Application of Milk Permeate as an Inducer for the Production of Microbial Recombinant Lipolytic Enzymes

Recombinantly produced enzymes are applied in many fields, ranging from medicine to food and nutrition, production of detergents, textile, leather, paper, pulp, and plastics. Thus, the cost-effectiveness of recombinant enzyme synthesis is an important issue in biotechnological industry. Isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG), an analog of lactose, is currently the most widely used chemical agent for the induction of recombinant enzyme synthesis. However, the use of IPTG can lead to production of toxic elements and can introduce physiological stress to cells. Thus, this study aims to find a simpler, cheaper, and safer way to produce recombinant enzymes. In this study, production of several previously designed recombinant lipolytic enzymes (GDEst-95 esterase, GD-95RM lipase, fused GDEst-lip lipolytic enzyme, and putative cutinase Cut+SP from Streptomyces scabiei 87.22) is induced in E. coli BL21 (DE3) using 4 mM milk permeate, a type of waste of the milk manufacturing process possessing >82% lactose. The SDS-PAGE analysis clearly indicates synthesis of all target enzymes during a 2–12 h post-induction timeframe. Further investigation of GDEst-95, GD-95RM, GDEst-lip, and Cut+SP biocatalysts was carried out spectrophotometrically and using zymography method, confirming production of fully active enzymes.

High throughput screening of technological and biopreservation traits of a large set of wild lactic acid bacteria from Brazilian artisanal cheeses

This study aimed to evaluate technological (acidification, proteolysis, lipolysis, resistance to low pH, NaCl, and bile salts) and biopreservation (antimicrobial activity against foodborne pathogens) features of 1002 LAB by high throughput screening (HTS) methods. The LAB was isolated from 11 types of Brazilian artisanal cheeses (BAC) marketed in the main 5 producing regions. Remarkable intra-species variability in acidification rates have been found, which was most pronounced between isolates from Mina's artisanal cheeses, Caipira and Coalho cheeses. Lacticaseibacillus paracasei and Levilactobacillus brevis showed the fastest acidification rate; however, all isolates showed slower acidification rates than a lactococcal control strain (4.3 × lower). When testing inhibitory effects, > 75% of LAB isolates could inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 19095 and Listeria monocytogenes ATCC 7644. Two of these isolates, identified as Lactiplantibacillus plantarum and Lentilactobacillus buchneri, the sterile and neutral supernatants alone, were sufficient to inhibit L. monocytogenes growth. Principal component analysis (PCA) allowed the identification of functional groups based on proteolytic and lipolytic activity, osmotic stress resistance, and inhibition of L. monocytogenes. The type of cheese the isolates were recovered from influenced properties such as anti-listerial compounds and lipolytic enzyme production. The use of HTS and multivariate statistics allowed insights into a diverse set of LAB technological and biopreservation properties. These findings allow a profound knowledge of the heterogeneity of a large set of isolates, which can be further used to design starter cultures with varied and combined properties, such as biopreservation and technological features. Besides that, HTS makes it possible to analyze a vast panel of LAB strains, reducing costs and time within laboratory analysis, while avoiding the loss of information once all LAB are tested at the same time (differently from the traditional labor-intensive approach, in which a few numbers of strains is tested per time).

Aeration and Stirring in Yarrowia lipolytica Lipase Biosynthesis during Batch Cultures with Waste Fish Oil as a Carbon Source

Yarrowia lipolytica is one of the most studied non-conventional forms of yeast, exhibiting a high secretory capacity and producing many industrially important and valuable metabolites. The yeast conceals a great biotechnological potential to synthesize organic acids, sweeteners, microbial oil, or fragrances. The vast majority of bioprocesses are carried out in bioreactors, where suitable culture conditions are provided. In the current study, the effect of agitation speed (200–600 rpm) and air flow rate (0.0375–2.0 dm3/(dm3 × min)) on the biomass yield and lipase activity of Y. lipolytica KKP 379 is analyzed in a growth medium containing waste fish oil. The increase of aeration intensity limited the period of oxygen deficit in the medium. Simultaneously, an increase in lipolytic activity was observed from 2.09 U/cm3 to 14.21 U/cm3; however, an excessive agitation speed likely caused oxidative or shear stresses, and a reduction in lipolytic activity was observed. Moreover, it is confirmed that the synthesis of lipases is related to oxygen consumption, pH, and the yeast growth phase, and appropriate process selection may provide two advantages, namely, the maximum use of the waste carbon source and the production of lipolytic enzymes that are valuable in many industries.

