Investigation of the chemical and biological composition of the medicinal plant juzgun leucocladum-for further production of an antibacterial veterinary drug

Juzgun (лат. Calligonum) is a genus of perennial deciduous branching shrubs from the Buckwheat family (лат. Polygonaceae). According to some data, up to 158 plants are included in the genus, but since the genus is poorly studied, the definition of the species included in it is considered inaccurate. Moreover, some scientists claim that it is impossible because of multiple morphological differences that do not have geographical certainty. Tannins, citric and phenolic carboxylic acids, alkaloids, leucoanthocyanidins, flavonoids were found in the chemical composition of plants from the genus Juzgun. Plants from the genus Juzgun can potentially serve as a source of medicinal raw materials. Scientists have found phenolcarbonic acids in them, which have a choleretic effect, acting as a hypotensive agent. Antitumor effect is endowed not only with the leucoanthocyanidins present in the representatives of the genus, but also a number of flavonoids.We have investigated the chemical composition and identification of biologically active compounds in the vegetable raw materials of the Juzgun leucocladum. Physico-chemical studies have been carried out. The elemental composition of raw materials has been determined.The morphology of the raw materials was investigated, and the amino acid composition of the raw materials was also determined. The first samples of a veterinary drug based on Juzgun plant raw materials and phytosorbents for veterinary purposes were obtained and sent for clinical research.

BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES OF AGASTACHE RUGOSA (LAMIACEAE), INTRODUCED IN WESTERN SIBERIA

The report presents the results of the study of the chemical composition of of biologically active substances of various parts and organs of Agastache rugosa introduced in Western Siberia. Agastache rugosa were collected by the authors in July-August 2021–2022 in the territories of Tomsk regions. Water and water-alcohol extracts were obtained from raw materials. The studies was conducted using PC, TLC, UV-spectroscopy, titrimetry. The component composition of the essential oil was studied by GLC-MS on the gas chromatograph Agilent 6890 with quadrupole mass spectrometer (HP MSD 5973N). About 50 individual components were found, 30 of them for the first time. Vitamins (ascorbic acid, carotenoids), polysaccharides, phenolic compounds (flavonoids, phenolcarbonic acids, tannins), essential oil were found in all organs of the plant. Saponins are present in flowers and herbs, but not found in fruits. The presence of acacetin, apigenin, quercetin, tilianine, rosemary acid, caffeic acid, chlorogenic acid was found. The difference in the content of biologically active substances in different organs was established. The dominant groups in different parts and organs of the plant are essential oil, phenol carboxylic acids, carotenoids, ascorbic acid. Flavonoids and chlorophyll in all organs of this species belong to the group of minor BAS.

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi L. leaves extract and its modified cysteine preparation for the management of insulin resistance: chemical analysis and bioactivity

Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi L.) is a perennial plant of the heather family (Ericaceae). The leaves are dominated by arbutin, phenol carbonic acids flavonoids, saponins, etc. It was previously shown that the bearberry leaves extract reduced blood glucose level in healthy animals under glucose overload, so it need to be studied more detail. The aim of the study was to investigate the chemical composition and the effect of dry alcohol extract from bearberry leaves, which enriched with cysteine, on the rats pancreas under experimental dexamethasone-induced insulin resistance (IR). Arctostaphylos uva-ursi L. leaves extract and its modified cysteine preparation were obtained according to the developed method with 50% ethanol solution. Their phytochemical profile, hypoglycaemic and pancreatic protective effect were investigated. Phenologlycoside (arbutin), phenolic carboxylic acid (gallic acid), 5 flavonoids and 4 hydroxycinnamic acids were identified and quantified in the extracts by HPLC. Present data revealed that bearberry leaves alcoholic dry extract enriched with cysteine has a hypoglycaemic and pancreatic protective effect in treated animals under dexamethasone-induced IR model. THE STUDY OF NETTLE HERB (URTICA DIOICA L.) GROWING IN SOME AREAS OF THE EUROPEAN RUSSIA AND SIBERIA

