In general, the study was conducted to determine if transformational leadership of school principals of public secondary high schools in Region III. A total of 77 respondents participated in this study. The study covered all secondary public school principals. The survey questionnaire was utilized in gathering the data needed. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as frequency counts, percentage, mean and standard deviation. The age of the respondents ranged from 38 to 64 with a mean of 51.30 years old and a standard deviation of 6.46 years. Findings revealed that majority of the school principals were female, married, Ph.D. degree holders had less than 13 years of experience as a school principal, had been serving their school for five years or less, were holding Principal IV positions, were receiving a monthly salary of Php 65,319.00 – Php 73,157.00 (55.84 %) and had passed the National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH). From among the transformational leadership styles, the highest pooled mean was attained in inspirational motivation with a mean of x =4.41, described as frequently if not always (F), followed by idealized behavior and individualized consideration with a pooled mean of x = 4.26 (F) and x = 4.23 (F), respectively. The lowest pooled mean was obtained in idealized attribute with x = 4.06, school principals practiced it frequently if not always. The overall mean obtained was x =4.24, described as frequently if not always.