Isolation of Bacteria with Purifying Potential and Application in the Treatment of Effluents from an Artisanal Palm Oil Mill in the Littoral Region of Cameroon

It is with the aim of solving the problem of generating large quantities of effluents from palm oil production in the littoral region of Cameroon that this study was carried out with the general objective of reducing the pollutant load of these effluents by using bacteria. To this end, raw palm oil mill wastewater samples were taken for their characterization by evaluating the in-situ (Temperature, pH and (CND) Conductivity) and ex-situ (SS (suspended solid), COD (chemical oxygen demand), BOD (biological oxygen demand) and O/F (oil and fat)) parameters. In addition, bacterial isolation and screening were carried out from samples of contaminated soil based on the production of lipolytic enzymes, the degradation of oils and fats and the reduction of the pollutant load. Results revealed that 28 isolates were able to reduce the pollution parameters of palm oil mill effluents of which D17, D22 and D23 seemed to be the best purifying isolates. The characterization of the POME (palm oil mill effluent), basing the temperature, pH, CND, O/F, SS, BOD and COD showed us values greater than the recommended rate. Partial characterization of these isolates revealed that D17 and D23 are bacteria that could reduce the polluting parameters of the effluents belonged to the Bacillus sp. genus and D22 to the Acinetobacter sp. genus. These results are satisfactory and the bacteria strains obtained could be used in bioremediation.

Efficiency of Aspergillus Species to Produce the Lipase Enzyme from Various Types of Oil Seeds

Filamentous fungi can easily degrade agroindustrial wastes in solid- state fermentation processes synthesizing many important commercial biocompounds such as lipolytic enzymes. Lipases have various applications in industry so the aim of this study to evaluate the effect of the composition of the solid culture medium on the production of lipolytic enzymes by various species of Aspergillus, so in this study we use different types of of oil seeds to isolate different species of Aspergillus and study their effect on production of lipase enzyme by using of this different seeds as a substrate for culturing of this fungi and in this study Aspergillus niger that are isolated from pistacia vera seeds is more efficient for production of the lipase enzyme.

Production of lipolytic enzymes by bacteria isolated from biological effluent treatment systems.

This work aimed to evaluate the production of lipolytic complexes, produced by microorganisms isolated from a biological treatment system of effluents from a hotel. To select the best lipolytic microorganism for use in biotechnological processes, we tested 45 bacterial isolates recovered from the raw effluent of the hotel's restaurant waste tank. Lipase production was assayed in culture medium supplemented with olive oil and rhodamine B, incubated at 25 °C and 30 °C for 24 h - 48 h. Results showed 22 isolates lipase producers. All isolates were inoculated on medium without yeast extract to select the ones with highest enzyme yields. Out of these, nine isolates showed high lipase activity. The strain with the larger halo was assayed in submerged culture using an orbital shaker and a bioreactor, with three different substrates (olive oil, grape seed oil, and canola oil). Isolate G40 identified as Acinetobacter baylyi was selected to run the production assays because it showed the best result in the solid medium. In the bioreactor, maximum lipase production was obtained after 12 h of culture with the three substrates evaluated: 0,358 U/mL.min-1 in olive oil, 0,352 U/mL.min-1 with grapeseed oil, and 0,348 U/mL.min-1 with canola oil.

