagnoses that were categorized as high volume, high risk, and high cost. Results: The admissions that caused financial loss at the Hospital A were 21.1% in 2019 and 19.8% in 2020, while 30.3% in 2019 and 27.5% at the Hospital B. More than 60% of these admissions were placed in the 3rd class of inpatient wards of the two hospitals. Of these admissions, < 5% at the Hospital A and >5% at the Hospital B were readmitted within 30 days, although more than 90% were previously discharged based on physicians' approval. Conclusions: Inadequate healthcare quality received by insured patients. Hence, an integrated clinical pathways based professional nursing practice model is highly recommended to increase patient outcomes and decrease 30 days hospital readmission rates.

This study aims to determine the types of interventions that can increase the job satisfaction of nurses in hospitals through an article review approach. The research method used is scoping review through databases namely Pubmed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, SpringerLink, and Garuda Portal. The results of the study show that 15 interventions articles that can increase nurse job satisfaction include organizational culture, organizational commitment, implementation of nurse welfare programs, work professionalism, clinical supervision, implementation of sharia behavior in nursing services, scheduling management, leadership, democratic leadership, transformational leadership, style transformational leadership, organizational climate, application of the team method, application of the professional nursing practice model (MPKP), leadership style, and structural empowerment. Implementasi Model Praktek Keperawatan Profesional (MPKP) terhadap Kepuasan Pelanggan dan Kepuasan Kerja Perawat

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Model (MPKP) on customer satisfaction and job satisfaction of nurses at RSU Royal Prima Medan. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with a cross-sectional approach. The results showed that if the implementation of MPKP at RSU Royal Prima Medan went well, then 186 nurses felt fasting with a percentage of 88.6%. No nurses were dissatisfied, and if MPKP implementation at RSU Royal Prima Medan went wrong well, 15 nurses were satisfied with a rate of 7.1%. Nine nurses were disappointed, with a percentage of 4.3%. The results of the chi-square test obtained a p-value of 0.000 &lt;0.05. In conclusion, there is a relationship between the implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Model (MPKP) on the job satisfaction of nurses at RSU Royal Prima Medan.&#x0D; &#x0D; Keywords: Nurse Job Satisfaction, Patient Satisfaction, MPKP

The effect of Professional Nursing Practice Model Training (MPKP) with the implementation of Pillar IV Nursing Care Delivery System (Pillar IV NCDs) at a Hospital in Kotamobagu, Indonesia

Background: Professional Nursing Practice Model Training (Model Praktik Keperawatan Profesional; MPKP) is one of the efforts to improve the quality of service in hospitals in nursing services to minimize errors or omissions that can occur. The training carried out is expected to be able to improve the implementation of pillar IV NCDS in hospitals. Aims: This study aimed to determine the effect of MPKP training with the application of pillar IV NCDS at the General Hospital of the Evangelical Masehi Church Bolaang Mongondow Monompia Kotamobagu. Methods: This research is a quantitative research type with a pre-experimental research design one group pre-test post-test design. This research was conducted in August 2022 as many as 52 nurse respondents working at the Monompia GMIBM Hospital Kotamobagu. Results: From the survey, it shows that the intervention will increase the number of nurses implementing the Pillar IV Nursing Care Delivery System (Pillar IV NCDs) including the assessment element (from 76.9% to 90.4%), nursing diagnosis (from 36.5% to 75.0%), planning (from 51.9% to 88.5%), action or measurement (from 84.6% and 92.3%), evaluation (from 46.2% to 90.4%), and nursing care notes (78.8% and 98.1%). There are differences in the implementation of pillar IV NCDS before and after being given MPKP training (p-value: &lt;0.001). it is known that education level and the work experience of the nurses will significantly determine the success of the training, respectively with p value of &lt;0.001 and 0.004. Conclusion: From the survey, we may note how the Professional Nursing Practice Model Training (MPKP) affecting the number of nursing implementing the Pillar IV NCDs. Data from the results can be used as recommendation to the hospitals' human resources department in designing their program in order to increase the nurses' competences.

