Perception of chefs and the restaurants' management involved in menu planning on health and nutrition in Hungary

AbstractOur study aims to examine the perceptions of chefs and restaurants' management in Hungary regarding the importance of health and nutrition in menu planning in today's catering businesses. We assessed 190 complete responses from chefs/cooks and managers/owners of restaurants and catering businesses in Hungary between February 2021 and February 2022 via email on four aspects; health, nutrition, nutrition practice, and consumers' concerns. This study shows an overall improvement in chefs' and restaurants' management's nutritional knowledge compared with similar studies in the past. However, most chefs still believe that the customers ignore the nutrition and nutrient content of the meals when dining away from home. In addition, experienced chefs do not perceive that the preparation of low-fat foods requires additional work and that low fat-foods can taste great. This study found no significant differences related to nutrition in menu planning based on chefs' and managers' backgrounds (i.e., gender, age, position, educational level, work experience, and type and location of establishment).

Bridging knowledge divides: Examining the dynamic landscape of ICT integration in Pakistan’s education sector

This study delves into information technology's (ICT) effects on educational curriculum development, specifically focusing on the Pakistani context. The effects of information and communication technology (ICT) on various nations’ educational curricula are global. Integrating ICT into the academic sector is crucial to advancing educational planning in today's technology-driven era. The research aims to scrutinize the utilization and influence of ICT in Pakistan's educational landscape. A straightforward sampling procedure systematically gathered data from 385 Lahore city respondents spanning five public universities. The outcomes elucidate a substantial positive correlation between the availability and utilization of ICT and the enhancement of students' knowledge and learning skills. The study accentuates the pivotal role of ICT in amplifying educational efficiency and underscores its significance in shaping policies within the education sector. The ramifications of the research extend to educators, policymakers, and stakeholders, emphasizing the imperative need to integrate ICT into educational practices to achieve optimal outcomes effectively. By acknowledging the affirmative impact of ICT on academic development, this study contributes valuable insights that can guide strategies for elevating educational quality and planning in the digital age, ensuring a more robust and technology-enabled educational system. This suggests that integrating ICT positively impacts educational effectiveness and is essential for informing policies within the education sector.

The Essence of the Concept «Bioethical Views of Future Veterinary Students»

The article analyzes the key concepts of the study, including «bioethics», «bioethical principles», «bioethical rules», and «bioethical views of future veterinary students». Despite the fact that the concept of «bioethics» was introduced into scientific discourse as early as 1971, it is still insufficiently covered in domestic scientific literature. The analysis and interpretation of this concept allow it to be defined as a science that studies the moral foundations of human coexistence with all living beings, including animals. The study identifies the main bioethical principles in the context of the researched problem, such as: life as the highest value; love and care for all forms of life; justice; autonomy; responsibility towards nature; and humane treatment of animals. The article highlights the basic rules that a bioethical personality should follow (according to G. Hubenko), namely: 1) I recognize the need for urgent action in a world that is in crisis; 2) I accept the fact that the future survival and development of humanity largely depend on today's plans and actions; 3) I acknowledge the uniqueness of each individual; 4) I accept the inevitability of some human suffering; 5) I affirm my reverence for life. The analysis and generalization of the research results make it possible to define the concept of «Bioethical views of future veterinary students» as a system of knowledge about bioethical principles, rules, and values formed in students during their professional training, which expresses their attitude towards all living beings and will be implemented in future practice to resolve ethical dilemmas related to animal life and health.

On including assessments in the calculation of teaching loads.

Next to courses and seminars, tests and assessments represent the main parameters with which to describe an academic study program independent of its curricular content. Thus, the quality of education depends not only on the quality of the courses taught and how they are interconnected, but also on the quality of testing and the feedback given to students regarding their performance. Course quality should be ensured through course evaluation. The economic cost of courses is calculated based on the required teaching load. The concept of teaching load stems from the time when program planning was instructor-centered. The main variable in the rules and regulations governing university study was the number of hours per week per semester (or number of course hours). But even in today's student-centered planning, which uses ECTS credits per module as the variable, teaching loads are still used to determine the number of staff necessary to offer an academic study program. Some universities also include the assessments in the evaluation. Yet the economic costs of testing are de facto ignored almost everywhere, and this does not bode well for the quality of the assessments. Much progress would be made to improve higher education if assessments counted as part of the teaching loads and the curricular norm values. This paper identifies which requirements must be considered in order to include assessments in teaching loads.