The report presents the results of the study of the chemical composition of nettle herb, 40%, 70% extracts, and extracts of polyphenolic complexes (PPC). Nettle herb were collected by the authors in June-July 2007–2020 in the territories of Tomsk, Kemerovo, Kursk, Novosibirsk, Moscow, Kirov, Tver regions, Altai and Krasnoyarsk Krai; Altai Republic. Extracts, polyphenolic and polysaccharide complexes were obtained from the herb. The studies was conducted using PC, TLC, UV-spectroscopy, HPLC, titrimetry, neutron activation. Reverse-phase HPLC were carried out on a chromatograph «Dionex Ultimate 3000» with UV-detector in the wave length range from 254 to 330 nm. Separation was performed by a column with reversed-phase sorbent «Restek Pinnacle IIC18» (150×4.6 mm, particle size 5 µm), flow rate of mobile phase is 1 ml/min; temperature is 20 °C, mobile phase (50 ml of acetonitrile, 50 ml of 0.1% trifluoroacetic acid) were carried out on. The study showed that nettle herb, 40%, 70% extracts and PPC contain phenolic compounds: phenolcarbonic acids, flavonoids, catechins, tannins; vitamin C and pigments. Baicalein, chrysoeriol, scutellarin identified for the first time. One of the dominant groups is hydroxycinnamic acids. The composition of flavonoids, phenolic carboxylic acids, catechins, hydroxycinnamic acids, including chlorogenic acid, chlorophyll, the sum of phenolic compounds, catechins are similar in 70% extract and its PPC. Additional information was obtained on the elements contained in nettle herb and its extracts.

CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF METABOLITES OF SPECIES OF THE GENUS ARCTIUM L.

The review summarizes information from the literature on the distribution, study of the composition and biological activity of metabolites, total extracts of plants of the genus Arctium L. of the world flora. In Russia, the roots of three species are allowed to be harvested and used: A. lappa, A. tomentosum, A. minus. To date, the most studied composition of metabolites and pharmacological properties of great burdock. The chemical composition of A. atlanticum, A. debrayi, A. leiobardanum, A. neumani, A. platylepis, A. pseudarctium, A. sardaimionense, A. scanicum, A. nemorosum and A. palladini has not been studied. About 360 substances related to polysaccharides, sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, fatty acids, phenolcarbonic acids, tannins, vitamins, lignans, sterols, polyacetylenes, amino acids, alkaloids, flavonoids, macro-and microelements and other were isolated and identified from the studied species. There are only a few publications about pharmacological activity of Arctium nemorosum, A. palladini, A. tomentosum and A. minus, and there is no information for other types. Total extracts and individual compounds of the studied burdock species in the experiment have a wide range of pharmacological activity. The information provided in the review shows that plants of the genus Arctium L., are promising for creating effective medicines. In addition, the fragmentation and lack of information on the composition of metabolites, pharmacological activity of most species of the genus burdock opens up great opportunities for researchers.

Influence of Phenolcarbonic Acids on Daphnia magna Straus Fertility

The influence of phenolcarbonic acids belonging to hydroxy-cynnamic (coumaric and caffeic acids) and hydroxy-benzoic (salicylic and gallic acids) groups on the survival and fertility rate of Daphnia magna (Crustacea) was studied under experimental conditions. It has been found that the inhibitory or stimulating effects of phenolcarbonic acids did not depend on their affiliation to the specified chemical group. The highest fertility of D. magna was observed at the concentration of caffeic acid of 0.4-0.8 mg/L. Gallic acid (0.8 mg/L) moderately stimulated this process. Coumaric and salicylic acids (0.1-3.2 mg/L) did not influence or inhibited D. magna fertility. At the same time, the survival of its descendants was not impacted, which suggests that crustaceans possess specific and effective mechanisms of adaptation to the increased content of phenolcarbonic acids in the aquatic environment. Thus, phenolcarbonic acids can be used for increasing the productivity of Crustacea by means of a direct targeted impact on their metabolic processes.

Some aspects of flavonoid biosynthesis and accumulation in buckwheat plants

The buckwheat is a plant species with a high ability to produce secondary metabolites such as flavonoids. Together with rutin, the dominant flavonoid of the Fagopyrum Mill genus representatives (The Common buckwheat (F. esculentum Moench), the Tartary buckwheat (F. tataricum (L.) Gaertn.) and the Perennial buckwheat (F. cymosum Meissn.)), quercetin, vitexin, quercitrin, orientin, anthocyanides, phenolcarbonic acids and other compounds were found in buckwheat plants. Due to their considerable reactivity, flavonoids participate in the processes of photosynthesis, respiration, growth, reproduction and defence against different stresses. The purpose of this article is to overview the processes of flavonoid biosynthesis and accumulation during the growth and development stages of buckwheat plants under the influence of external factors regarding its species diversity. Flavonoids content and induction were examined in vitro culture.