Pelatihan MPKP untuk Meningkatkan Pengetahuan Perawat tentang MPKP di RSJ Grhasia Yogyakarta

The professional nursing practice model (MPKP) is one of the efforts to improve the quality of nursing services. Knowledge is one of the important factors to support the optimal implementation of MPKP. The purpose of this study was to increase nurses' knowledge about MPKP and the implementation of MPKP in Grhasia Hospital through MPKP training. This research is a quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. The approach used is one group pretest and posttest design. Respondents in this study were all 37 Grhasia Hospital nurses who attended MPKP training. the average knowledge of nurses about MPKP before the training was 71.62, then after the MPKP training the average knowledge of nurses became 128.11. The results of the normality test showed that there was an abnormal distribution of the data so that the bivariate analysis used the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of the Wilcoxon test, a p-value of 0.000 was obtained, so it can be concluded that MPKP training can increase nurses' knowledge about MPKP. Researchers consider it necessary to do further research on the implementation of MPKP in Grhasia Hospital Yogyakarta.

Perbandingan Model Asuhan Keperawatan Profesional Tim dengan Primary Nursing dalam Peningkatan Kualitas Asuhan Keperawatan di Rumah Sakit Kota Medan

The development of science and technology that continues to progress, especially in the health sector requires changes in terms of service so that in providing more professional services in hospitals, nursing care must be of high quality. Nursing Law Number 38 of 2014 Article 3B states that nursing arrangements aim to improve the quality of nursing services, therefore the provision of quality nursing services is important in today's health services. The model of professional nursing care is divided into several models, namely primary, team and case nursing. Based on the results of a survey of research journals, the researchers concluded that there was no research that compared the professional nursing care team model with primary nursing in improving the quality of nursing care. The purpose of this study was to identify the use of the professional nursing care team model with the primary nursing model in improving the quality of nursing care. This type of research is a quantitative research type with a comparative design. The population in this study were all patients at the Inpatient Hospital where the study was conducted. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling technique. Data collection on the quality of nursing care used a quality scale patient assessment instrument – the acute care version (PAQS-ACV). This instrument was developed to assess the quality of nursing care. Data analysis in this study used an independent t-test. normality test using the Kolmorogov-Smirnov test with a significance value (p &gt; 0.05). The results showed that there was a significant difference between the quality of nursing care in the team group and the quality of nursing care in the primary nursing group where the value of sig (2-tailed) was 0.008 where &gt; 0.05, the results also showed that based on the results of the frequency distribution test the quality of nursing care was using the team model and the primary nursing model has a high majority value of nursing care quality, but there is a difference in the average value (mean) where the quality of nursing care in the nursing care model group in the team method group is 144.86 and the quality of nursing care in the primary nursing model group is 155.83. These results indicate that the quality of nursing care with the primary nursing model has a higher quality of care value than the group nursing care model with the team method. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended that hospitals can apply a professional nursing practice model, especially the primary nursing model to further improve the quality of nursing care provided.

Evaluation of health care quality among insured patients in Indonesian mother & child hospital: A secondary data analysis

ObjectiveThis study aimed to evaluate the health care quality among insured patients hospitalized in the Indonesian mother and child hospital. MethodA secondary data analysis was performed to evaluate the health care services received by the insured patients hospitalized in the Indonesian mother and child hospital. Data were extracted from the BPJS health insurance e-claim database from January 1 to December 31, 2019 and from January 1 to June 30, 2020. A descriptive and bivariate analysis were used to examine total patients and hospital admissions; INACBGs diagnoses, procedures by severity; types of inpatient wards; length of stay; discharge status; hospital costs; and 30-day readmissions. ResultsTotal inpatient unit admissions were 2870 in 2019 and 1533 in 2020. From total hospital admissions in 2019 and 2020, over 50% were admitted to the 3rd class of inpatient units, less than 10% had length of stays more than 5 days, and over 98% were discharged based on physician approval. However, hospital readmissions were also found for about 20.1% in 2019 and 2.9% in 2020 and about 42.9% in 2019 and 61.3% in 2020 were found causing hospital financial losses. Older patients, longer hospital stays, inpatient ward class 1 & 2, high hospital tariff, inadequate clinical pathway implementation, lack of interprofessional collaboration, and ineffective nurse manager supervision were identified as contributing factors to the hospital financial losses. ConclusionIntegrated clinical pathways with interprofessional collaboration that are implemented through professional nursing practice model are suggested for health care quality improvement.