Planning City Logistics Flexibility Using Sustainable Urban Logistics Plans

Planning for complex sustainability problems requires flexibility regarding regularly updated knowledge, mandates, and collaboration. Focussing on sustainable urban freight transport in plans, we investigate how urban logistics is accommodated in today's strategic plans in Norway and Poland. Based on plans from the most populated municipalities, we find flexibility in the type of plans and topics that frame sustainable urban logistics issues. We conclude that including urban logistics in strategic plans that are flexible and sustainable is more important to the municipalities than only adopting a separate sustainable urban logistics plan (SULP).

СТРАТЕГІЧНЕ УПРАВЛІННЯ ДІЯЛЬНІСТЮ ГРОМАДСЬКОЇ ОРГАНІЗАЦІЇ: ОСНОВНІ ЕЛЕМЕНТИ ТА МЕХАНІЗМИ

The relevance of the topic is determined by the need for democratization of society, which is manifested in civil initiatives, the creation of rural, urban and regional communities that take care of local self-government and become an effective force in making important political decisions. However, in connection with the unstable political and economic situation, in particular total quarantine restrictions and the war, it becomes necessary to implement strategic approaches to managing the activities of public organizations. It is strategic and operational planning in today's conditions that can ensure the stability of the activities of public organizations, and vectoriality for long-term functioning affects the formation of trust in society and local self-government structures. The purpose of the study is to justify the need to use strategic and operational planning in the activities of public organizations. The article indicates the goals and tasks of strategic planning of the activities of public organizations in the Ukrainian social and political conditions. Attention is focused on the fact that strategic planning is a process that takes place constantly, responding to the challenges of today and changes within the organization itself, therefore making adjustments is not only a natural phenomenon, but also necessary. The components of the strategic plan of the public organization were considered. A mechanism for implementing project management by public associations is proposed. The introduction of strategic and operational planning of the activities of public organizations will allow to maximize their efficiency, which in the future will give an opportunity to bring them to a new high-quality level of management.

A futurology of the sustainable development process of Hormozgan Province, Iran

Sustainable development has received unprecedented attention in the 21st century, necessitating meticulous planning and coordination across economic, social, and cultural domains to ensure equitable resource utilization for both current and future generations. This investigation centers on the sustainable development process in Hormozgan Province, utilizing a futurology approach to pinpoint influential factors in sustainability. Employing documentary and survey methods, the study collected data through questionnaires and interviews with development experts in the region. A mixed-methods analysis, integrating qualitative and quantitative techniques, was conducted, employing the MICMAC technique for data analysis and the Scenario wizard software to generate and evaluate scenarios. The research identified eight critical factors shaping the prospects of sustainable development in Hormozgan Province. These factors produced 27 probabilities, subsequently categorized into 12 plausible and 4 highly probable scenarios within the province's development plan. The probability analysis indicated a prevailing inclination towards desirable and ideal states in the realm of sustainable development for Hormozgan Province. This investigation contributes valuable insights into the landscape of sustainable development, underscoring the significance of addressing underlying factors for effective implementation. The identified factors and scenarios provide a roadmap for policymakers to foster sustainability and prosperity in Hormozgan Province. Ultimately, this research emphasizes the pressing need for sustainable development planning in today's world. By capitalizing on the potential of futurology and well-informed decision-making, Hormozgan Province can pave the way towards a sustainable future for its populace and future generations. The outcomes of this study call upon all stakeholders to collaborate responsibly, working towards a more sustainable and flourishing society.