Phenolic Compounds and Antioxidant Potential of Wild-Growing Plant Materials of the North Caucasus Region

The article presents the results of studying the qualitative composition and quantitative content of some groups of phenolic compounds in 11 types of medicinal plants growing in the foothills of the North Caucasus, and provides the estimates of the antioxidant activity of extracts from these plants. The qualitative and quantitative content of phenolic compounds was determined using a Kapel-105M capillary electrophoresis system, and the total antioxidant activity of the extracts was measured on a Tsvet Yauza-01-AA device with an amperometric detector. In the studied plant samples, the total content of tannins was determined, eight phenolcarbonic acids were identified and quantified, as well as quercetin and rutin — two of the most important flavonols. The highest total content of phenolcarbonic acids (11,776.2 mg/kg), as well as the highest antioxidant activity were noted in the aqueous extract obtained from Echinacea purpurea (lat. Echinacea angustifolia). The direct relationship between the antioxidant activity of the studied medicinal raw material and the content of phenolic compounds has been experimentally established as follows: the higher is the concentration of phenolic substances, the higher is the antioxidant activity. The results of this study provide new information on the composition and content of phenolic compounds in some types of wild-growing plant raw materials of the North Caucasus and the antioxidant activity of extracts based thereon that will facilitate the use of the studied plants as a potential source of natural antioxidants in the production of functional materials.

BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES EXHIBITING ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY, SOME REPRESENTATIVES OF THE LAMIACEAE FAMILY CULTIVATED IN THE STAVROPOL REGION

The object of the study was the samples of raw materials of the family Lamiaceae plants created in FSBSI "North Caucasus Federal agricultural research center", using a variety of breeding methods: Salvia Officinalis Leaves (cultivar "Dobrynya"), Origanum Vulgare Herb (cultivar "Karamelka"), Salvia Sclarea Herb (cultivar "Salyut"), Satureja Hortensis Herb (cultivar "Karapuz"), Lophanthus Anisatus Herb (cultivar "Premier"), Hyssopus Officinalis Herb (cultivar "Rozovy flamingo"). As a result of the studies conducted by the method of high-performance liquid chromatography, the component composition of phenolic compounds (flavonoids and phenolcarbonic acids) was established. The quantitative content of essential oil, flavonoids and tannins was determined in the studied objects. In salvia officinalis leaves identified 11 phenolic compounds, 2.72% essential oil, 1.22% flavonoids, 12.20% tannins; in origanum vulgare herb – 9 compounds, 1.80% essential oil, 2.10% flavonoids, 8.64% tannins; in salvia sclarea herb – 11 compounds, 0.45% essential oil, 2.25% flavonoids, 10.51% tannins; in satureja hortensis herb – 11 compounds, 0.68% essential oil, 0.85% flavonoids, 9.37% tannins; in lophanthus anisatus herb – 11 compounds, 2.15% essential oil, 2.06% flavonoids, 8.30% tannins; in hyssopus officinalis herb – 9 compounds, 0.78% essential oil, 0.91% flavonoids, 9.55% tannins. Determination of antioxidant activity, conducted in two ways (amperometric and titrimetric) showed that water-alcohol extraction of plant raw materials of new varieties of representatives of the family Lamiaceae, created and maximally adapted to the conditions of Stavropol region can be the basis for the production of herbal remedies with antioxidant activity.