Relationship Application Of Professional Nursing Practice Models With The Level Of Working Satisfaction Of Nurses In The MPKP Room Of Lasinrang Pinrang Hospital

Professional Nursing Practice Model (MPKP) is a method of comprehensive nursing care in providing quality nursing care. This study aims to investigate the correlation between the implementation of the professional nursing practice model and the work satisfaction rate of the working nurses at the MPKP room of the Regional Hospital of Lasinrang in Pinrang. The study is analytically observational with a cross-sectional design. The subject (n=124) are practicing nurses in the inpatient ward of Lasinrang Regional Hospital of Pinrang. The sample was selected employing a systematic random sampling technique. The data were obtained with a questionnaire distribution and observation checklist and the data were analyzed with univariate and bivariate measures. The chi-square test proves that the operand (p=0.000), pre-Competence (p=0.000), competence (p=0.000), competence case (p=0.164), and round (p=0.164) on the work satisfaction rate of the working nurses. This implies that there is a significant correlation the operand evaluation, pre-conference, post-conference, and the work satisfaction rate of the working nurses for the value of p&lt;0.05 but no significant correlation between case competency evaluation as well as round and the work satisfaction of the nurses with p&gt;0.05.

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of the level of knowledge of nurses about MPKP with the effectiveness of implementing MPKP in Seruni Room of H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja District Hospital in Bulukumba 2016. This type of research is an Analytical Observational study with a Cross Sectional design. The population in this study were all nurses in the Seruni Room of the H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja Hospital in Bulukumba Regency which numbered 30 people. The sampling technique in this study is the Total Sampling method with a sample of 30 respondents. The statistical test used was the Fisher-Extract Test. The results obtained that, in the form of nurses' knowledge level about MPKP with the effectiveness of the application of MPKP with a value of p = 0.045 &lt;p (0.05). The results show that respondents who have a good level of knowledge are 10 respondents (33.3%) and respondents who have a lack of knowledge level are equal to 20 respondents (66.7%). Effective MPKP implementation was 12 respondents (40%) and ineffective MPKP application was 18 respondents (60%). With the conclusion that there is a relationship between the level of nurses' knowledge about MPKP with the effectiveness of implementing MPKP in the Seruni Room of the H. Andi Sulthan Daeng Radja District Hospital in Bulukumba 2016. Suggestions from this research are expected to be an effort to develop a model of professional nursing practice (MPKP) in each hospital, especially to continue to encourage concrete steps by continuing to increase the frequency of MPKP training for nurses so that the application of MPKP will be continuous with the good quality of service obtained by patients in the hospital.

X Hospital Bantul is a type C hospital that has a capacity of 129 beds with a total of 173 nurses. As a health worker who provides nursing services for 24 hours, nurses contribute greatly in improving the quality of service in hospitals. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the chief management approach and nurses job satisfaction on the performance of the nurses in the inpatient ward of X Hospital. The population of all nurses in the inpatient ward. The sample size was 101 nurses in the inpatient ward. Data analysis using linear regression. Result of t test of management approach obtained t value equal to 5,393 (5,393&gt; 1,984) and obtained t count value equal to 2,916 (2,916&gt; 1,984) which mean approach of management and job satisfaction partially have significant influence to nurse performance. While F test result obtained by F value 21.135 (21,135&gt; 3,089) with p value (0,000), which means there is a significant effect together the approach of chief management of space and job satisfaction on the performance of nurses in hospital ward PKU Muhammadiyah Bantul. The conclusion of management approach and job satisfaction has a significant effect on the performance of nurses at X Hospital.

Evaluasi dapat diarahkan kepada aspek struktur dimana komitmen organisasi pelayanan keperawatan akan dikaji, aspek proses dimana factor pelibatan dan partisipasi dari seluruh komponen yang terlibat dalam pemberian asuhan keperawatan dinilai, serta aspek hasil dimana kepuasaan klien dapat diukur. An evaluation program for a professional nursing practice model is required to assess the effectiveness of this model toward an improvement of nursing service in this model unit. The evaluation plan is involved in three aspects: structure, process, and outcome. The aspect of structure is evaluated to assess a commitment of the nursing service organization. The aspect of process is directed to evaluate an involvement and participation of all components in a nursing care delivery system. And finally, the aspect of outcome is assessed to determine the satisfaction of patients and the staff.