Lipids and lipolytic enzymes of the microalga Isochrysis galbana

Marine microalgae are now well-known for their ability to produce omega-3 long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) such as docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). Among these microalgae, Isochrysis galbana has received increasing interest especially because of its high DHA content and its common use in hatchery to feed fish larvae and clams. Moreover, lipolysis occurring from the biomass harvest stage suggests that I. galbana may contain lipolytic enzymes with potential interesting selectivities. For these reasons, the potential of this microalga for the production of valuable lipids and lipolytic enzymes was investigated. Lipid analysis revealed that DHA is mainly located at the sn-2 position of the phospholipids. Thus, I. galbana was considered as an interesting starting material for the lipase catalyzed production of 1-lyso-2-DHA-phospholipids which are considered as convenient vehicles for the conveyance of DHA to the brain. Lipids from I. galbana can also be used for the enzyme-catalyzed production of structured phospholipids containing one DHA and one medium chain fatty acid in order to combine interesting therapeutic and biological benefits. Starting from total RNA extract from I. galbana , coding sequences of putative lipolytic enzymes were obtained by RACE and Nested PCR. The heterologous expression of a sequence designated IgTeCe was implemented. An expression plasmid was constructed by ligating the coding sequence to a plasmid vector and then cloned and expressed in E. coli . Results showed the effective functionality of plasmid construction for the production of a recombinant protein with the expected molecular mass. Moreover, local alignment using BLASTP and biochemical evidences support the hypothesis that the expressed protein is a thioesterase.

LIPASE PRODUCTION BY Aspergillus niger GROWN IN DIFFERENT AGRO-INDUSTRIAL WASTES BY SOLID-STATE FERMENTATION

Abstract – Filamentous fungi can easily degrade agro-industrial wastes in solid-state fermentation processes, synthesizing many important commercial biocompounds, such as lipolytic enzymes. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the composition of the solid culture medium on the production of lipolytic enzymes by the fungus Aspergillus niger. Rice, wheat and soybean bran were mixed to prepare the culture medium, which was supplemented with glucose, glycerol or soybean oil. Four mixture experimental designs were used to find the best medium for enzyme production. According to our results, the highest lipolytic activity values were achieved with a mixture of rice bran and glycerol (19.844 U·g -1 ) or with rice bran only (13.267 U·g). Thus, the lipolytic enzyme could be produced without any additional carbon source apart from rice bran, although glycerol addition induced a higher production. Lipolytic and proteolytic activity of Pseudomonas spp. isolated during milking and storage of refrigerated raw milk

The aim of this study was to verify the presence of lipolytic and proteolytic Pseudomonas spp. during milking and storage of refrigerated raw milk. We also intended to compare samples collected during rainy and dry seasons, from farms with manual and mechanical milking systems. For this, samples of milkers’ hands, cows’ teats, water, expansion tanks, equipment, and utensils used during milking were analyzed regarding Pseudomonas spp. count. Positive samples were tested for the production of lipolytic and proteolytic enzymes. Microorganisms of the genus Pseudomonas were isolated from all sampling points. A higher isolation rate of the bacterium was found in the rainy season except for 6 sampling points, with all of these associated with mechanical milking systems. Pseudomonas spp. exhibiting lipolytic activity were found to be predominant during the dry season, since no activity was detected during the rainy season in 26 of the 29 sampling sites. The highest number of lipolytic Pseudomonas isolates was obtained from water. Presence of lipase-producing Pseudomonas spp. was verified in 7 and 36% of the samples collected from farms with manual and mechanical milking, respectively. When analyzing raw milk collected from expansion tanks immediately (0 h) and 24h after milking, we observed that for dairy properties with manual milking process, 10% of the Pseudomonas isolates were positive for lipolytic activity. The percentage increased to 12% 48h after milking. Mean averages were 32, 33, and 39% immediately after, 24 and 48h after milking, respectively, for farms with mechanical milking. All sampling points showed the presence of proteolytic strains of Pseudomonas. The highest proteolytic activity was found during the rainy season, except for the samples collected from milkers’ hands before milking, buckets, and teat cup inner surfaces after milking and from the water in dairy farms with mechanical milking system. Of these samples, 72, 56, and 50%, respectively, were positive for proteolysis during the dry season. For the water samples, a statistical difference was observed between mechanical (50%) and manual (7%) milking systems in the percentage of proteolytic activity. No production of proteolytic enzyme was detected in the samples from milkers’ hands taken after milking and no statistically significant difference was found among manual (19.91%) and mechanical (47.85%) milking. During the rainy months, no proteolysis was detected in the samples taken from cows’ teats after the predipping. It is evident, therefore, that preventive measures capable of minimizing the contamination with Pseudomonas spp. during milking and storage of refrigerated raw milk are needed, regardless of season.