Research of the phenolcarboxylic acids of Helichrysum bracteatum

Topicality. The pharmaceutical industry requires an increase in the range and quantity of medicinal plants to produce new effective drugs. Drugs made on the basis of medicinal plants have a diverse and multifactorial pharmacological action. Expanding the range of medicinal plants, primarily due to the study of medicinal plants, widely used in traditional medicine, and plants systematically close to officinal plants. Phenolcarbonic acids have a high pharmacological effect and can be important as independent biologically active substances for medicines. In this regard, a special interest is the search for plants that contain a high content of phenol carboxylic acids, while having an extensive raw material base.Aim. To study phenol carboxylic acids in herbal drugs of immortelle (Helicrysum bracteatum) by paper-, TLC andHPLC.Materials and methods. For the study, the herbal drugs of the immortelle was used. The analysis was carried outseparately in the flowers and herb of the plant. To identify phenolcarboxylic acids in the objects under study, 50 % aqueousalcoholic extracts were used, which were subjected to chromatographic analysis using thin-layer chromatography. For HPLC analysis, chromatography was performed on an Agilent Technologies 1200 liquid chromatograph. Methanol and a 0.1 % solution of formic acid in water were used as the mobile phase.Results and discussion. As a result of the analysis, 8 phenolcarboxylic acids were determined in the herbal drugs under investigation: gallic, hydroxyphenyl acetic, caffeic, coumarovic, ferulic, synapic, cinamic, quinic acids. At the same time, quinic acid (33.11 %), synapic acid (29.91 %) and coumaric acid (20.55 %) are in large quantities in flowers, and quinic acid (85.23 %) is the main herb among phenol carboxylic acids. The remaining phenol carboxylic acids are contained in much smaller quantities.Conclusions. For the first time, a study was conducted on the qualitative composition and content of herb phenolcarboxylic acids and flowers of immortelle bracts using TLC and HPLC methods. The data obtained from this study indicate the promise of further phytochemical studies of the immortelle of the bracts and the development on its basis of new drugs and dietary supplements.

Analysis and Identification of Flavanoids and Phenolcarbonic Acid in Extract Plant of <i>Clinopodium vulgare</i>

Among the plants used by Bulgarian plants traditional medicine is Clinopodium vulgare L. (Lamiaceae). The aim of this study is to identify natural substances like some flavanoids and phenolcarbonic acids discovered in the plant with another technic because of Phenol carbonic acids. Instrumentation: The chromatographic studies were performed on a liquid chromatography. The identification of the components was carried out according to the spectral modifications after addition of the reagents of standard shifts. The results presented in this report seemed appropriate for the identification of flavonoids and phenol carbonic acids in extracts of Clinopodium vulgare.

Phenolic antioxidants in red dessert wine produced with innovative technology

Abstract Phenolic compounds of red wines, catechins, flavonols, phenolcarbonic acids, anthocyanins, resveratrol are characterized by high antioxidanat activity and sharply reduce the risk of numerous diseases. Nowadays an increasing demand on red wines in the world market is conditioned by their antioxidant effect. However, according to antioxidanat activity those red wines are distinguished which are characterized with high content of phenolic compounds. Their concentration in wine depends on the vine growing place, grape cultivar, techniques of fermentative maceration. We have developed innovative technology for red dessert wine, with the aim of enrichment with antioxidant phenolic compounds. Object for the study: Control and test red dessert wine samples prepared from Saperavi grape cultivar. Control sample were prepared according to the existing technology; test – using maceration techniques in separately and combination, that are: saignee, dry fermentation of the pulp, fortification of the fermented pulp up to 16% (vol.) and staying for a week. By means of the HPLC analysis we determined the amount of phenolics. It has been observed that the concentration of phenolic antioxidants is most of all increased by in the test sample when combination use of maceration techniques: saignee and dry fermentation of the remaining pulp. In comparison with the control increases content phenolics: (−)–epicatechin, quercetin–3–glucoside and caffeic acid – 5–times; ellagic acid – 4–times; t-caftaric acid – 2– times; syringic acid – by 65%; (+)–catechin – by 40%.

НАКОПЛЕНИЕ ФЕНОЛЬНЫХ СОЕДИНЕНИЙ В НАДЗЕМНЫХ ОРГАНАХ ВОЛОДУШКИ КОЗЕЛЕЦЕЛИСТНОЙ (BUPLEURUM SCORZONERIFOLIUM WILLD.), ПРОИЗРАСТАЮЩЕЙ В ПРИБАЙКАЛЬЕ

A plant of the genus Bupleurum L. is being introduced into medical practice and being used in traditional medicine as an anti-inflammatory agent in diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, treatment of diseases of the liver and gall bladder. In folk medicine, infusionfrom the herb Bupleurum scorzonerifolium Willd. is used externally for inflammatory diseases of the eyes and skin diseases. B. scorzonerifolium is widespread and abundantly grows in the area of Ural Mountains, Altai, Tuva, in the Krasnoyarsk region, Baikal region, and Buryatia. Detection of phenolic compounds in B. scorzonerifolium was performed using qualitative analytical reactions. Studying the composition of flavonoids and phenol carbonic acids was carried out by paper chromatography. We established that the leaves of B. scorzonerifolium contain quercetin, kaempferol, rutin, hyperoside and isorhamnetin, stems - quercetin, kaempferol, rutin and isorhamnetin, flowers - quercetin, hyperoside and rutin. The leaves, flowers and stems found to contain caffeic, chlorogenic and ferulic acids. The quantitative content of tannins was determined by permanganometry method, flavonoids and phenol carbonic acids -by spectrophotometric method. The maximum quantity of phenolic compounds is detected in leaves and flowers. Thus, as a medicinal plant, the grass B. scorzonerifolium can be recommended for harvesting during the flowering period.