Analysis of Path Planning Algorithms for Service Robots Applied in Indoor Environments

Path planning technology is one of the key issues in solving mobile robot navigation technology. On the basis of traditional path planning algorithms, a large number of algorithms have been improved and applied to achieve better results, like fireworks algorithm, ant colony algorithm, A* algorithm, particle swarm algorithm, genetic algorithm, firefly algorithm, and artificial potential field method. The optimization and improvement of algorithms have made today's path planning technology more comprehensive and effectively improved the accuracy and efficiency of indoor service robot path planning. This article analyzes the development status of path planning technology for indoor environment service robot. Firstly, typical application scenarios are listed and the significance of path planning algorithms in them is introduced in combination with their application requirements. Then, some classic indoor scene path planning algorithms and improvement strategies are compared and analyzed. Finally, a summary and discussion of the above indoor environment intelligent robot path planning methods are presented.

When developing countries and developed countries in the international concept were examined from the point of view of educational perspectives, it was found that the importance given by developed countries to the development of programming and planning from the point of view of students was quite high compared to others. Since the center of the educational administration is the student at the triangulation point, the functioning of educational institutions must also be organized for students. The importance given to educators requires taking care of them and getting the highest efficiency from them, as well as the importance given to students requires taking care of them and getting the highest efficiency from them. This spiral of education reveals how important it is to improve the programming and planning of educational institutions. Therefore, the approaches adopted in the development of programming and planning in today's understanding of education, especially in the student-centered learning method, are concentrated on this axis. Clinical Treatment and Nursing Intervention Study of Clipping Treatment of Cerebral Aneurysm under the Health Model of Data Analysis.

Middle cerebral artery aneurysm is a common type of intracranial aneurysm in neurosurgery, accounting for about 20% of intracranial aneurysms, and is the third most common site of intracranial aneurysms. The surgical success rate and postoperative recovery ability of today's treatment plans are not satisfactory. Therefore, this paper designs a health model based on data analysis to clinically apply clipping surgery for cerebral aneurysm. This paper studies data analytics health models in the context of big data analytics. The model combines the characteristics of cerebral aneurysms for targeted analysis, and then through the understanding of the clipping treatment of cerebral aneurysms, this paper combines the deep learning in the neural network to train the treatment plan under the data analysis health model. Finally, this paper designs a therapeutic plan for clipping treatment of cerebral aneurysm based on a data analysis health model. To verify its data analysis ability, this paper designs experiments on unbalanced data sets and experiments to improve the execution efficiency of the algorithm. After analyzing the results obtained from the experiment, this paper will apply them to the clinic. The final experiment showed that the surgical success rate of the clipping treatment for cerebral aneurysm based on the data analysis health model was increased by 21.84% compared with the traditional clipping treatment for cerebral aneurysm.

Pedestrian Wind Analysis for Indian Sub-Continent

Urbanization in India is causing local wind and climate changes near high-rise buildings, affecting the urban wind climate pedestrian-level winds to dangerous and uncomfortable levels. Hence, today's architectural planning Wind comfort has to not only consider the wind load and internal conditions, but also must consider the outdoor wind building design environment. This study reviewed the methods of evaluating pedestrian-level wind weather, different Wind tunnel test standards of wind comfort, and various techniques for evaluating pedestrian-level wind speed. In the CFD Numerical following section, a brief overview of the current research on this topic and the way forward in India is Modeling related to the design and configuration of windward buildings at the pedestrian level. After analysing the previous documents, the authors recommend it is very necessary to homogenize the various wind standards, as it might have different consequences for planers. Among the various wind tunnel experimental technologies, compared to the hot wire wind speed measurement method, the Irwin probe’s accuracy and simplicity is justified, and can be installed in multiple positions to measure wind speed horizontal of pedestrians at the same time. For the numerical simulation, several researchers have used the Renault medium Navier stokes-based technique, although the precision of this technique is not as good as the simulation of large eddies and the simulation of separate eddies. However, this technology is not only precise but also costs less due to its requirement of less computing resources.