Enhanced production of industrial enzymes in Mucoromycotina fungi during solid-state fermentation of agricultural wastes/by-products

Cellulolytic, lipolytic and proteolytic enzyme production of zygomycetes Mucor corticolus, Rhizomucor miehei, Gilbertella persicaria and Rhizopus niveus were investigated using agro-industrial wastes as substrates. Solid-state cultures were carried out on untreated corn residues (stalk and leaf) as single substrate (SSF1) or corn residues and wheat bran in mixed fermentation (SSF2). Rapid production of endoglucanase (CMCase) was observed with maximal activity reaching after about 48-h fermentation, while cellobiohydrolase (CBH) and β-glucosidase enzymes generally had their peak after 72-h incubation. Highest filter paper degrading (FPase), CMCase, CBH and β-glucosidase activities obtained were (U g⁻¹ dss) 17.3, 74.1, 12.2 and 158.3, for R. miehei, G. persicaria, M. corticolus and Rh. niveus, respectively. M. corticolus proved to be the best lipolytic enzyme producer in SSF1 presenting 447.6 U g⁻¹ dss yield, while R. miehei showed 517.7 U g⁻¹ dss activity in SSF2. Rh. niveus exhibited significantly greater protease production than the other strains. Suc-AAPF-pNA hydrolyzing activities of this strain were 1.1 and 1.96 U g⁻¹ dss in SSF1 and SSF2, respectively. We conclude that the used corn stalk and leaf residues could potentially be applicable as strong inducers for cellulase and lipase production by Mucoromycotina fungi.

Adaptation of the tween 80 assay with a resolution V fractional factorial design and its application to rank Ophiostoma fungi with wood extractive degrading capabilities

Wood extractives in radiata pine are the source of the observed pitch problems in the pulp and paper industry. Various methodologies have been studied and used to reduce or eliminate their negative effects. A biological treatment with albino fungi of the Ophiostoma genus, fungi that degrade the lipidic components of extractives, has been proposed as a more environmentally friendly alternative for pitch degradation. The current methods used to search for Ophiostoma albino strains with the highest degradation rates of wood extractives are labor intensive and require a large amount of resources. The Tween 80® Opacity test, an assay designed to measure lipolytic enzyme activity in filamentous fungi, was studied to verify the feasibility of its application as a methodology to rank Ophiostoma albino strains with deresination capabilities. The Tween 80® Opacity Test was first characterized by implementing a non-replicated 2 k-p fractional factorial design of resolution V for a 5 factors with 16 treatments and then to study the effect of the fungus species on the lipolytic enzyme activity; a randomized one factor general factorial design was conducted. The incubation temperature; antibiotics presence; and Tween 80® , CaCl 2 , and peptone concentrations were investigated in the first experiment. The Ophiostoma species effect was studied in the second experiment. In both experiments, the halo area size, which was formed by the fatty acid-calcium complex precipitate, was the response variable. The results demonstrated the effectiveness of the Tween 80® opacity test to measure the lipolytic enzyme activity of Ophiostoma albino strains. Similarly, the incubation temperature and the concentrations of Tween 80® , CaCl 2 , and bacteriological peptone had the highest statistically significant effect on the response variable. In addition, our data demonstrated that the albino strains from the specie O. floccosum exhibited the highest rate of lipolytic enzyme production.

Streptomyces sp. TEM 33 possesses high lipolytic activity in solid-state fermentation in comparison with submerged fermentation

ABSTRACTSolid-state fermentation (SSF) is a bioprocess that doesn’t need an excess of free water, and it offers potential benefits for microbial cultivation for bioprocesses and product development. In comparing the antibiotic production, few detailed reports could be found with lipolytic enzyme production by Streptomycetes in SSF. Taking this knowledge into consideration, we prefer to purify Actinomycetes species as a new source for lipase production. The lipase-producing strain Streptomyces sp. TEM 33 was isolated from soil and lipase production was managed by solid-state fermentation (SSF) in comparison with submerged fermentation (SmF). Bioprocess-affecting factors like initial moisture content, incubation time, and various carbon and nitrogen additives and the other enzymes secreted into the media were optimized. Lipase activity was measured as 1.74 ± 0.0005 U/g dry substrate (gds) by the p-nitrophenylpalmitate (pNPP) method on day 6 of fermentation with 71.43% final substrate moisture content. In order to understand the metabolic priority in SSF, cellulase and xylanase activity of Streptomyces sp. TEM33 was also measured. The microorganism degrades the wheat bran to its usable form by excreting cellulases and xylanases; then it secretes the lipase that is necessary for degrading the oil in the medium.