LOTUS CORNICULATUS L. IS A PERSPECTIVE SPECIES OF THE GENUS LOTUS L.

These materials contain an overview of the most significant publications on the hare (Lotus corniculatus L.) – one of the species of the genus Lotus L., widespread in the territory of the Russian Federation, both in the wild and in culture. The prospect of Lotus corniculatus is confirmed by information about its extensive range of information about the use in the folk medicine of many countries, veterinary science, resistance to disease, the ability to grow and give high yields on different types of soils, high fodder value and melliferous value. Chemical composition of wild and cultivated of Lotus corniculatus was studied in detail. The horned lamb is a rich source of biologically active substances: proteins, polysaccharides, alkaloids, steroids, phytoalexins, saponins, tannins, flavonoids, isoflavones, phenolcarbonic acids, derivatives of anthracene, macro - and micronutrients. The diverse chemical composition of the lapwing explains the wide range of its pharmacological activity (antimicrobial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiparasitic, wound-healing, antiproliferative), use in agriculture, folk medicine, veterinary medicine, cosmetology, and also substantiates the perspectivity of the species for further scientific and practical phytochemical and pharmacological research.

Study of the antioxidant activity and total polyphenol concentration of medicinal plants

Infusions of medicinal plants are investigated by potentiometry using a system of K3[Fe(CN)6]/K4[Fe(CN)6]. Models of some flavonoids, phenol carbonic acids, ascorbic acid, and their mixtures are studied. The total polyphenol concentration in these samples is determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu method. Dependences of antioxidant activity on extraction time are obtained.

PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS CONTENT IN FRUITS OF DIFFERENT EGGPLANT SPECIES: S. MELONGENA L., S. AETHIOPICUM L. AND S. MACROCARPON L. - IN THE TEMPERATE CLIMATE

In the genus Solanum there are a number of less common vegetables. S. aethiopicum L. and S. macrocarpon L. are a two popular species of eggplant, traditionally grown in tropical Africa. The object of research was breeding lines and hybrids of S. melongena L. and accessions of S. aethiopicum and S. macrocarpon. Plants were grown in condition of low-capacity hydroponics according to all agrotechnical requirements. The fruits for analysis were collected from one layer of plants at the phase of technical maturity. Phenolic compounds are unique secondary metabolites that are synthesized in all plant cells and have increasingly wide application in pharmacology and medicine. Flavonoids was in the range of 0.7-1.1% in lines and F1 hybrids of S. melongena, however more flavonoids was obtained in the African eggplant accessions, such as S. aethiopicum L., 1,4% and S. macrocarpon L., 1.2%. The total content of phenolic compounds was in the range of 1.7-2.3% in the pulp of S. melongena L. fruits. The total content of phenol carbonic acids ranged from 1.0-1.5% in the lines and hybrids F1 studied, as referred to S. melongena. The content of phenol carbonic acids is higher from 1.5% to 1.8% in S. aethiopicum and S. macrocarpon. In the pulp of the interspecific hybrid fruits the total content of flavonoids and phenol carbonic acids was 2.6-2.7% that was 1.5 times as much as in S. melongena.

DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY FOR DRY EXTRACT OF GRASS HARROW THE FIELD

The urgency of developing a drug laxative action of grass harrow the field in the form of dry extract. A quantification of the active ingredients – phenolic compounds of a dry extract of grass harrow causing its laxative effect. The total content of phenolic compounds (isoflavones, flavonoids, phenolcarbonic acids) in phytopreparations harrow was about 25 %.

Direct Coupling of HPTLC with MALDI-TOF MS for Qualitative Detection of Flavonoids on Phytochemical Fingerprints.