Assessment of [Ru(bpy)2]3+and [Os(diars)2(bthp)]2+ for the electrochemiluminescence detection of gemcitabine and leucovorin toward diagnostic point-of-care sensors within precision medicine

With advances in medical understanding and pharmaceutical drug development a shift away from the traditional “one size fits all” approaches common place in today's treatment plans have been witnessed. Instead greater emphasis has been placed upon the development of personalised precision medicine, tailored to the individual and their disease characteristics. Although the fundamental knowledge is currently present for such a development, current health care practices do not possess the required resources to see such treatment plans implemented. As such the progress and implementation of precision medicine has stalled. Monitoring of the ADMET properties of a therapeutic species will ultimately aid in the progression of precision medicine in addition to drug development timelines. Within this contribution the development of an electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor to this end is discussed. Utilising cancer therapies gemcitabine hydrochloride (GMB) and leucovorin calcium (LV) as model compounds, the ability to use ECL for their detection down to a relevant therapeutic range (6.25–100 µM) via a portable sensing system is shown both within ideal and complex biological matrices. For the first time, GMB and LV are detected via ECL utilising both traditional and non-traditional luminophores, and demonstrated how the employment of alternative luminophores can circumvent competing side reactions preventing detection via the traditional ruthenium luminophores, previously rendering the species as unsuited for ECL monitoring. This approach successfully represents an initial concept proof for the utilisation of ECL sensors for monitoring of therapeutics within complex matrices and lays the initial foundations for wider employment of ECL sensors for medical diagnostics and precision medicine.

Маркетинговий менеджмент у системі стратегічного управління підприємствами торгівлі

Abstract. Introduction. The use of marketing management tools in the system of strategic management of trade enterprises allows to expand the potential of domestic trade enterprises in a changing environment and a high level of competition for consumer attention. Purpose. The purpose of the article is to implement marketing management tools in the activities of trade enterprises based on the principles of strategic management, the use of which will clarify the nature of strategic planning in today's changing environmental conditions. Results. The article proposes approaches to the implementation of marketing management tools in the activities of trade enterprises based on the principles of strategic management, the use of which allows to clarify the nature of strategic planning in today's changing environmental environment. The factors that emphasize the leading role of strategic management of modern enterprises in the field of trade and the principles that lie in the renewal of their long-term goals using available resources are highlighted. The modern tendencies which are characteristic of system of marketing management of the enterprises of trade and define efficiency of their activity are established. Emphasis is placed on the existence of marketing management attributes related to the management, marketing and economic performance of the enterprise. Conclusions. The study found that marketing management is a complex system with a large number of structured parts, interconnected and aimed at ensuring the stability of all areas of trade in modern market conditions. The directions of practical use of marketing approaches to management of activity of the enterprises of trade on an example of successfully operating representatives of branch are formed. Thus, the proposed toolkit will allow domestic trade representatives to formulate the most effective strategy for further development and further development in the current and future period.

Village Development Planning in The Digital Era: The Role and Interest of Stakeholders in Kotaagung, Tanggamus Regency

This study aims to describe the planning process of village development in the digital era, focusing on the dynamics of stakeholder roles and interests. From descriptive qualitative research methods, village development planning in the digital era flows under the Ministry of Home Affairs Regulation No. 114/2014 and Law No. 6 of 2014. Furthermore, the dynamics of the planning process are more flexible with the role of media and technology sophistication. In the digital era, the village development planning process, especially in Kotaagung Sub-district villages, Tanggamus Regency, Lampung, is swift, which cuts bureaucracy and stagnated planning stages. Moreover, invitations to the village deliberations are conveyed in writing, a process that only fulfills administrative matters for archiving. Massive invitations are delivered through the devices of stakeholders deemed essential to be presented to determine development priorities. The dynamics of stakeholder and media are seen from the movement and correlation of roles, interests, and influences. That shows stakeholders are the main subject in village development planning in today's digital era. Therefore, the Village needs to respond to the changing times by planning and implementing the system with digitization in a systematic and applicable manner.