Enhancing Extracellular Lipolytic Enzyme Production In An Arctic Bacterium, Psychrobacter sp. ArcL13, By Using Statistical Optimization And Fed-Batch Fermentation

A strain isolated from seawater samples in the Chuckchi Sea and exhibiting extracellular lipolytic activity was identified using 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis as Psychrobacter sp. ArcL13. The lipolytic enzyme exhibited cold-active properties and high hydrolytic activity toward p-nitrophenyl caprylate (C8), p-nitrophenyl decanoate (C10), and sunflower oil. Statistical optimization of the medium components was performed to enhance the production of cold-active extracellular lipolytic activity. Glucose, yeast extract (YE), and NaCl were selected as the main efficient nutrient sources. Fed-batch fermentation using optimized medium with concentrated YE as the main feeding material showed a maximum lipolytic activity of 10.7 U/mL, which was a 21-fold increase in production over unoptimized flask culture conditions. The information obtained in the present study could prove applicable to the production of cold-active lipase on a large scale.

Enzymatic activity of fungi of the genus Candida isolated from the skin and the digestive tract in people and from municipal sewage

Enzymatic activities of <i>C. albicans, C. guilliermondii</i> and <i>C. tropicalis</i> from the skin and the digestive tract and from municipal sewage were compared using the API ZYM system (bio Méricux). Aclivities were examined in relalion to potential pathogenicity of these fungi strictly connected with their enzymatic properties, especilly the production of proteolytic and lipolytic enzymes, as well as acidic and basic phosphatase. The proteolytic activity was high in strains of <i>C. albicans</i> from the digestive tract and from municipal sewage, as we~ as in <i>C. guilliermondii</i> isolated from sewage. The highest lipolytic activity was recorded in the case of <i>C. guilliermondii</i> from sewage, and <i>C. albicans</i> and <i>C. tropicalis</i> from the digestive tract. Acidic and basic phosphatases and phosphohydrolase were secreted by strains of all species isolated from municipal sewage in the greatest degree (the only exception is a high activity of acidic phosphatase of <i>C. albicans</i> and <i>C. tropicalis</i> in the digestive tract). A higher enzymatic activity was observed in the same species in municipal sewage than in the human body.

Recovery of Extracellular Lipolytic Enzymes fromMacrophomina phaseolinaby Foam Fractionation with Air

Macrophomina phaseolina was cultivated in complex and simple media for the production of extracellular lipolytic enzymes. Culture supernatants were batch foam fractionated for the recovery of these enzymes, and column design and operation included the use of P 2 frit (porosity 40 to 100 μm), air as sparging gas at variable flow rates, and Triton X-100 added at the beginning or gradually in aliquots. Samples taken at intervals showed the progress of the kinetic and the efficiency parameters. Best results were obtained with the simple medium supernatant by combining the stepwise addition of small amounts of the surfactant with the variation of the air flow rates along the separation. Inert proteins were foamed out first, and the subsequent foamate was enriched in the enzymes, showing estimated activity recovery (R), enrichment ratio (E), and purification factor (P) of 45%, 34.7, and 2.9, respectively. Lipases were present in the enriched foamate.

A microorganism (strain AR1) producing an extracellular lipolytic enzyme was isolated from hot springs located in Beppu, Japan. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rDNA sequence and biochemical studies indicated that AR1 belongs to the genus Geobacillus. This study focused on novel strategies to increase extracellular lipolytic enzyme production by this novel Geobacillus sp. AR1. Cultures of the AR1 strain grew within a wide temperature range (from 35 to ); the optimum temperature was . The pH for optimal growth was 6.5, whereas the optimum pH for lipolytic enzyme production was 8.5. The presence of oils in the culture medium led to improvements in lipolytic enzyme activity. Soybean oil was the most efficient inducer, and it yielded better results when added in the exponential phase. On the other hand, the addition of chemical surfactants led to lipolytic enzyme production. Their addition to the culture could affect the location of the enzyme activity. The addition of Tween 20 in the stationary phase significantly increased the proportion of the extracellular enzyme activity. According to the results, following the addition of soybean oil and Tween 20 in the exponential and stationary phases, the extracellular lipolytic activity was increased 2.4-fold compared with that of a control.