Thin layer chromatographic fingerprints of plant raw materials and extracts for food and pharma applications often focus on phenol carbonic acids and flavonoids. The visual detection and comparison of Rf values of applied reference substances only renders limited phytochemical information. Recently, direct coupling of TLC with MALDI-TOF MS has been successfully applied for analysis of biologically relevant compounds such as lipids. The mass analysis of low molecular weight TLC or HPTLC fingerprints of flavonoids has, to our knowledge, not yet been investigated. In this study, the feasibility of direct coupling of HPTLC with UV-MALDI-TOF MS for determination of molecular mass of the ubiquitously present flavonol glycoside, rutin, and flavone glycoside, luteolin-7-O-glucoside, as well as their corresponding aglycones, quercetin and luteolin, is demonstrated. HPTLC plate suitable for combination with a MALDI MS adapter was used for chromatographic separation of compounds of interest. After separation, the plate was sprayed with 2,5 dihydroxybenzoic acid as a MALDI matrix using an automated spraying device. After drying, the developed chromatograms were scanned by UV-MALDI-TOF MS in positive mode with a spatial resolution of 0.2mm. All compounds studied were distinctly detected in MALDI-TOF mass spectra. This is particularly pertinent for the co-eluted aglycones luteolin and quercetin, which could not have been distinguished by the common visual HPTLC derivatisation and evaluation. This study demonstrates the potential of MALDI-TOF MS for the analysis of low molecular weight fingerprints of flavonoids directly from their HPTLC chromatogram. DETERMINATION OF ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY IN COLOR PLANT EXTRACTS IN VITRO G.R. Lamazian, I.M. Sytnik, P.A. Chernovol, I.S. Chekman, M.V. Khaitovych Bogomolets National Medical University, Kyiv Introduction. To date, the relationship between free radical oxidation and the development of most pathological processes - endocrinology and cardiovascular diseases is proved. Modern living conditions, the negative impact of environmental factors, emotional stresses, genetic factors - all these are a prerequisite for initiating redox balance disturbances in the body. A key role in this regard belongs to reactive oxygen species (ROS), which cause development of oxidative stress (OS). Recently, the antioxidant properties of medicinal plants (MP) in the prevention and correction of the OS are actively studied. It is commonly known that MP is a source of polyphenolic compounds - powerful natural antioxidants that inhibit free radical oxidation chain reaction through inhibition of oxidative enzymes, the formation of metal chelates or neutralization of radicals. The aim of this work was to study the antioxidant activity (AOA) of Hypericum perforatum (L.) and Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Shrad. extracts on the model of superoxide radical inhibition in vitro. Determination of AOA was carried out spectrophotometrically according to the change in absorbance of studied extracts in a model test system of adrenaline autoxidation in an alkaline medium at a wavelength of 340 nm. Assessment of AOA was conducted by the degree of inhibition of superoxide radical, taking into account the impact of extracts’ color that absorbs certain wavelength in the visible spectrum. Results and discussion. Investigated extracts show high AOA in a range of all concentrations, preventing the formation of superoxide radical in vitro. It was somewhat higher in H. perforatum versus C. colocynthis. It should be noted that the AOA of extracts depends on their concentration. The highest value of AOA for H. perforatum (95,77%) is detected at a concentration of 0.5 mg/ml. C. colocynthis showed maximum AOA (88.62%) at a concentration of 0,5˟10-3 mg/ml. Values of absorbance after ten minutes exposure indicate that with time the AOA of extracts decreases due to their multi-component composition and interinfluence of biologically active substances, which can be both antagonists and synergists. It is known that the antioxidant effect of MP is achieved due to nonenzymatic molecules represented mainly by polyphenolic compounds – flavonoids, phenolcarbonic acids, catechins, stilbenes etc. Activation of cell protective mechanisms by plants polyphenols significantly reduces the manifestations of the OS. Thus, a number of epidemiological and experimental studies indicate that regular action of natural polyphenols improves the quality of patients’ lives with diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, hypertension, metabolic syndrome. Conclusions. 1. In was established that the plant extracts of H. perforatum (L.) and C. colocynthis (L.) Shrad. possess AOA in a range of all concentrations. 2. Extracts activity depends on the concentration. The highest value of AOA for H. perforatum (95,77%) is detected at a concentration of 0.5 mg/ml and for C. colocynthis (88.62%) - at a concentration of 0,5˟10-3 mg/ml. 3. The decrease in AOA with time (10 minutes exposure) was revealed, which may be due to the interinfluence of biologically active substances in extracts.