STRATEGIC PLANNING FOR STRENGTHENING THE COMPETITIVENESS OF THE REAL SECTOR OF THE ECONOMY

Introduction. Strategic planning in today's conditions of global uncertainty is one of the key values for economic development and strengthening its competitiveness. Setting priorities, developing policy documents and setting targets is a particularly important task for implementation in programs to support the real sector of the economy. The formation of concepts and strategies for the development of various sectors of the economy in the context of constant transformation is one of the priorities for preparing a strategic vision for the development of the national economy. Thus, the prerequisites for the formation of strategic directions for strengthening the competitiveness of the national economy with an emphasis on the development of the real sector of the economy were analysed. The purpose of the article is to form proposals for the development of priority areas of the strengthening competitiveness strategy, in particular, in the real sector of the economy. Results. Based on the analysis of the latest strategic documents adopted in Ukraine in 2020, the strategic priorities for the development of competitive advantages are identified. It is proposed to supplement each of the areas with potentially necessary policy documents and policies: in the field of information security, national security, cybersecurity, human development, economic security. Targets that should be used as indicators of achieving strategic goals, including key productivity, foreign direct investment, nominal GDP per capita, exports of goods and services, are settled. Conclusions. Recommendations for improving the business climate, minimizing corruption at all levels of government, developing transport infrastructure, financial incentives for cooperation and support of science and research in firms, universities and public research institutes, emphasising of the state educational component on market needs for priority implementation at the level of state policy will be a prerequisite for strengthening the competitiveness and security of the real sector of the economy. These priority areas of support for the real sector of the economy have significant emphasis on capacity development: human, innovative, creative, which further enhances the importance of creative industries, which can be one of the locomotives of strategic breakthrough in economic policy. Emergent Urbanism & Beyond: Times of Transformation and Paradigm Shifts with a Twist on Heritage Urbanism

This paper is the product of reflections on the consequences of the latest discoveries of Emergent Urbanism that the authors identify as the specific issue dominating today's urban planning and urban design discourse, arguing that urban planning and design not only results from deliberate planning and design measures, but how these combine with infrastructure planning, and derive from economic, social and spatial processes of structural change. In the paper we reflectively also discuss ideas about urban heritage, urban planning & design, and how heritage and planning & design can contribute to urban development. Urban heritage is understood as an infrastructure comparable with other infrastructures that provide an arena for urban planning & design and urban social and economic development. Moreover, the paper includes a remodeled and novel, short discussion and standpoint about five contemporary urban planning & design ideals that dominate the contemporary planning & design discourse, and their different views of the past and urban heritage. The paper concludes that in any given situation and context, the dominating urban planning & design ideal define the specific urban heritage, and, thus, influence how we will understand the past—today and in the future but also the paper maintains that, we must equally recognize how forces of economic, social and spatial structural change contribute to shaping the contemporary urban landscape.

CHANGES AND TRANSFORMATIONS IN THE SPACE OF BIG CITIES. ANALYSIS AND ACCOUNTING IN THE JUSTIFICATION OF DEVELOPMENT WAYS

The city in today's urban planning is treated as a dynamic, flexible and ergatic (capable of self-organization) system. The author distinguishes between the concepts of urban planning and urban development: urban planning — the fundamental science of urban research, identification of fundamental laws and patterns of their functioning and development; urban development is an applied activity (construction) related to solving project tasks. The article clarifies the content of the concepts: changes, transformations in the context of the provisions of metabolism, which determine changes in the structure and processes in cities, determine their viability and the basis of development. It is argued that the cause of today's problems are philosophical and ideological errors and the need to form a new philosophy of human existence, which should be based on finding a balance between man and nature, present and future, change and stability, private and common, and the priority of gender, religious and economic equality.Trends, processes and problems of urban functioning are analyzed, in particular: growth of economic advantages of urbanization, increase of concentration of riches in cities; the dominance of the influence of material factors on urban development; aging of engineering infrastructure and difficulties of its development; increasing uneven settlement of population within cities and regions; change of relations of the city with the environment, etc. The importance is emphasized and some provisions of the methodology of analysis of processes and changes in cities, their consideration in the substantiation of town-planning decisions are substantiated.The requirements of system, sustainability and prospects of urban development, which are united by the concept of regenerative urbanization and circulatory metabolism, are substantiated. Local recommendations for the development of Lviv are given, which include: optimization of urban settlement systems in the region and the city's relations with the environment; equalization of spatial accessibility conditions; improving the safety of the environment and protecting the city from natural and man-made disasters; improvement of management systems and mechanisms at different levels, etc. The task to continue the study of processes, changes and transformations in cities is outlined.