Non-ionic polysorbate surfactants: Alternative inducers of medium-chain-length poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) (MCL-PHAs) for production of extracellular MCL-PHA depolymerases

The potential of non-ionic polysorbate surfactants as alternative inducers of medium-chain-length poly(3-hydroxyalkanoates) (MCL-PHAs) for the production of diverse bacterial MCL-PHA depolymerases was evaluated. When grown with corn oil as the sole carbon substrate, Pseudomonas alcaligenes LB19 preferentially produced lipolytic enzymes, but its MCL-PHA depolymerase was not induced by the substrate. However, the results of activity staining and sodium dodecyl sulfate–polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis clearly revealed that Tween 20 induced simultaneous production of lipolytic enzymes and the MCL-PHA depolymerase with the molecular mass (26.5kDa) of P. alcaligenes LB19, which has been previously identified. Moreover, the co-production of two functionally distinct hydrolytic enzymes induced by Tween 20 was commonly observed in various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria that were fed the substrate. Thus, it is expected that non-ionic polysorbate surfactants including Tween 20 can be widely exploited as promising universal substrates for the facile and efficient production of diverse MCL-PHA depolymerases.

Scaling-up the production of thermostable lipolytic enzymes from Thermus aquaticus YT1

The lipolytic enzymes synthesized by Thermusaquaticus YT1 present extremely interesting properties of thermostability (more than 70% of activity after 12 days at 80°C and a half-life time of 1 h at 95°C), which point out the interest of proposing efficient strategies to successfully tackle the scale-up of the production process. In this study,viable scaling-up of the production process was implemented,and relevant aspects affecting the enzyme synthesis, such as the mineral composition of the culture medium, the aeration and the agitation have been evaluated.A strategy combining the modification of the culture medium and the aeration degree was also approached by adding perfluorocarbons, compounds which improve the availability of oxygen in the culture medium. An opposite response of biomass and lipolytic activity to the aeration conditions was found between scales (about 600 U L(-1) at high aeration levels in flask vs. 150 U L(-1) at high aeration rates in reactor), which further demonstrates the important role of the hydrodynamic conditions on the suitable development of the biological process. In all cases, the cultures were kinetically characterized and the Luedeking and Piret model turned out to be a valuable tool to conclude that the produced lipolytic enzyme is a growth-associated metabolite, no matter the medium and the scale.

Diversity of plant oil seed-associated fungi isolated from seven oil-bearing seeds and their potential for the production of lipolytic enzymes

Commercial oil-yielding seeds (castor, coconut, neem, peanut, pongamia, rubber and sesame) were collected from different places in the state of Tamil Nadu (India) from which 1279 endophytic fungi were isolated. The oil-bearing seeds exhibited rich fungal diversity. High Shannon-Index H' was observed with pongamia seeds (2.847) while a low Index occurred for coconut kernel-associated mycoflora (1.018). Maximum Colonization Frequency (%) was observed for Lasiodiplodia theobromae (176). Dominance Index (expressed in terms of the Simpson's Index D) was high (0.581) for coconut kernel-associated fungi, and low for pongamia seed-borne fungi. Species Richness (Chao) of the fungal isolates was high (47.09) in the case of neem seeds, and low (16.6) for peanut seeds. All 1279 fungal isolates were screened for lipolytic activity employing a zymogram method using Tween-20 in agar. Forty isolates showed strong lipolytic activity, and were morphologically identified as belonging to 19 taxa (Alternaria, Aspergillus, Chalaropsis, Cladosporium, Colletotrichum, Curvularia, Drechslera, Fusarium, Lasiodiplodia, Mucor, Penicillium, Pestalotiopsis, Phoma, Phomopsis, Phyllosticta, Rhizopus, Sclerotinia, Stachybotrys and Trichoderma). These isolates also exhibited amylolytic, proteolytic and cellulolytic activities. Five fungal isolates (Aspergillus niger, Chalaropsis thielavioides, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Lasiodiplodia theobromae and Phoma glomerata) exhibited highest lipase activities, and the best producer was Lasiodiplodia theobromae (108U/mL), which was characterized by genomic sequence analysis of the ITS region of 18S rDNA.