Process of Incorporation and Morphological Transformations of Rural Settlement Patterns in the Context of Urban Development. The Case Study of Łódź

AbstractThe subject of the research covers the problem of morphological changes in former villages incorporated into the city on the example of Łódź. The first objective of the article is to analyse the urban development of the city, taking into account the territorial changes and incorporation of villages. The second objective includes the analysis of morphological changes in former villages that have taken place after their incorporation into the city since the mid-twentieth century. The study required analysis of source materials in the form of preserved historical maps and today's plans, legal acts, planning documents and chosen statistical data. The analysis of changes in the spatial structure of villages incorporated into the city was possible mainly thanks to the retrogressive, as well as progressive method. The article also uses the method of morphological analysis of the city plan based on the Conzenian tradition of urban morphology. The study applies the typology of rural settlement patterns, taking into account the issue of morphological changes and relics of morphological features from the period before the incorporation into the city. It is characteristic that the transformation process of rural settlement patterns took place in different ways and with various intensity depending mostly on the scale of urbanisation processes. It was possible to distinguish the orthomorphic transformations, where all spatial modifications were mainly additions and did not destroy the morphogenetic core, so the former layouts have been preserved almost completely, semi-metamorphic transformations, where spatial reorganisation was considerable, but not total, and clear relics of the historical rural settlement pattern have been saved, and metamorphic transformations, in which almost all elements of the former morphological structure have been completely erased and the former layouts have been totally changed.

The Sarno Baths in Pompeii: Context and state of the art

Abstract The Sarno Bath complex (Regio VIII, Insula 2, modern house nos. 17–21) occupies the southernmost part of the city of Pompeii and it is unique in terms of size, architectural structure and functional aspects. The analysis of all published studies and documentation, available in the archives of the Archaeological Park of Pompeii, was the starting point of the project and it allowed to retrace the history of excavation and research from 1887 to this day. The study of Mau's and Sogliano's publications have led to know the course of excavations, the finds brought to light, the first functional interpretations of the building, its architectural evolution and, overall, a major structural failure that involved the westernmost part of the building. Because of this collapse, most of the vaults and the walls of levels −3 and −4 were reconstructed and the decorative apparatus was relocated. In the past decades, the research has focused on refining the interpretation of the first scholars in terms of construction techniques, usually with the goal of dating in absolute terms the architectural development, of defining the decorative apparatus and the function of each level, the ownership and the usability of the building, themes still unsolved. Unfortunately, most recent studies did not give due attention to the reconstruction carried out at the end of nineteenth century. Some examinations notice the different building materials, but they do not doubt the originality of today's plan. Some others relegate this news to the margin.

Periodic railway timetabling with sequential decomposition in the PESP model

With continuously increasing capacity utilization of railway networks as well as growing requirements on service quality and reliability, railway timetabling is becoming increasingly difficult. Although most timetables are still constructed manually in practice, the demand for advanced automatic timetabling techniques is evident. Long computation times, however, are a major impediment for the use of optimization-based timetabling tools within today's planning process. Focusing on the construction of periodic timetables via the periodic event scheduling problem (PESP), the paper introduces a new decomposition technique to speed up automatic timetabling. The approach is based on solving a sequence of smaller subproblems and can be parameterized to reach a suitable compromise between the two extremes of either simultaneous or sequential planning. Computational results on large timetabling instances for Switzerland's railway network show very promising results. In particular, finding feasible as well as near optimal timetables can be considerably accelerated compared to solving the PESP using the standard MILP formulation.
